Hi Maya

First let me apologize for this late comment...i needed time to read this wonderful and emotional piece. I'm very impressed and taken by your act of generosity for crediting all the members who commented on our review thread. It was so nice of you to acknowledge each and every body's input which shaped you to write this superb shot. Not many do that..you are truly a sweet person.

The concept was unique not many have ventured into this, few have..but your depth and clarity is amazing. I thank and salute you for this bold subject and focusing on this character..for seeing it from her perspective..ishita..and most complex yet simple with minimal to zero expectations. No one has analyzed this character this deep. Right from the very beginning this character lived for others and others only..never once for herself..she did only once that is when she she decided to take the plunge..that too majorly for others happiness and she truly believed that whatever was said by Raman that day and the actions of others only made her actually believe it and internalize it. She was nothing but a convenience for others. She bore all the brunt.

What pricked me the most was the line..SHE NEVER BELONGED TO ANYONE and your comparison to Phoenix bird is simply perfect..and this has been happening to her all along..and she has been that way until that fateful night which led her to take her own life only to be saved by her friend...who back stabbed her later. I only saw her act, the pind, as releasing everybody associated with her of their relationship and duties.. like an ascetic who gives up every worldly desires to attain enlightenment. The Pind..made it official ..it showed how much this woman has undergone , the hurt, the disappointments, humiliation, name calling, all for her lack of her inability. And what sealed this was ramans move in pihus BC..her line ..AM I NOT EVEN WORTHY ENOUGH TO BE ON PAPER?...who am I...what is her status ..her relationship with everyone ..the hurt..no words can describe it...how cruel it is for a mother to be stripped her of her rights and not honored even in her death..not even respected, in her demise...and him putting shagun over her only shows, he still holds a torch for her somewhere in his heart..and will always take precedence in his life. And her amma, this woman always thought her as a burden and wanted to marry her off by hiding her physical limitations and parading her in front of countless men only to be rejected by each and every one of them. Who lived with this public humiliation ..ishita...a mother will always think from her daughter's perspective, but to me she never did...she just wanted her married off...a mother who wanted proof that her daughter still loves her..this is unheard off..no mother does that. And her words was so disturbing the anger and hatred she had towards her daughter..was appalling. Instead of hugging her ...seeing her after 7 years, wished her she was dead..better off without her..thats cruel. And then when she came back to stay with them, ishita saw her picture still hanging on the wall with garland and a lighted lamp..so much for ammas sensitivity. If that wasn't enough her words towards shagun...this woman never failed to taunt her and call her a caretaker and taunted her on her womanhood unable to attract or physically evoke any sexual/ physical desires in her husband, her insecurity again resurfaced. Is being a bhaanj a woman's fault? The way ishita was treated YES.. its a woman's fault..sad to see that this woman being blamed for something that she had no control over. And raman standing by shagun even after knowing that ishita needs him now more than ever, as she lost her sister and disowned by her parents and her confidant and a brother like figure in her life...and her question AM I THEIR CONVENIENCE ...brilliant.

The next question.. WHO LOVED ME WITH MY DISABILITIES..oh boy, this pricked my heart ...this question brought tears to my eyes unknowingly...

Though the parting gifts was a nice gesture...it would've been even better by her saying..I HAVE NOTHING LIFET IN ME TO GIVE, EXCEPT MY LIFE, WHICH IVE GIVEN AWAY BY THIS PIND..IM NOTHING BUT A WALKING DEAL BODY ..BUT STILL THERE IS SOMETHING I CAN GIVE YOU..PEACE AND HAPPINESS WHICH YOU DESERVE FOR TOLERATING ME ..A PERMANENT GOODBYE...to me this is the bestest gift she can give them.

The twist...i never expected this..it was a pleasant surprise..twins wow... and what hurt me even more was the nightmare she's been experiencing all these years of being blamed for ruhis death and the title bhaanj..that psychological trauma that was unimaginable.

So the twist was for me..aww thanks maya you're a sweet heart..i always wanted her to have a baby of her own..experiencing the full phases of the pregnancy..feel what it is to be pregnant ...the completeness...well you gave it in the story... alas not in yhm...

I have taken only amma and raman into account..and to an extent Shagun too...raman and amma ...these were the 2 adults who knowingly and openly accused her..the rest of the characters just faded in the back ground..to me they are insignificant.

I did tear up in few places...you have explained ishitas emotions in depth .

Thank you for writing this wonderful piece.
