Chapter-7
Watching them(Priyanka and Ranveer) smile and converse so close and freely with each other, Diya felt some one had pinched her. She signed Soniya. Soniya nodded and asked Ranveer to put Priyanka down. All clapped. After that the game began to turn exciting. Bold dares and hard truths were being asked. Surprisingly, Priyanka now wasn't paying attention at all. She was still replaying the act and was on the verge of suffering a panic attack. Her face turned white, clutching her lehenga, she looked at everyone around her. She saw Ranveer's concerned eyes shift at her with a worried expression on his face. He quickly reached out to her and held her while she fainted. What next happened, she didn't know. Her senses came back when cool water droplets were sprinkled on her face. Her eyes flew open and she heard many sigh with relief. She saw Soniya beside her bed with her palm on Priyanka's head. Guilty she looked. She scanned the room to find any one else but saw only her girl friends. "Sorry Priyanka" They all chorused. Diya and Neha came in front of her and begged her to forgive as they didn't knew she would have suffered like that. Even if Diya knew of her recovering from cold and cough, then also she forced Priyanka to go through it. But then Neha started mentioning how superb Priyanka and Ranveer were looking while conversing and all started to gossip with it entirely forgetting their apologies. The way PriVeer, (seemed like some one had joined their names), were on each other's arms were discussed. Mostly it was the body language of the ACP that was being debated on. His relaxation techniques, his gestures, his handsome face, cool temperament... The list wasn't ending at all. Priyanka too had now been thinking of the embarrassment she first went through when all of a sudden she found herself on Ranveer's arms, holding her close to his chest yet the touch was a casual one. "His touch was soft on her skin as if he had been holding a delicate flower and not an adult!!!"- wondered Priyanka.However at this Diya didn't participated much and she supported Priyanka in dismissing all emotions attached with Ranveer during the game. To Priyanka's rescue Diya startled everyone taking the topic of Soniya's dare. Priyanka now smiled and then teased Soniya with her dare of kissing Ashish in front of her future in-laws. A loud burst of laughter that followed was naturally refreshing to Priyanka. All others forgot about PriVeer and were now engrossed in teasing Soniya. Soniya seemed to be having a bad time agreeing and was embarrassed but she continued to tease other girls with their dares and truths.This night was certainly one which would be unforgettable by Priyanka not to be mentioned by Soniya too. Off course there are others who had been listed to have unforgettable moments like Ashish, Diya, Neha...and the list continues.

During the next functions of Soniya's wedding, the girls group was openly found drooling over the ACP. Such was the effect on Neha, that when he first was officially introduced by Ashish, she got hit by Tami's elbow for staring at him blankly for more than 5 minutes. At each function, he came late and went earlier with some or the other excuse of an important case ready and that only because of Ashish, he had come to the functions. He was mostly seen with the groom's family and friends. He didn't participated much in the rituals and maintained a small distance from the teasing skits and games. This has even led to Soniya being held guilty for her friends reaction with Ranveer by Ashish.She even expressed her desire to attend a wedding of any of her friends, just not before the ending of next 2 months. All grinned and agreed. But some where Soniya was sure that anyone especially Neha have to persuade the ACP a lot since he didn't seem to settle down for a while. She in turn has asked her friends to behave well or else they had to watch the wedding rounds with the ACP being completely missing. All agreed obvious to the reason.

Priyanka could not just understand the reason for such an invisible but strong wall suddenly standing amidst their new friendship. He did talk with her when others were around, but after finding the first chance of an easy escape, he excused himself. She could have asked the reason. She did try to do so. But something always came up. She was being now asked questions by Diya regarding any quarrel or fight between her with the ACP. With a genuine face of Priyanka denying any suchconnections with the ACP, not that she did at all liked PriVeer together but she couldn't think of him being far from her just because of Priyanka. Diya thought of her and him as a couple from the first day.

Ranveer was having a telephone conversation with the DIG regarding a fake case of harassment. Ranveer was having a foul temperament through out the day. Many people were responsible for this. And then, arriving at the multiple functions everyday has worsened it. Even if Ashish could have been denied just with petty excuses but down somewhere in his heart, a voice objected. Dismissing that voice with his mind which told him to just be done with it, because of the stress and anxiety he was facing needed to be released and that's a good thing in his life. He therefore had to be present in each of the functions with a ready smile and a charming gesture of having a wonderful time with others. He met with Priyanka due to people, not that he takes gossips in humour, but it would be rude to be completely acting as a stranger when recently they have shook hands for being friends. "Yes! Friends!!"- he murmured watching her fidgeting with her dupatta and smiling nervously with a gentleman who was taking a keen interest on her face. She on the other hand, was searching for a rescue. Gradually, he found his legs taking him towards Priyanka.
Ranveer with his crisper white shirt, deep brown formal trousers and a grey blazer was easily visible amidst the crowd. With long strides, Ranveer stood next to Priyanka in just 2 minutes. Casually he asked the gentleman surprising him- "Hey! What's up Bro?" To Ranveer's amusement, he found the gentleman none other than Jatin. A batch mate of his -Jatin Sinha. The famous university no...world renowned womanizer. "Hey Ranveer!!"- came the reply from Jatin. Priyanka seemed quite relieved from the exchange and was silently thanking Ranveer with her eyes and expression. Jatin was busy discussing about Ranveer's female criminal cases and his treatment. Ranveer was pleased having that conversation with Jatin alone and enjoyed it thoroughly, though there was a confusion which kept peeping inside his head. Was it having Jatin with him after so many days or was it rescuing Miss Oberoi from a womanizer like Jatin or was it he was falling in something deep and dangerously out of his lawful territory.
