Part 4

"But he who dares not grasp the thorn, Should never crave the Rose"

Maan sat by her side holding her hand worried and cursing himself for being careless about her. Yash just left leaving them and since then he was worried as Geet was still unconscious.

Maan was worried and got relieved when she got up , "Are you alright", She nodded. "I'm sorry I knew about your claustrophobia from your teacher still I let it happen", He said sadly. "Its alright , it wasn't your fault", Geet said .

"Where did you get those bruises from", He asked shocking her."Its none of your business", She said rudely. "Geet, please trust me for once", He replied hurt. He asked again but she turned silent. Her silence was killing him so he decided not to poke her further. " Geet if you ever want to let something out then please tell me. I will listen to your every problem, we are family", He said. "It is because you are acting over familiar that is what seems suspicious. You don't know anything about me", She said in her rude tone. He raised his hand towards her but she cringed back thinking of the horrible memories but was shocked when he hugged her, "I know I don't know anything, but I would like to know, anything everything about you, please trust me". When she did not reply he stood up, "I will bring your diner, eat that". He bought her diner. She ate her diner silently .

Next day , Maan asked Geet to rest . As he went to his office, he found Yash looking at his office computer with worry. "Hey buddy, why are you so worried , has our shares gone down. Let me see", Maan said . "No Maan leave it ...", but before he could complete Maan pulled the screen to himself and was shocked to see the content . Geet's indecent pics were floating all over the internet. "What the hell is this . I will kill that bas***d who dared to do this to her," He yelled. "It seems she has been abused", Yash revealed. "What kind of abuse", Maan asked fearing the answer. "Physical abuse", Yash said shocking him. "Adi, bring me software hacker so I can delete all this crap", he said enraged, so that is what she was going through . "Damn , that is why shes always scared around me". He got the pics deleted and called his lawyer to get a restraining order so that that person won't be near her.

Geet was unaware of all this. Maan returned early to check on her to find her sleeping , tears shed from his eyes thinking how she must be living but at the same time a sense of pride came with it , that she strongly lived through the hardships never giving up , he caressed her head softly . The doorbell rang and he went to open up to see a young man of about Geet's age standing with a bouquet of roses. "Yes, how may I help you".

(Imagine him in glasses hehe)😆

"Umm...I...I'm here to give this to Geet. I'm her classmate , the gardener asked me to give to her , is she alright", Dev said nervously. Maan smiled looking at the younger man in front of him , "Shes fine just had a little fever so I asked her to stay back , would you like to meet her". "N..No , umm , its alright, I will see her at school", Dev said . "I'm really happy to see she has good friends like you, please continue being nice to her", Maan said. Dev nodded and left. Maan went in with the flowers finding her awake. She looked at the bouquet in his hand.

"Oh these your classmate came to give these , he was really nervous. Hey wait is he your boyfriend or something, remember you have to introduce him formally to me". "I have no friends." "Geet why don't you try make some friends. It will make you happy", he said . Geet looked up to him to see his concerned face. "I will try"."Good now if you are alright , you should go do your homework while I will ask someone to prepare diner for us . If you need any help, I will be in my study". "Okay".

Next day , Geet went to school only to receive an envelope , she thought it must be her stupid brother but the contents in it shocked her . "He's here", She whispered. She looked out of the window to find that monster standing outside , she rushed outside . "Oh my my look at it , its my dear sis, guess you forgot about me", He grinned deviously. "What do you want", She asked . "Nothing just a little compensation so that I don't give them to your classmates", He said. "Why are you doing this , stop it already . I will give you the money but please give them back to me", She pleaded . The monster only grinned. "You bring the money tomorrow , Mom was missing you too and dare say this to your guardian", He threatened. Geet went to the bank to take out her savings , she was late due to that . "Where were you , why did you not inform me before leaving the school premises", Maan yelled at her as he was worried. "Why should I tell you where I am going", Geet yelled making Maan shocked. "We are family Geet", he tried to make her understand but she jerked him away. "What family , I'm not accepting you as a family. I don't have faith in all this drama. I want to leave and live alone"."You really want to leave then leave , I was worried for you , you are still a kid". Geet stomped leaving to her room shutting the door loudly. Maan sighed, "I shouldn't have shouted on her or she will become rebellious , what's wrong with me". Maan was leaving when something caught his attention, "Her passbook", he looked at it and then his eyes went on the amount withdrawn today , she saved that much of money to run away , but why did she make this withdrawal. He took the passbook with him.

Next day, Geet still did not talk to him and left . She silently went to her old residence but as soon as she entered the door got locked and she was dragged in that hell again. "Let me go", she said . "Oh , welcome Geet , I got a new idea , since your darling guardian deleted all my uploaded content about you , so I thought why not make a new one", he said eying his four friends holding her . "I don't know what you are talking about , let me go", she struggled but was of no use , she was dragged to her old room where the guys tried to force her. "Oh so you don't know that your guardian saw those pics and deleted them , he was here and gave me a restraining order to keep me away from you . He's sharp but look here you came walking in the trap yourself." Geet was shocked by the revelation.

"So he knew , may be that's why he must be ashamed ...I ...I can't face him now. I let him down , he won't care about me now'. But before those monsters laid a hand on her the large glass door broke and Maan came in shoving all those guys away from Geet protecting her . He turned to that monster and broke the camera . He started beating the living daylights out of him and then he hissed, "If you ever try to come near her again , no matter where you run , I will hunt you down and you will be dead". He hit him again till he was almost dead. He informed the Police and they captured them . In all this he did not notice Geet who went out . He turned around to see her walking lifelessly going to a nearby bridge. "Geet , you okay let's get you home"."Stay back", she said . Maan took a step closer but she now stood ready to jump off from there scaring the hell out of Maan. "Geet wait what are you doing", Maan said .

"You know don't you , that is why you asked me to leave yesterday when I was late. You must be feeling ashamed to have a family like me . All this time I thought that even if I'm being abused , my family will one day rescue me and all this nightmare will end but I'm sorry I was not the ideal family to you", She said sadly . He understood how deeply she has taken their argument , he never wanted her to leave,

"I did not mean that Geet , please step down. I know about how that monster treated you but I did not say anything because I thought asking you about the same will hurt you more and I did not want that, I want you happy and I want to provide you a carefree life so that you can enjoy like your peers. I m really proud of you for facing everything alone and never giving up , I'm happy that you grew into a strong person . Geet, the purity of the heart is more important and you maintained that . Even a Rose is surrounded by the thorns but still maintains its beauty , you are like them . I want a chance to protect you , to provide you the happiness you deserved from a family , please let's go home , I promise to always be there for you". Geet understood how wrong she thought about him and held his extended hand . "I'm sorry". "Its okay now let's go",Maan said . "I can't call you brother I have lost my trust from that relation long back so please can I call you by your name. I accept you as my family but please ...", She said meekly . "Sure dear , and don't worry now no one will trouble you as long as I'm there , now let's go home." She nodded and both went home happily to start afresh .

"It is at the edge of the petal, that love waits"

Geet and Maan returned only to be welcomed by Maan's friends , "Oh great so you both are happy now", Yash said. "Let's celebrate", one of the friends said . "Shes such a cute little girl, aww I wish my sister was that cute , no wonder you hid her", They jested. "Why are you guys here", Maan said . "To celebrate , you both are happy right", Yash said. "Yash bhai , that is enough I have my test tomorrow and if you all want to celebrate then keep it down", Geet said irritated . "I'm going to my room", She said leaving everyone. "Listen you guys if she got angry because of all of you remember I will personally kick you all", Maan said . "Aww the big brother is really possessive , but what will you do if someone takes her away , a person who will love her comes , then what will you do", Yash said. "What are you talking about shes still very young for that", Maan said . Yash looked at his best friend and diverted his thoughts, "Forget about that, lets celebrate"."Yup".

Next morning Geet ran around the house gathering her stuff. Maan got up hearing the noise,"What's wrong ,"He asked . "I can't find my watch", She said rummaging through her stuff , "I'm getting late"."Hold on , here take mine", He said. "It looks expensive, I can't take something like that what if I break it", She said looking at the piece.

"Don't worry its an automatic watch , it works according to your pulse rate, if you stop wearing it , it will stop", Maan said looking fondly at it . "Umm...don't you think I'm too young to carry something that costly and why did you buy such a strange watch". "I loved this one , it's like it can't live without its owner , like if you are not here I will stop . Don't that sound romantic ", He said. "Whatever , you are really weird anyway, don't blame me if I break it . I will be leaving then bye", She said rushing out forgetting her lunch box. Maan rushed after her , "Hey , you forgot your lunch box". But she was gone. "How am I going to look after her if she does not even eat properly", He said getting ready to go to her school . "Maan you sure are pampering her too much , wasn't that your favorite watch , the one you won't give to anyone even over your dead body , how easily you gave it to her", Yash spoke gaining his attention."Hey its just a watch anyway,"Maan said. "Really you use to fight with Sameera when she touched it once . I think you should maintain your distance with her before its too late and anyway she will get a boyfriend soon and in a few months may be you will have to marry her".

This caught Maan's attention, a strange emotion crossed his features for a moment before he composed himself . "She is too young for that , I want her to study just like dad wanted ". Yash noticed that but did not say anything further but just watched his friend silently.

At school, Geet's watch was noticed by other girls too . "How did she get such an expensive watch", One of them whispered. Geet heard all that but ignored until one of them purposely tried to break it . This made Geet to lose her temper and she pushed the girl carefully lifting the watch to see if its alright. "How dare you push me", the girl argued . "I will do it again , if you try anything like that", Geet spoke up for the first time startling many. "So now you are showing off just because you own that expensive watch , did you buy it or may be you stole it", The girl said . "It belongs to my guardian". "Naina , apologize to Geet right now", Dev interrupted. "I saw what you did to her and if you don't want me going to the Principal, apologize right now". "I'm sorry", Naina said reluctantly to which Geet just nodded. After that she left to the garden , she was really sad about the whole thing, why can't they let her live in peace was all she could think of. Once in the garden, the gardener asked about the watch too ."It belongs to my brother ,uncle . I was getting late and could not find mine so he let me borrow his", Geet said. "So are you two getting along now", the gardener asked. "You can say so uncle , though his cooking is horrible and there are many inconsistencies with him but I'm happy I got someone whom I call a family back", She smiled. "I'm happy for you dear". Naina watched all this from the classroom and smiled, "I will make you pay Geet , I will destroy something which you like".

At the evening , they found the entire garden destroyed, Naina smiled at her victory , she knew that Geet loved those roses so she destroyed them. Geet was in tears, "Uncle, how can anyone be so cruel ". She looked at boulevard which was destroyed. "Don't worry dear , go home we will do something about this tomorrow . Its getting late your brother will get worried". Dev watched as Geet and the gardener left the boulevard . He went there and fixed the boulevard without anyone noticing. "If you smile then the roses will smile too", He smiled touching the petals.

Geet went home and was gloomy making Maan worried. "Geet did anyone say something to you"."No, the boulevard I worked so hard upon was destroyed by someone", she said sadly. "You love roses, right", He asked . "Yes , I do and you know I planted them myself ,but now its destroyed ", She cried . "Okay , okay calm down now , we have a garden here at the mansion too . May be you will like that ", He said trying to cheer her up . Geet saw the efforts he was making and nodded . They went outside and sat there . "Are you feeling better now", Maan asked . "If you want you can take care of the flowers here", He said . "I have been with those flowers for a long time now . I felt they were my only friends", She said. "You are not alone now Geet , we are like a family", He said. "Thank you, I feel better now", She smiled.

"Good then, always remember if you smile the world will smile with you, even the roses will they are your friends right. So always smile for your friends , you will make more", He smiled and patted her head lovingly. Geet felt happy sharing her sorrows with someone now, may be someday she will smile just like he said.

Next day, she was astonished to see the flowers fixed. "Uncle did you do this", She asked the gardener who himself was surprised. "No Geet , I did not do anything , I thought may be you did". They were very happy and Dev watched all this through the window facing the garden. "Dev , what happened to your hands , why are there so many bandages", His friend asked once they were in the class. "Ah, its nothing , I was trying to help Mom in the kitchen and instead of chopping the veggies I chopped my fingers", He lied , but Geet noticed that and thought to thank him later. After the class she went to him and thanked him. "I know you have fixed the garden , thank you", She smiled."I...It's nothing really", He stammered. "How did you know", He asked curiously.

"It's because no matter how clumsy anyone is they won't manage to get all their fingers chopped", She laughed making him embarrassed.Dev mustered the courage to ask her out, he wanted to make her smile. "Umm...Geet ...I...I really like you a lot , please will you go out with me", He said making Geet stunned .

So here are the double updates for today, I would be occasionally or regularly giving double updates of this as it will be probably my last story before I leave due to personal issues 😃

I would like your opinions for Sameera, she is not a completely negative character though here and there shades of gray might be there in her character😃 So please suggest a nice face for her not a vamp😆
