Daksh was angry. Angrier than he could ever remember being... all because their plan... the plan was going completely wrong ... that too in front of his eyes.
First Shivaay had actually gone ahead and married Annika, and then now - instead of being filled with hatred... Shivaay was here now, in front of Annika's new office building...pacing up and down the street like a mad man.
His hand fisted in anger as continued staring at Shivaay from the rooftop of an adjoining building.
Shivaay was shooting fervent glances at first his watch and then at Annika's office building.
What was wrong with Shivaay? Didn't he want to go to work today?
Shivaay Singh Oberoi didn't go to work?
Shivaay Singh Oberoi was here... in a small lane in the suburbs of the city waiting for a girl?
No... it didn't make sense at all. In fact this went against everything that he knew about Shivaay Singh Oberoi.
And he knew Shivaay. Oh yes, he knew Shivaay very well. He had known Shivaay since they had been to kindergarten together. Through every single phase of his life... through each of his relationships... Shivaay had never prioritized women over his business or family.
So yes, he knew and understood Shivaay Singh Oberoi very well.
And yet, yet... here he stood staring at Shivaay trying to understand what was going through his head that afternoon.
He could almost hear Shivaay's phone was ringing from the rooftop... and it really had been non-stop over the last two hours. So now he stared warily as Shivaay continued his pacing back and forth... answering and growling instructions to what he could only assume were the people back at his office. Yet, somehow through all of the work that was Shivaay still managed to sneak glances towards his watch and then the office.
What was this?
On one side Annika was pulled towards Shivaay, and here Shivaay was pulled towards Annika... and no matter what he did... no matter what they did... these two found ways to protect each other through every circumstance... in spite of the misunderstandings.
No... he would not let this happen. Shivaay had always taken everything that he wanted... Now he would take away the one thing that Shivaay wanted... Annika... Forever.
A new conviction filled him as he stood contemplating the next move.
He smiled at himself silently then... as he finally thought of a way to get through Annika despite Shivaay's presence there.
The smug smile still in place, he pulled up his phone and dialed the last dialed number.
Yes, this would work. Shivaay had one more weakness... other than Annika that is. Shivaay Singh Oberoi was responsible... sometimes blindly so... and this...this he would use against him today.
"Tia -"
The slightly fearful... uncomfortable voice on the other side only boosted his ego then.
He loved when it when women got scared of him...Oh yes... he would have to make sure that he recorded Annika's pleas... asking him to let her live... this would undoubtedly be his last gift to Shivaay.
"Call Shivaay and tell him that you are getting threatening calls. And do it now."
Even as he said those words, a new fervor passed through him. A familiar pull towards fulfilling a hunt... the irreplaceable feeling of hunting down a prey that meant so much to someone else.
Knowing that this particular prey was actually Shivaay's just added so much more to the thrill now. His throat suddenly dry due to the frustrating wait towards the hour threatened to overpower him then... but he ringed it in.
He would wait... he could wait... He had waited all his life for this... he could certainly wait a few more hours to get back at his best friend.
The slight hitch... the unsteadiness in Tia's voice assured him that she would do as asked.
Oh how he loved it when women got scared of him... somehow that made him feel stronger.. . more powerful. And this was one of the main reasons that he hated Shivaay... Shivaay always, always came between him and the women that he had feelings for. Shivaay's principles... Shivaay's success... everything was always about Shivaay! And he hated being in the shadow of his best friend.
Best friend... of course Shivaay was his best friend.
And this was going to be the last gift that he would give his best friend.
