She won so many awards but she is not Indian so how can she qualify for "Indian film awards". Someone tell her, hurry!

Article 5-8 conferred citizenship on each person who met the criteria below at the commencement of the Constitution[2] :

  • Domiciled in India and born in India
  • domiciled not born in India but either of whose parents was born in India
  • domiciled, not born in India but ordinarily resident for more than five years
  • resident in India but migrated to Pakistan after 1 March 1947 and later returned to India on resettlement permit
  • resident in Pakistan but who migrated to India after 19 July 1948 or who came after that date but had resided for more than six months and got registered in prescribed manner
  • resident outside India but who or either of whose parents or grand parents were born in India
Citizenship by birth. Any person born in India on or after 26 January 1950, but prior to the commencement of the 1986 Act on 1 July 1987, is a citizen of India by birth. Aperson born in India on or after 1 July 1987 is a citizen of India if either parent was a citizen of India at the time of the birth.



That makes her Indian citizen

She is Indian.. She can vote... She did not give up Indian nationality to take up another.. She had no control over where she was born.. Giving up your nationality though... And this is getting funny😆

National award is a different case.
Well it is supposed to be. It's more than just dancing on the shows, raising TRP and glamour.

It's awarded by the government of India

So just because he's a Canadian citizen he doesn't qualify ? Nobody has problems going into the theatre to watch him, nobody has a problem with all the business he brings into the industry - but god forbid he gets an award 😆

Indeed, its a digusting way of thinking. Akshay works in India, his movies bring money in India, he does Indian movies for the Indian audience.

Would people be happy if an Indian actor was to be overlooked in a foreign Festival or Award ceremony because of his nationality ?

there is also a provision for dual citizenship..like raga has..
so may be dp has dual citizenship?
n so does akki?
so i think it does nt take away their eligibility to Indian awards 😕

Haha, you know there are lots of people who were born abroad and hold Indian citizenship. Birthplace is not equal to nationality 😆
