Why does she need to do all those horrendous things with Samay?
She can very well tell Arjun that she has nothing to do with his mother or brother! And if he wants to hobnob with them, she is ok with it! But he should ensure that they never interfere in Arjun's marital life!

If Mathurs including Saanjh or Sharmas including Arjun break their respective deals, then they had it!
She can & rightfully so will put them in their place!

Why doesn't an intelligent Maya think that way, in stead of punishing others without even giving them a chance to mend their ways?

I guess such psychopaths have different layers. They consider things quite rationally on one field and quite pathetically on another. Specially on emotional fronts they behave extremely over the top.
