| "It's the story of a 17-year-old village girl Rani who coincidentally reaches a fairytale castle. Fear and desire have a tussle within her whenever she's with the prince. She dreams of a better life for her mother, and brother. | ||
| Like every other girl her age, Rani also weaves a dream world where her prince charming would one day arrive and take her to his kingdom. | ||
| "This is the first time a story is being presented in a fairytale form on TV. It will be something the viewers have never seen before," says Rashmi Sharma, the show's producer. | ||
| Life in the city is a contrast to Rani's village existence. She finds it hard to cope up with the etiquettes and mannerisms of urban living. The story starts with the Rajyabhishek ceremony of the elder son of a royal family. | ||
| Egged on by another maid, Rani wears a princess' costume and when the prince sees her, he mistakes her for the princess he's going to marry but later realises his mistake. He then meets Rani at his palace, but fails to recognise her in ordinary clothes. | ||
| This story is about Rani's journey from being a nobody to winning the heart of the young prince and her acceptance as the bahu of the royal family for which she works as a servant. This fictional drama also has a dash of popular fairytale Cinderella. | ||
| The shooting for this serial is currently on at special sets in Satna and Palampur. Though both the protagonists are newcomers, the makers feel they will crack a good chemistry on screen. | ||
| "Both Anjali Abrol and Kapil Nirmal have been selected after a series of auditions across the country. We have also roped in some veterans in the industry who will return to the small screen after years. These include Guddi Maruti, Mrinal Kulkarni and Pankaj Dheer," says Sharma. As for Anjali Abrol who plays Rani, it is indeed a dream come true: "I gave the auditions in Jammu and got a call. I am truly excited that I have got this opportunity, but I always knew I will find myself here one day. That was always my aim." About her character, Anjali says: "Rani is a simple girl from a small place and I find her very close to me. So I am not finding it difficult to enact this character." Anjali is still studying and is yet to complete her schooling. "I am in 11th standard and bring my books along to the sets and whenever get some free time go through them," she says. | ||
| But is there no fear among the producers that it may be typecast as another run-of-the-mill show? "We do not see competition from any other show as our story is one that has never been told on any serial. It will stand out," Sharma says. |
