Religion should not be inherited but rather chosen by every individual... That's what I have believed.
Among all other excitement what affected me most profoundly were Ishwari and her situation. How the mighty has fallen!!
Mother of four kids and Goddess to one - what she gained and how much she lost is such a teaching... Ishwari's journey was a journey of a mother which was an example to society. A person so sure footed in her attitude, so gullible in believing in her stature as god. Her defeat is much more humongous than Sona and Dev's as a couple. Here I will just take a leaf from your numerous lectures of potter and birds n chicks... As couple Dev and Sona were still in the process of rolling on the potter's wheel trying to give a shape n size to their new found relationship but Ishwari had invested half of her life in creating, molding, baking and then glazing her relationship with her beloved Dev. In potter's lingo Dev and Sona's relationship was still in the soft clay stage whereas Ishwari n Dev's relationship is a well baked and glazed and worth- flaunting-to-the-world stage. And yet when a well baked pot breaks the remanences are much more hurtful and the pieces are more numerous and hard to put back together...
The Lady of the house is seen as just the waiting room clock living from moment to moment with the anticipation of something to come back n yet unaware what n when. We so often do this mistake of not recognizing how much the limits for a relationship are and stretch it to its limit only to recognize later that the stretch actually destroyed the elasticity. May be that's why space and freedom are important in every relationship, even with God.
Sona and Suhana, Oh what a contrast to Ishwari and Dev. A 7 year old has the freedom and respect as an individual to play vital role in decisive factors of what course must her future take. And Dev a 28 year old successful, intelligent, sensitive and responsible married to another sensitive well adjusted, successful intelligent person by his own choice and yet; Alas never had this respect from his parent. Both single parents mind you and yet it's a sky and earth comparison.
Ishwari's defeat was always a ticking bomb but what I am waiting to see is that will she really realize her failure even after seeing Sona and Suhana together or not... Parenting at equal footing with the child with respect for all the parties individual POVs is such a favourite of mine - CVs my respect for your responsible gesture towards the society that has always been maintained in this show just jumped sky high... Way to go!!!
