I am back with the sequel of Love's Eternity
It was the story of the first meeting of Balarama and Revathi. And I have written a sequel to it :)

Also, I left it open ended-ish on purpose :P

BLOOMING LOVE

Revathi sighed as she walked across the garden path in her kingdom. Inexplicably, she had fallen in love with one who is said to be the protector of the Lord of the Universe. Like Seshanaag protects Lord Vishnu, Balarama is said to protect Krishna, and it is for this very same Balarama she had fallen. Her heart beat a little faster and her body tingled with jittery shocks every time she thought of Him.

Her eyes turned up to the Sky, and she saw how blue it was. The blue of the morning sky was only a few shades lighter than the blue silk He had worn the day she met Him. From all the gossip she had slyly heard, she gathered that He wore blue almost always, like His younger brother was permanently decked in yellow.

Allowing her mind to wander on the perfection of Balarama, Revathi walked to her room, in a trance-like state, where she saw nothing and heard nothing. Lost in her world of Balarama, she walked to her chambers, her doe eyes seeing Him everywhere.

She heard her maids and sakhis giggling behind her, and she knew they were talking about her. After all, how could the bold Princess of Raivata Kingdom have fallen so much in love that she is always dazed and not doing anything she usually does?

Feeling a little guilty for neglecting her weapons and her pets, she trudged to the armoury to get dressed for sword practice. Taking her blade in hand, she weighed it, feeling the power that coursed through her when she handled the balanced sword. Grinning she went to the field to practice.

An hour later...

Revathi had defeated almost every warrior in her army quickly, yet she could feel herself move mechanically rather than with the usual swing and passion she had for the art of sword fighting. Frustrated with herself, Revathi walked to the armoury to leave the sword, and get dressed in her regular clothes.

With a casual sway, she walked to the palace, her mind busy from keeping herself deviating into thoughts of Him, though her heart made no such promise, instead picturing Him every second, and keeping Him locked in her heart.

"Revathiii!"

The loud chorus from her sakhi Sunanda made Revathi rush, bouncing across the garden in an urgency that she let out rarely.

"What happened Sunanda?", asked Revathi.

"A letter has come from Dwaraka to your father", said Sunanda, giving Revathi a knowing smile.

Revathi felt a light blush darken her fair cheeks, and she asked, hoping against hope that none had seen her blush, "And?"

"And they invited him and you to Dwaraka to see the city", said Sunanda, grinning now.
"Really?", asked Revathi, her fair face breaking into one of radiant joy and love.

"Yes", said Sunanda. "Aren't you going to talk to Maharaj?"

"Yess", said Revathi, now running to the courtroom, her hair loosened in her urgency.

Sunanda rushed behind her, to make sure her hair was in place, and she didn't look like a rebel or an upstart.

Meanwhile...

At Dwaraka...

Devaki and Rohini watched in confusion as their elder son dawdled with His food, without eating a single morsel, lost in deep thought. They looked at their younger son, who looked like the entire situation was amusing to Him, His eyes drifting between the food and His elder brother.

"Rama?", called Devaki, curious and worried.

"Ji Maa?", asked Balarama, looking up at His two mothers, only to see concern in their eyes.

"What happened?", asked Rohini.

"Nothing Maiyaa", said Balarama, innocently.

"You not paying attention to your food means something is wrong", said Devaki. "What happened son?"

"Nothing Maaa", said Balarama, even more innocently.

They heard a chuckle from Balarama's left. They saw Krishna laughing quietly, while smirking at Balarama, who was glaring at Him.

"Krishna, what do you know that we don't?", asked Vasudeva, laughing seeing the brothers.

"Pitashree, it is a feeling that has caused Dau to be in this state", said Krishna, laughing.

"What is that?", asked Rohini, tilting her head curiously.

"Well, Maiyaa", started Krishna, in a mischievous whisper.

"Maharaja Ugrasena Ki Jai!"

The sound of the guard ceased all conversation, and all heads turned to the door.

"Maharaja, the messenger that we sent to Raivata Kingdom is back", said the Chief Guard, walking in.

Krishna blinked at Balarama innocently, causing Balarama to roll His eyes at Krishna and His antics. Rohini looked at the two brothers suspiciously. Krishna looked at her, and grinned mischievously at Rohini's raised eyebrow. He blinked innocently, indicating between Rohini herself and His father. Rohini shook her head, and suddenly grinned.

Looks like her Rama had fallen for someone!

Revathi grew nervous as the chariot neared the gates of Dwaraka. Within those gates, she knew He would be waiting to receive her and her father, along with His mischievous younger brother. Her nervous, doe eyes cast a glance on the beauty of Dwaraka, but her stomach was fluttering too much, and she was too much on edge at the thought of seeing Him that the beauty of Dwaraka was something she didn't see.

Her fair face felt flushed as she neared the main palace, her eyes searching for the tall, muscled figure draped in blue silk. As her greedy eyes met His, her soul connected with His, for the second time, this time to a greater extent.

She felt the world stop around her, and almost didn't see her father getting off the chariot and holding his hand out for her. Realizing the confused look her father gave her, she got off the chariot, smiling at him.

For His part, Balarama was confused and exhilarated when her chariot appeared. She looked every bit the Princess she was. Confident and graceful she looked. Yet Balarama sensed an anxiety in her, and saw her eyes searching fervently. He kept His eyes on her, hoping she would look at Him, and she didn't disappoint. Her doe orbs always gave Him a pleasant feeling, one of completion. He smiled lovingly, yet subtly, a smile that only Krishna saw. Or so He thought!

Revathi smiled and stole a glance at Him, as He spoke to her father. The look on her father's face gave her the impression that he was highly pleased with what he heard from Shriman Balarama. She could see the love His parents had for Him, the utter adoration His younger brother carried for Him, the respect of the citizens of Dwaraka.

"Princess!"

Revathi turned when she heard the soft voice call her. She met warm, brown eyes, wrinkled at the edges in a knowing sign. This was Mother Rohini, His mother. Blushing, she said a shy "Pranaam!"

"I don't think you have met my daughter, Subhadra", said Rohini, pushing an adorable little girl of two years in front of her.

"Hi Subhadra", said Revathi, smiling at the beautiful little girl.

"Hii Jiji!", said Subhadra, grinning.

Revathi felt her smile grow, as she spoke to Subhadra, who was talking nineteen to the dozen about her Bhaiya and Dau. It was so clear that Subhadra hero-worshipped them, and it was beautiful. She smiled when she saw Subhadra jump into her brothers' arms and giggle happily. And clearly, her brothers adored her. They took care of her like fathers and brothers. Revathi could suddenly see Him as a father, as He played with their children... Halt that thought!

Revathi blushed when she saw Him look at her from over Subhadra's head, her thoughts still swirling around her head.

Rohini smiled, as she saw her Rama and Princess Revathi exchange looks. She thought to herself, and decided that she had to approach her husband and let him know of the new development. Her Rama was ready for marriage!

This is AMAZING! Dau-Kanha are as sweet as usual! I think Dau secretly enjoyed being teased like that, given he endured that for basically his entire life! And of course Kanha and Dau and their obsession with byellow and blue. I wonder why Yashoda, Rohini and Devaki (and later 16108+1) didn't get tired of seeing the same dress everyday!
Revati is such a sweetheart though! Would love to see some Bhabhi-devar moments there! 😳
