The timing she chose to send Dharmi and even went to search her was based on her knowledge of Mukhi's character.
She must have easily given the jewellery to Dharmi, because it was never shown that money was ever her motive. Her motive was to take revenge on Mukhi for taking away someone she loved.
She knew Mukhi will never press charges. She knew this even if he was not married to Aru, he will never go to police and so she took a calculated risk to give Dharmi whatever she wanted to get rid of her.
The only unaccounted variables in this scheme of hers, were a selfishly loving sister, a girl who was not just hapless victim of other's manipulations but also (to her misfortune) single, and very self-centred and coward parents.
It was a calculated risk to help Dharmi run away, and it paid off in terms of not getting caught. But it backfired and she did not account for unforeseen circumstances.
