I always believe that memories are shards of glass, the tighter you try to hold them, the more they pierce you. This is exactly what Shivaay is feeling right now. Every moment related to Annika is a memory in Shivaay's mind. These are memories which Shivaay holds close to the heart. These memories pierce him everyday. Along with the happy memories, there are a few cringe worthy memories too, which Shivaay holds tighter than the others because it is his way of repenting his actions. From what I know about Shivaay is that he is not expressive of any emotion, but does not mean he does not feel them. The strongest emotion SSO (note: I'm using SSO instead of Shivaay.) feels at the moment is guilt. Guilt for all he has done. And those memories remind him of all his wrong doings. They help him repent and redeem. He holds those memories even more closer because he is guilty of them. Hence even after all this, whenever Annika looks at him with care in her eyes instead of hatred, these memories come to pierce him. It just makes him feel unworthy of Annika. Shivaay starts to feel unworthy of Annika, whereas SSO is glad that Annika is there. Even this debate between Shivaay and SSO hurts him.
This was my take on the scene. Please share what you feel.
