The root cause of all problems

I understood one thing today. The ONLY thing Maya wants in her life is Arjun and his love. If he's with her happily then she's completely sane and loving. The moment this situation change Maya loses it completely.
So in my opinion the root cause of all the problems is the great VANDANA MATA. If she had kept away her judgments and accepted Maya as her bahu (at least tried to do so) then everyone would have been happy today. Both her sons and her bahu would have been with her. Even Saanjh would have moved on eventually and would have found a good life partner. But no, this woman's ego and i-know-it-all attitude destroyed everyone's life. Her one son is away from her and the other one is in jail. Saanjh's life is also spoilt completely. Even Maya & Arjun are not happy. If only VM showed some sense then everyone's life would have been so different. That woman thought herself as God and wanted to punish Maya. Now all her deeds took away her family from her. This is what happens when you think yourself above God.
Even the pandit said that Maya will be happy as long as Arjun is with her. The only thing she wanted was her husband's love and his family's approval. During the initial days of marriage Maya was completely OK and even became friends with Saanjh. She had no problem with her husband's friendship with Saanjh. But VM destroyed it all with her single action and now everyone including Maya is suffering due to her mistakes.

Yes, the root cause of all the problems is everyone but Maya herself.

Even after they went to live alone, they weren't happy. Why is that? What did Vandana do when they lived separately for 3 years? Many people have issues with their daughter-in-law and in this case, Vandana was completely justified.

THANKS A LOT!
I was going to make a post on this

Vandana is the only character I really really really can't empathize with.
Can't even decipher what the hell she thinks she's doing??

So what if Maya was pagal? Doesn't she deserve love? Actually love is the only thing which can heal her but nah, Vandana will deny her of that and then whine about how she f**ked her life up. Too cross to accept someone other than Saanjh as her bahu?
I agree on the part (I agree with everything you've written) that Saanjh would have moved on too, as she certainly seemed to be walking the path of letting Arjun go.
Shrap and all? You need to be the type who's never made a mistake to give a shrap! She's not even an ideal mother to be honest!

I'm sorry but I really can't stand her. 🤢
I. Can. Not.

Vandana was the first one who could see through maya and understand her evil nature. Her judgement was just and what she did is justified as per her judgment of maya.

VM didn't see through Maya. She judged Maya due to a single incident and also what that pandit said. If she had tried a bit then she could have seen that Maya was really trying to change. But that woman had already made a judgement about Maya and was too much egoistical to accept anything other that her own version.

Exactly, if VM had tried even a little then everyone would have been happy today.

You just blindly hate Maya, so there's no use of explaining to you.
But still, they were not happy because Arjun was not happy without his family. And that's brings back everything to VM. If VM had accepted Maya then she would not have separated Arjun from his family and Saanjh and everyone would have been happy. But VM, Arjun and Saanjh broke the trust Maya was trying to build and she went back to her old manipulative self.
VM's hatred for Maya is not justified at all. She made a judgement based on one single incident and also by misunderstanding that pandit's words. He only said that Maya's love will be beyhadh but VM gave an entirely different meaning to it. And also she believed Ashwin's words because that matched her already made up judgement about Maya.

I wouldn't necessarily say an accepting VM would've made Maya fine.

By nature, Maya's a very, very insecure person, and her insecurities would've come out in some form or the other in the future- remember how she reacted to Arjun calling Ayaan his jaan when he was leaving the house prior to the leap? Remember her dialogues of "what does it matter" when asked by her mother whether Arjun loved her and "he has to live in my bedroom only" ?

I don't condone VM throwing garbage at Maya, but you need to remember the scene before- Maya purposely injuring herself against the door, and portraying VM as the one who did it. For VM, this would've felt like Maya was the re-incarnation of the devil herself.

And as Hippo said, she had Arjun all to herself for three years (with no external influence), but the relationship still broke down after a year or so. And forget the Arjun not happy with his family bit as the reason for it breaking down- he was glad to leave his matchbox house for a mansion.

VM has really been unfair. If Maya had taken Arjun away from her despite getting motherly love from Vandana, then I would have supported her but that is not the case. Her ways are wrong though she claims that her intentions are good. However, even Maya's intentions were good. She has always been loyal and faithful to Arjun and is also ready to give her life for him. When she recollected pundits words when Arjun had to go to the police station she was ready to move out of his life but it was Arjun who stopped her.

Therapy and jail time is the only thing that can heal her.

Sure, she may deserve love. But you can't force someone to love you. If someone doesn't accept you, that doesn't give you the right to ruin their life.
