Manish delivered a punch on Aditya's face that sent him doubling over in pain. Karthik walked over and kicked Aditya. Pulling him up from the floor he pinned him to the wall "I warned you earlier. Any harm to my sisters, I shall not leave you. I want to kill you with my own hands"

"No, that shall be my job" Manish yelled. "All these days I have failed to see my daughter's feelings. I believed whatever you told. We all gave you a high place in our hearts and homes and you have stooped so low"

He walked over to Keerthi "For how long this has been going on" He asked holding her face

Keerthi could do nothing but sob "Keerthi I am asking you something. I demand a reply for that"

" From the first day; since we got married" Keerthi whispered among her sobs" He has never spoken to me softly even once. I have been hit and tortured every single day, even in this house when all of you were here."

Naira stepped up and glared at Aditya "This is what I have been trying to tell you from the beginning. None including Karthik believed me. But Karthik himself saw him hitting Keerthi di."

Naira went to Keerthi "Enough di. Look everyone, what he has done to her" she said and moved Keerthi's free hair to her back, revealing her wounds, horrifying everyone.

Dadi went to Aditya and slapped him "Dadi, even you believe these allegations against me" Aditya faked

"Shut up. You have no right to defend yourself. Just because I have praised you and scolded my granddaughter does not mean you hold a higher place than her. I still her considered to be an innocent kid who does not know the difference between right and wrong. Hence I was strict with her. I thought you would take care of her like a kid, bear her in your eye and heart, just like how you have pretended to do so. But you have treated her like trash. "Dadi started sobbing.

Akhilesh took the merger papers and gave it to Manish. " Tear it Bhai sahib, Tear it in front of his face. This is the reason he has harassed our kid so much."

Manish tore the merger papers into pieces. " Get out of here or I shall become a murderer."

Aditya left the place in silence. Keerthi broke down falling to the floor letting out painful wails, but being held by Karthik and Naira for support.

"Keerthi, please don't cry. There is no mistake on your part" Karthik said while breaking down himself

"No, she needs to cry" Swarna spoke up for the first time "She needs to cry and vent out her pain which she has been locking up for 2 years. That animal has made her suffer so much and she has hid it very well. She needs to cry. Naira take Keerthi to her room. Let her be alone for some time.

Naira was about to take Keerthi out of the room when Karthik stopped her "Keerthi, promise me that you will not..." He started but was cut short by her

"I will not commit suicide Karthik. I have crossed that stage long back. I am dead from the inside. You cannot kill a dead person, can you?" she said as she left the room.

Later that night - Kaira room

Karthik and Naira were lost in their own thoughts. Karthik could not believe that his sister had been freed, though something told him that everything was not over yet and the worst was yet to come.

"Naira, come.." he started to say but was startled to see her crying

"Naira, what happened? Why are you crying?"

"Karthik, this is tears of content Karthik I was just thinking that in a world where monsters like Aditya exist, I have got you, You who stands by me every single time. I love you Karthik."

"Naira, what have I done for you? I have not done anything. You have saved my sister's life. What I have failed to see, you have seen. If not for you, that man would have tortured Keerthi to death" Karthik told holding her face with his hands and kissed her on her forehead.

"Bhaiya, can we come in" he heard voices and grinned " See, our love's dushman have come".

"mendak, shut up." Naira smiled and said " Come in luv kush"

"Bhaiya, staff uncles are calling to eat, but no one has had food since morning. " Luv told

"Karthik caressed his brother's curly hair " Bhaiya is not hungry. You take Bhabhi and others and go and eat"

"I am also not hungry. Please call your taima, tauji, Mumma Pappa and Keerthi di" Naira tolf

"Nobody is coming to eat. Taima and Tauji are not coming out of their room and Tauji is sitting on the floor crying. Taima is also crying. Bhaiya, when will things get alright" Kush asked

"Everything will get alright very soon." Karthik told standing up. " You call your mumma papa to eat." I will bring the others. He told looking at no one.

Karthik walked to Manish's room with Naira. The last time he had made this walk was for trying to talk to them to call for the Mehandi function. He had avoided this room always, but he felt that he should not today.

As soon as he entered the room, beyond his will, he was moved to see his father on the floor with tears.

He took out 2 glasses of water and asked Naira to give one to Swarna while he sat on the floor beside Manish and handed over one

"Please have some water." He said while Manish shook his head in negative

Karthik tried once more "We are all in this together. It is not your fault. We are all at fault for failing to notice what Keerthi has gone through. "

Karthik continued " But honestly speaking, I did not expect this from you. I was worried that you will find fault with Keerthi once again and send her back to Delhi with that animal. I was taken aback when I saw the whole family standing up for her."

"Thank you for standing up for my sister and please come to eat. Why should we punish ourselves." He said and was about to leave the room

"Thank you" he heard from Manish and turned back " Naira beta, thank you for saving my daughter. Karthik, thank you for bringing out everything. I might have lost my daughter if not for you both." Manish said looking into both their eyes directly.

Karthik turned to leave the room and with his back facing Manish said " I can understand your pain. I know what it is to be cheated by the ones whom you thought to be your own and to be stabbed by them. I really wished no one I know has to go through that pain and it is an irony that you are in the victim's spot now. " He said and left the room.

Karthik was going down the stairs when he saw Keerthi come out of her room with Dadi" I am hungry. Can we have food" she asked

Karthik smiled. " Why not? Come, today everyone will have food together" he told as they went down.

As the entire family sat down together for dinner, Naira for the first time felt light in the Goenka House. She felt that she was in the Singhania house where the entire family ate together. Luv and Kush kept the environment light with their silly rap songs, while Dadi was fussing over her granddaughter stuffing food into her mouth.

Karthik caught Naira's hand from under the table and whispered " Thank you. I love you" he whispered silently looking into her eye

Keerthi was trying to sleep that night, but felt disturbed. Aditya's beating her in the morning and him being caught in afternoon, the reaction of the family, everything played again and again in front of her.

She decided to listen to music for sometime and was sitting with he eyes closed with earphones, when she felt a hand on her shoulder.

Her instant reaction was to cover her face and shout " Don't beat me". After a second she realised that she was not going to be hit anymore, she removed her hands from her face to see Manish and Swarna standing in front of her.

"Is it ok if we sleep in your room?" Swarna asked. Keerthi nodded positively.

Manish sat on the bed and made Keerthi rest her head on his lap. Tears made the way out of Keerthi's eyes .

"It seems like a dream Papa. I have had this dream many times. That I am rescued from that hell and I lie on your lap. I never thought you would support me Papa. Thank you so much and I am sorry for not trusting you"

Manish broke down yet again" No beta, I am the one who has to be guilty. Karthik has been right all along. I am not a good father. I have failed as a father to both of you. But I promise that I shall try to be a good father. Sleep Keerthi, sleep well" he told as he patted his daughter's head lovingly while Swarna applied medicine on her wounds.

On the other hand, Karthik was lying on the bed, holding Naira's hand tight. He was overwhelmed with the events of the day.

"Mendak?" Naira called

"Hmmm" he told

"Happy birthday once again" she told and kissed him on the cheek
