Cannes is NOT a fashion festival, it is a FILM festival;. It completes 70 years this year. They screen films in competition and the Palme D'or (Golden Paim) award is presented. The winners include films around the world. Many go on to become Oscar and BAFTA nominees or winners. You have premiers of movies too and screening of films that look for distribution. Then there are out of competition movies it.
It is a cinema lovers dream. It's in the French Rivera so fashion is a big part of it. And where there are big movie stars you have red carpets and the press. But Cannes is movies.
