Hey Rhea,
I will be honest and tell you when you started the story , I was one of the first readers and I wasn't quite intrigued by the concept. I thought it to be a cliched story where the girl is meeting her ex-husband or something ( No offence to anybody who writes these kind of story) *totally my bad* but then I don't know what made me click the link and read your second chapter. And then this suddenly is one of my favorite stories already. I loved how you portrayed Annika , such a pure soul ! And when Shivaay didn't say anything to his friends , I was highly disappointed. Then, the unexpected happened and his friends apologized. That was the moment I fell love with this FF. I am still thanking god that I read the second chapter and remind me never to judge a story again. I am so sorry. I am eagerly waiting ,err or stalking this thread for an update.

Chapter 3

"One Espresso and one Masala Tea."

"Okay, sir." The waitress took our order.

It seems like it was just yesterday, when Annika used to sneak out of her dormitory at night and we'd go to the chaiwala beside the nearest highway. She would order her all time favorite masala chai and I'd go get an Espresso from the cafe opposite to the chaiwala.

Sometimes we would sit on the bonnet of my car and Annika would lay her head on my shoulder. And sometimes we'd lie on the ground looking at the stars. There were times we used to have such deep conversations about life and discuss about everything going on in our lives. And some days we'd just sit there in silence, cherishing each others presence.

The waitress served the coffee and we drank it in silence.

"You've changed a lot Annika. You weren't like this before. My chutki wasn't like this." I said as my voice cracked.

No matter how strong I pretended to be in front of the world, she knew my darkest fears and uncertainties. She was there when I was falling apart. She was there for me. She was always there for me.

But now I could see that she was in pain. She was alone. And seeing her like this broke me. I wanted to be there for her.

"What do you mean Shivaay?"

"You know very well what I mean. You were this chatty, bubbly girl Annika. Full of life. Look at yourself now. You haven't been yourself lately. Always lost in thoughts. You don't know what you're doing or where you're going. If I didn't save you that day, God knows what would've happened to you Annika."

She didn't have anything to say. In fact she couldn't even look me. I could see the tears threatening to fall any minute.

"Annika, you might think that no one notices you, but I do." I said, "I just want you to know that if you need anything or you want to talk to anyone. I'm here. I will always be there for you."

"Thank you, Shivaay. It-it really means a lot." She smiled. "I think I should go now. It's pretty late."

"I'll drop you."

"Thanks Shivaay. But it's okay. I'll manage."

"Please Annika. I'll drop you."

The whole time we were in the car none of us said anything. After 45 mins we reached her colony. I couldn't take the car inside so I offered to walk her till her house.

"It's okay Shivaay. You don't have to."

"But I want to." I looked at her.

"No Shivaay. Please. At least not today. Maybe some other time." I looked at her surprised. Some other time.

"I mean - I. Uh-nothing." She looked flustered. I smiled.

She turned to leave when I held her hand.

"Isn't it funny how everything changed so fast Annika. Everything we had was so special. So beautiful. I thought what we had in between us would last forever. But here we are. Strangers with memories."

"Things changed for the better, Shivaay." She said not turning to face me but I could hear the uncertainty in her voice.

"I don't think so." I said almost immediately. "I think it was all a very big mistake."

She turned towards me and I could see the pain in her eyes.

"I-I miss you Annika. I really do."
