I don't think Desi serials know how to really do grey characters. Because Abhi was initially grey...but he crossed a lot of black lines for it to be called grey now! I don't know if the CVs were confused with the character and what they wanted for him, or if they made a U-turn in between - idk. But it has seriously messed up Abhimanyu's character.

And I do feel bad for Shoaib. He's a decent actor but his character has been treated like a ping pong...making him look like a bad actor in the process. Terrible characterisation on the part of the CVs is making him look bad.

On a different note, I cannot understand why this show has such terrible ratings. I've never really understood the trp system, nor do I understand what the audience want. On one hand we speak about change, wanting something new. And yet all the recycled stuff fetches the numbers! I know this show has a lot of inconsistencies but I still think it deserves more than what it gets for ratings.

I agree with you...the Indian audience need to really grow up and stop accepting crap stuff showing supernatural drama which actually makes no sense...only then would some good shows come up...right now just forctge sake of trps...the makers and up making which is easily sold and gains numbers 😡

We can't do anything till then...

Regarding Abhimanyu. ..the character is really a ping pong...I can't understand how can one be so spineless?
After doing all that with his wife. ..how can he boast of being an Ashiq. ..and all those hilarious dialogues given to him 😆
Which aren't actually hilarious. ...but I do end up finding them hilarious. ...thanks to his poor characterization 😆

I actually never liked Abhimanyu right from the start. So unbecoming of an Army man to do what all he did. The last straw for me was when he trapped Geetanjali in a sack, packing her off as if she's not a woman but some object 🤢How demeaning and degrading was that.

I feel the meatier, intense part of the story is over. And the revenge drama needs to be more engaging. Regardless of the ratings, I just wish the show lives up to the potential it showed in the first 20 episodes.

I know! After everything he has put Geetu through...the Aashiq dialogues do not sit well with the audience in general, I guess. It does sound off. Dunno what CVs have in mind but it's silly talk and unconvincing 😆

His characterisation has gone from bad to worse! And I think we should expect it to go further downhill with upcoming epis.

Oh God! The sack thing was just awful. Inhumane and heartless. Are these signs of a sucha Aashiq? more like a deranged man!

I agree. The revenge part of the story needs to be more engaging, which is lacking at present. Clearly the writers are not sure of which direction to take. Looks like they are trying to show Abhi in a better light topped with Geetu's confusion for her feelings. It makes messy viewing to be honest.

Hope the writers get a hold of the story and entertain us. Aur kya chahiye?! ;)

Definitely Abhi's characterization is poor. At times he is shown strong but other times timid.

The trps I guess wont be showing much increase in future too. Anyway after this IPL season we could expect a slight increase.

Since this is a finite show the CVs could have done a lot better.

@bold: yes, that is very true :)

The cricket does affect viewership in general. Maybe it will be a little better once it ends. But will the IPL end before the show? Rumours are that it will shut shop soon.

I agree the CVs could've done a lot better since it's a finite show. There were a lot of loop holes and inconsistencies and the wirters have been careless. But I am surprised at how low the numbers have been from the onset 😕

See I watch the show on TV and m not going to stop...bt let's be honest..right now why will the trp rise? what's there to see that's interesting?
firstly, they promised us a love story..which clearly was a lie...
second, they promised us a thriller...which it was...till Abhi came back...
Now I dont know what is happening...its like they wrote only till Abhi comeback...and now they r stalling..
This revenge track is like a bad detective movie where audience knows all the secrets and truths b4 the detective or the criminal does...
Geetu being strong clever and trying to take revenge is all good...but what IS she doing other than nautanki as chamki? what is her plan? for two weeks now we r seeing her getting settled in the position where she can take revenge..various people trying to prove diff things and rishav and Abhi's dad getting angry and shouting...where is the mystery element? we still dont know abt Ragini-Rishav...still dont know many things...still dont know saheb angle...and they r killing time...so disappointing...its like a repeat of priyam drag(which caused trp to start falling in the 1st place)..only with chamki...only diff is that the priyam episodes had the mystery element...last week and today 3 episodes we had no questions to ask from the episodes...and from the precap sunday is going tobe same...which is bad for a thriller...

For a show whose trp is low and which is rumored to be ending soon they seem to hv a lot of spare time...

till Abhi sent Geetu to mental asylum the show was everything it promised to be...but now I dont know what the hell they r doing...😡
I am sorry...I love the show...but I hate it when the spoil a story I like this way...unfortunately the crappy shows somehow manage to keep people curious and satisfied year after year even with all the stupid things they show repeatedly...that's why people watch them...and right now it looks like, Indian tv show writers does not know how to write a successful thriller...that's just a sad truth

Couldn't agree more. Shoaib is a decent actor. Just that the character is so poorly written, that his acting doesn't seem impactful.

Desi serials do not know the colour grey. For them the female lead is pure as white and villians are blackest of black. They don't beleive that some grey exists in all people, leave alone, building plots and tracks for grey characters.

Trps is not about the numbers alone - Channels usually consider the time slot, target audience, competition, the cost of production to finally arrive whether its profitable to continue or not.

Interesting thoughts...I do agree with you. I too like this show a lot and shall continue to watch till the end. But yes, they have made a mess of it! A lot of things that were initially promised have not been fulfilled by the writers. No love story, no thriller. It's been in bits here and there...no flow or continuation.

A lot of angles that have yet to be explored, really wonder if they will see the light of day. Whatever happens, I'll watch till the last epi and then do a postmortem at the end of it all 😆

But the most mind boggling of all has been Geetu and Abhi's relationship. I have no idea why the CVs have made it into a khichdi. It makes no sense with each passing epi!
