High expectations from the shows. KK, SK mentioned !!!

The year 2017 has started off on a great note. However, some shows that started off with great promise failed to live upto our expectations. It began with Sidharth Shukla and Rashami Desai's comeback vehicle Dil Se Dil Tak to Kritika Kamra's Chandrakanta. It is not surprising given the extremely competitive scenarios across channels and existing popular show upping their game to keep viewers hooked. Here is a look at shows that disappointed us...

Dil Se Dil Tak
Perhaps the biggest disappointment of 2017 so far, Dil Se Dil Tak is a daily inspired by the Abbas Mustan film, Chori Chori Chupke Chupke. We don't know if it is the bold topic of surrogacy or the late timing but the show has failed to strike a chord. The chemistry between Rashami Desai and Sidharth Shukla caught our fancy in the promos but they have lost steam. Also, the reviews for Jasmin Bhasin's performance are highly polarised. Maybe it is the timing that has robbed the show of the viewership. Also, the widespread rumours of Sidharth Shukla's unprofessional behaviour have brought in bad publicity. Dil Hai Hindustani
A hatke music reality show, Dil Hai Hindustani invited lovers of Bollywood film music to showcase their talents on a huge platform. We liked the first episode that had performers from Middle East, Russia and the UK but sadly it could not build up the tempo. The ratings of the show were not much to talk about and even the buzz around the grand finale was too low-key. The actual interest developed online after Haitham Mohammad Rafi was crowned as the winner. Rumours are they might come up with season two. Hope they get some things right then!

Koi Laut Ke Aaya Hai
This is really sad as Koi Laut Ke Aaya Hai is one of the best made shows currently on air. However, we know that good content does not always get the viewership it deserves. The show boasts of some solid performances by Shoaib Ibrahim, Sharad Kelkar, Nivedita Bhattacharya and Sreejita De. Surbhi Jyoti looks like a dream. We don't know if audiences are tired of supernatural themes or is it simply because intelligently made thrillers don't appeal to a larger base. The TRPs are kind of average. Kasam
The love story of Rishi (Ssharad Malhotra) and Tanu (Kratika Sengar) found it tough to retain its place in the top 10 and even top 20 in some weeks of 2017. We guess the constant plotting by Rano (Vibha Chibber) has annoyed viewers. The highlight is the romance between TanShi and the show does well even time the romantic sequences are aired!

Chandrakanta
Sadly, people are not talking much about Chandrakanta other than its leading lady, Kritika Kamra. The show is an expensive affair but the results have not shown as expected on screen, visuals or story wise.
