I changed my perspective of viewing Beyhadh

I changed my perspective of viewing beyhadh. I used to think that Maya is all about what we have seen in season 1( Her ways were justified as regular viewers could sympathize with her due to the emotional baggage she carried but now that's not the case). Then when season 2 started we witnessed her extremist nature in true sense which still doesn't potray the whole picture of her identity. The real Maya has loads of layers to uncover as we are yet to see her as a whole. Judging her on the basis of daily episodes won't do justice because the whole picture is what we will see at the end. It's unpredictable in every sense though the fact that she's suffering from some mental disease is quite clear. I'm watching it without any expectations. The thing I noticed about some viewers are that they wanting Beyhadh to be some morality series, wanting Maya's character to do things only when someone has wronged her or expecting Saanjh and Arjun to be absolutely flawless. The thing is Beyhadh is about obsession and how one who's extremely passionate about one's possessions handle situations. I do have some sort of idea that makers will satisfy viewers who wants good winning over evil at some point of time. I guess they are setting the stage for that purpose only. One can't deny that Maya's character is brilliant. She forces people to have an opinion about her which is not the case for other characters.

Nice post..

Mee too .. Watching this show without any expectations... I felt for Maya for what happened with her was really unfortunate, but now she has gone too far and has lost her conscience somewhere long back.. She now needs some hard hitting reality check to make her stop...

To me Vandana, Saanjh and Arjun were really never likable but they are victims, certainly and so far are absolutely incapacitated to deal with the super intelligent Maya.. Moreover, neither they have a good plan nor are properly united with each other against her... No coordination, no cooperation..

Arjun could have given a helping hand in improving Maya's condition in which he may or may not have succeeded and now again Arjun today can be of a major help to Vandana and Saanjh but his mind is like permanently switched off..

Its kind of a jungle game for now, where either the one who is the strongest and intelligent (Maya) or the ones who fights tactfully and is intelligent (May be one day Saanjh, Arjun and Vandana) will win..

Lets see what happens.. I am quite curious to know the climax... 😛

I highly agree with your post. Beyhadh is based on an extreme, I-know-no-limits kind of love. There's a lot to Maya's character, but I somehow feel that instead of her layers being uncovered, new ones are being added every now and then. I think Beyhadh would be at its best if makers payed no heed to what the public wants and instead focused on their plan for the show, breaking boundaries, ignoring morals and depicting truly maddening love. Of course, that way the show would not be as successful as it currently is, but it would perhaps be better. Maya's character is definitely the one that has stood out the most so far, while the show revolved around her and only her in the beginning, the impact of her presence is still maintained

The happenings in her life were brutal and I guess somewhat it has impacted her mental state badly. It has worsen over the years. The thing that she takes antidepressants proves that she's somewhat ill. Metally ill patients are not aware of what's happening with them so people around them should play their part of helping them. The recent episodes even depicted how she's least bothered about others pain and sufferings. Makers are actually in no mood to use words like sociopath/psychopath which is complicating things.

Yes I do agree their efforts are nothing in front of Maya's ways. She's is well aware of what's happening around her that makes it even more difficult for them to execute anything plus no unity at all.

Exactly when they are trying to be extreme people are stopping them to do such things labeling it as something disgusting and gross. I think they did show the mellowed down version of Maya in season 1 it's just that she's same but now the evil side of her is totally overpowerd. Makers are paying no heed because majority expects Maya to be normal as it's suitable for Indian tv standards but makers are in no way interested. I guess the path you want the makers to be on is definitely being depicted like framing Ayaan as rapist. Yes that's evident how she maintains her aura till date.

Indeed, every time the show has taken a darker turn or even the possibility of Maya being a killer, or someone who is selfish arises, people's protests seem to have no end. I'm not sure whether this is the same Maya we saw in season 1, perhaps the traits of her personality were just amplified, but I think somewhere in these 3 years, Maya did change, and not for the better.

That's true people don't let makers do the unthinkable. Even the probabilities are dismissed saying that the protagonist can't be someone who's evil in her ways. The thing I hate about Indian TV is their way of seeing art. They expect everything related to main leads to be clean and pure. I second that it's just amplified version of her traits because they have already planned the plot and executing it in that direction only.
