The witch, who was performing black magic on a girl, felt a sudden jolt. She sensed somewhere her spell was broken, that too a powerful one. She could not remember which of her curses was broken, so she tried to see it in her crystal ball, but it did not show her any.

"Some strong power is hindering my view otherwise I would have known who broke my spell and which spell."

She was pacing in her room and was thinking about Nandini who had not returned. She again turned to the crystal ball and tried locating her and what she found was shocking.

"She is dead!!!" She said seeing Nandini's body burning.

"There is something going on in this forest. Something that I don't know. Focus Kalavati, focus. You are a powerful witch. Focus."

She started recalculating the spells which she had performed in past to understand what was happening.

After hours of brain storming, she recalled the spell which might have been the reason behind the jolt.

"No, this can't be true. No, this can't be. He can't get the Pearl." She was terrified. "What if this is true?" she thought.

"If it's true, then no one will be left alive in this Kingdom. I will not allow that King and Kingdom to live happily." She said in fury.

After a satisfying hug, Mrityunjay asked Tara in a giggling tone, "Don't you have to go anywhere?"

"No, no place is better than your arms," she said tightening her hug.

"Let's go Tara. We should inform Guruji about the reward." He said caressing her hair.

"Hmm..." she murmured.

"Soon there will be a battle, we need to prepare for that," he said in a heavy voice.

Tara loosened the hug and said, "Don't worry everything will be fine."

"I am not afraid. I am just worried about my family and kingdom. What will happen if the witch attacks them?"

"Why will she?" Tara said looking at Mrityunjay in surprise.

"By now she must have come to know that I am alive." He said.

Tara was confused. She asked, "How?"

"She had done magic on the city which prevented me from entering it. When you gave the Pearl to me, that spell broke. When a powerful spell is broken, the person who cast that spell feels it," he explained. He knew this by reading the book Guruji wrote.

"Then we should reach Guruji fast," she said walking towards Maria.

She mounted herself on Maria followed by Mrityunjay and they galloped Maria towards his cottage in the woods.

"Are you not going back to your family?" She asked on their way to his house.

"I want to return as soon as possible, but now is not the time. If I am in the Kingdom, the danger to the people increases." He said.

As soon as they reached his place, they walked into the cottage where Guruji was meditating. He sensed them there and woke from meditation.

"Guruji, the Pearl." He showed him.

"How did you get this?" Guruji questioned.

Tara explained how the King had declared it as reward to whoever brought the Prince back.

"So the spell is broken," Guruji said looking towards Mrityunjay. He nodded in a yes.

"So the witch must have come to know about it," said Guruji and after pausing for a moment he continued, "We need to prepare for battle."

Mrityunjay walked out hearing this to check the armory.

Now Guruji turned his focus towards Tara and asked, "Are you alright?"

"I am fine, Guruji," she said.

"Are you sure?" he enquired.

"Yes." She said.

"Did anything strange happen today?" he asked again.

"Nothing strange," she said.

Then after a moment she remembered and said,

"Except that a wounded bird suddenly got well and flew in sky. Is this strange?"

"No, nothing strange." he said.

"So soon she will know who she is. But what will she be?" he thought.

"How lucky is Mrityunjay that he got his family! I wish I meet my father someday." She said looking nowhere in particular.

"Who knows God may grant your wish too," said Guruji and started walking towards the cottage.

He stopped and said, "You two better not tell anyone about this" and then went to his books lying around.

Tara was out practising with the sword when her sword fell down. Tara kneeled to pick it up but before that Mrityunjay picked it up for her.

"What are you doing Tara?" he questioned.

"If a war is coming, your army should be trained well to fight." She said taking her position to fight.

"I am not taking you there. I don't want to risk your life. Remember what Nandini said? The witch is coming for you. It's not your fight Tara." said Mrityunjay trying to take the sword from her hand.

"How can you say that? It's our fight Mrityunjay. There is no mine and yours. Everything is ours." She said taking the sword from his hand.

"No Tara, listen to me. You are not coming with me." He said in a bit angry tone.

"You do what you want, I will do what I want," said Tara and started practising.

Mrityunjay seeing no way to stop her left her to practise. She too got a bit angry on Mrityunjay.

She had seen men suppressing women, thinking they are inferior to them, they are an object of pleasure. But what she had learnt from her mother and the Queen is that they are not inferior. They are no less than men. They are equal and even the power of men in hard times. Because of her anger, her sword was falling again and again. Each time she bent to pick up the sword she thought Mrityunjay would come and give her the sword to fight with him in battle, but it didn't happen. Her anger increased when she saw him playing with Maria outside the stable.

"He can play with her but I am not leaving my practice," she murmured.

Again her sword fell. She snapped her figures and picked it up. She turned her back towards Mrityunjay and continued her practise. Mrityunjay took Maria and tied her to the fence. From there Maria was visible to Tara, he knew Tara might want someone to talk to and left to clean the stable.

Mrityunjay was cleaning the stable when he suddenly saw the corner of its roof burning. He picked up the bucket near him and started putting water on it to put out the fire. Then he noticed that the fire had not started there. He followed the fire trail and what he saw shocked him.

Tara's dress was about to catch fire and she, being unaware of it, was practising her moves with her sword. He ran to her and dragged her away from it. Tara at first didn't understand what was happening. Then she turned and saw a small fire at the place where her sword had fallen.

"Are you ok?" he asked her and took a quick glance at her.

She nodded her head in a yes.

He then grabbed the bucket and started putting water on the origin point of the fire. Tara too joined him in this. Soon the fire was under control. He looked at Tara and without saying a word, he walked towards Maria. She followed him.

"Why are you so worried Mrityunjay?" she asked keeping her hand on his shoulder.

"It was a small fire."

"I am just worried about you, you are my life Tara." He said turning towards her.

"I can't imagine myself without you," he said holding her by her shoulders.

"I too can't imagine my existence without you," she said.

"You think I will be a liability for you in war. But no, I will not be." She argued seeing no change in his expression.

"No Tara, I don't think like that. You are my power." He said caressing her face.

"Then let me be there with you. Together we can win any war." She said with hope in her voice.

He hugged her and said, "So shall we." She tightened the hug.
