Ishqbaaaz is a story of three brothers, with different idealisms. Shivaay believes in naam, khoon, khandaan. Omkara believes in honesty. Rudra believes in looks and a perfect figure.
I'm not defending any of them and neither am I supporting any ideology. If you ask me I choose to stand in no mans' land.
Everyone has their beliefs. And they don't change overnight. If you see the beliefs of ShivOmRu are all narrow. Shivaay and Rudra's beliefs, sound narrow by nature. But if you see Omkara's ideology is also narrow. No person ever has told only truth in their entire life. It's not humanly possible. Sometimes you have to lie to save relationships and people. These lies aren't necessarily bad. Everything has a good and a bad. Same goes with lies. Annika had to lie to save Shivaay from something he had not done but was accused of. Ishana had to lie to save her family. She didn't harm anyone, she was a con girl who wanted money. But she never conned a person who was from a middle class family.
Rudra's ideology is the narrowest of all. I don't want to get there as right now it's not important to me.
Coming to Shivaay's ideology, it has its flaws. Shivaay was always the aristocratic member true to his roots of belonging to an aristocratic family. He's always believed in the same things aristocratic people believe in. He's grown up in that society and he thinks the way they do. But still he's trying to change. Trying to change his beliefs or rather the way he puts forth his beliefs.
In today's episode he mentioned that it isn't Annika's fault. He isn't blaming her. He doesn't want to lose Annika but in the process of saving Annika he doesn't want to lose his identity either. Can't a person try to make two ends meet. I know surname does not matter. But it does also. That's the way the world Shivaay Singh Oberoi lives in thinks. In his worlds, name, money and power matter the most. They believe everything is a deal. Right now Shivaay is standing at no crossroad. He's standing at parallels, and just like the railway tracks, he wants his parallels to meet too. He wants his beliefs and his understanding of Annika to come at a common point where they can meet and he can accept that as one. I do not criticise SSO for his beliefs. I want him to come in terms with it. Right now it's not about choosing what's more important for Shivaay. It's for Shivaay to make both his important things to come together. Shivaay is trying to know more about Annika's past not because he wants to know how she is as a person. Annika as a individual for Shivaay, he has no problem with her or her character or anything for that matter. But he's trying to find Annika's family because he wants to know where she comes from. Something about her at least. Not because he doubts her, but because he's trying to make ends meet. So I feel there's nothing wrong in Shivaay trying to find more about Annika's past. He can't choose one side without trying can he? He will stand at a crossroad only when he would have tried everything to know about Annika's past and he would not get anything. Only then will he have to choose. Then we know what he will chose at least after today's episode.
