3.3 FRIENDS TURN FOE

Sitting on the couch with a million questions running in her mind, she glanced up when she saw them all walking back inside with big grins on their faces... and for a moment... her resolve wavered.
Was she wrong in judging her son...her Shivaay's happiness?
She saw Omkaara, Rudra, and Prinku chuckling and for a moment she was reminded of a long-lost time. A simpler time... when all the kids used to be running around in the house...

A five-year-old Rudra running with his first tennis trophy towards a smiling Shivaay
And finally she couldn't stop her eyes becoming moistened as the last image flashed in front of her eyes... a seven-year-old Shivaay laughing and running into her arms as she waited on her knees in their lawn.
Her Shivaay... her pride... her happiness.
No... she couldn't misunderstand him. She was his mother.
She knew better.
A sudden movement from her left caught her attention and she looked up just in time to see Tia coming down the stairways... a frown on her face as she stared at something on her phone.
Tia... Tia Kapoor... she was her son's choice...
She fits his life so well - and hasn't Shivaay himself told a million times over the last three years that she is perfect for him?
But somehow, her resolve still wavering. And she watched intently as Tia turned towards the servant who had offered her a glass of tea and smoothly dismissed him.
Just like her Shivaay
Yes, Tia was good for him.
She was spiritual. She was sophisticated. She came from a successful and good family - and this marriage would bring her Shivaay even more success... marital happiness, societal envy...and even more business success.
Life had taught her bitter lessons. People only respected you when you were successful.
No... Shivaay would never have to face the same lessons. Her Shivaay would be more successful then anyone in their family ever had been.
She continued to be torn as for a moment she faltered staring at the now openly laughing arm-in-arm Omkaara and Rudra.
Almost unwillingly then... a mother's instinct forced her to acknowledge that being with that Annika forced her stubborn son to be happy... in ways that she had long ago given up hopes for... but years and years of experience in trying to fit in... in a world where she was even now almost an outsider held her back from acknowledging just how much important that was.
Annika was a nice girl... But toh?
When had she ever said she wasn't a nice girl? In fact wasn't she the one who had been the first to kiss her hand when she had saved her Shivaay in the murder case?
And now that she knew that it was actually her Shivaay that had dragged Annika through this whole wedding... How could she not feel sorry for her?
And the way she had forgiven her son without asking for anything in return... just for the sake of their family... Again... She was really a self-less girl.
But that really wasn't the point.
She didn't fit here. Even if she was to look a different way on the issue of the enormous and obvious class difference between her and them... what did they all know about her anyway?
Oh my maata, she didn't even know her last name.
She swiftly glanced at her husband and his brother in conversation. They were both smiling and talking about some investments... but they were smiling?
Another fear gripped her heart
Her husband and her son were too blind-sided in their love for their family.
Of course she loved them too... they were her family as well after all. But no... her love for her son... her protectiveness for her son's rights... forced her to now look at the other side of the picture.
Jethji loved her Shivaay. And she would have to be completely blind to see just how much her jethaniji doted on Shivaay.
In fact, she always felt a slight tinge of pain when she saw Shivaay seeking advice from her in social matters - appearances and the like. This was another reason... another example why Annika was such a mis-fit in the schemes of things...
So she knew that her brother and sister-in law loved her son. Just as she loved Omkaara, Rudra, and Prinku.
But that didn't mean her jethji did not resent Shivaay for becoming such a huge success in business... probably even better than him.
Especially now, when his own son... Omkaara was so adamantly refusing to do anything to do with the Oberoi business.
She ignored the small voice that kept telling her deep down that this was all just an insecurity... baseless... but being a mother she couldn't let go of it.
Why did her son always have to be the one to protect them all?
No... no... she would have to protect him.
And marrying Tia would mean even more success for her Shivaay.
Yes, Tia was good for her Shivaay.
Shivaay would be happy with her. Maybe not carelessly happy like she had often seen him with Annika... but no... he would be comfortable and learn to understand that Tia was better for him in more ways.

Hi guys, sorry this came a little late. My partner surprised me with a weekend plan and I didn't have my laptop me with me to post this...
Anyway, I know this is short.. but I like these small POVs... the show has some really nice characters that aren't utilised enough as themselves... so here.. I plan on expanding a lot more on each of them individually..
Also, I get a lot of questions about the story on PMs... while I love getting these.. (I hope that my replies show just how much 😊⭐️)... but it makes more sense to have them here since others might just have the same questions.
Some really good ones (From what I can remember now!) are:
1. Are you going to show Rudra and Omkaara's stories here?
YES! The three brothers are incomplete without each other, so obviously the three stories are in more ways than one inter-related.
"Yeh ek kahaani ke teen hisse hai!"
So its definitely going to be Rudra-Saumya (VERY SOON) and Omkaara - Ishaana (more gradual, subtle)
2. Will Annika leave at some point?
Yes and No!
Yes, she would want to! Wouldn't any girl? But she is in LOVE. There is no buts, no if's... and no confusion. She is in love. And you can judge it, you can hate it, you can criticise it..but true love changes people. This is not the same Annika that we fell in love with long ago. She still has the same traits... she is still badass.. but she also is chained to her feelings of him.
But mostly also because Billu can't stand it! 😆
3. Why Omkaara - Ishaana?
I will give two reasons:
a) Because that was the ORIGINAL plan, and I have thing for originals 😛😆
b) Because I genuinely cannot relate to the whole Gauri thing (I really mean this in a non-offensive way to the Guari-Omkaara shippers...I cannot write something that I cannot relate to in any way)
PS: There were some more really good ones as well, but I can't remember (its almost 4 am here!!). I will put them on later in the week. Next update in day or two, promise!
