She comes to the terrace and sees him already waiting for her. She wonders whether he is disturbed about what happened few minutes in their room. She walks to him and is about to put her hand on his shoulder but her hand stops just an inch before touching his shoulder as he turned and looked at her.
He tells her that it's good that she has come because he has something important to tell her and he is nervous about it. He is not only nervous with his words but also looks so pale. He tells her that he has decided something that's good for both for them. She doesn't understand what he is going to talk about and looks at him perplexed.
He tells her that since Tanu and her don't get along well, it wouldn't be nice if she continues as his secretary. He tells her not to have any hard feelings as continuing here would actually be uncomfortable for both of them and he doesn't want her to be accused every other day. He adds that though they're just friends and there's nothing more, people may not understand it and needlessly cook stories about them.
He also tells her not to worry about getting a job as he would make sure she gets a good job. He boasts about him being a Rockstar and having lot of contacts. He doesn't face her while telling all this. As soon as he started talking about the job he walked beyond her and stood so that he faced her back. He knew this wouldn't be easy for her and he didn't want to see her sad face. It would stop him from what he is doing now so it served as an advantage for him that she didn't turned around to face him.
When she remains silent, he decides to lighten the atmosphere as the air around them is filled with tension. He acts like he is not affected by her leaving him and starts talking about the new life she is going to be living. When she is about to turn, he stops her by asking her not to turn. He tells since they're best friends and they are used to each other's annoying habits and presence, it might be difficult at first but then time will heal everything. He asks her to not to forget him. He playfully tells her to invite him for festivals, birthdays as he loves her mom's cooking and when he accidentally spells out "also your wedding", he goes numb for few seconds. Her heart is sinking and tears are fighting to come out of her eyes. She knew it was his wedding the next day and there will be people who would try to eliminate her from the place before she would do something to stop the wedding but she didn't expect that he would ask her to leave.
He remembers how he and Pragya had accidentally fallen on his bed half an hour ago and how Tanu's mom walked into the room when they were lost in each other's eyes. He tried to explain the situation to Tanu's mom but her mom was being so loud and angry. The words which she used must have been humiliating for Pragya. He felt bad for her. He convinced her to relax and later Aliya joinef him by making her calm down. Aliya took Tanu's mom for some doubt related to the wedding next day. After few minutes, Aliya slowly entered his room while he was holding his head sitting on the ottoman. She started talking patiently and asks him not to worry about the incident because she knew her brother wouldn't do anything wrong. She then added a but' to her sentence. She says that she could understand that Pragya is his best friend but not everybody wouldn't understand it. Abhi stated at her sharply. She then told that she was telling it for Pragya's good because people might start talking ill of Pragya's character for being close with a married man. It irked him at first but then he understands what she means. He remembered the times Tanu taunted Pragya for being with Abhi. It ached him to think that their relationship would subject Pragya's character to people's judgement.
His train of thoughts break when he hears her asking if someone else asked him to do this and he doesn't have to worry about her. He fakes anger and tells her that he's not a baby to decide everything upon other's words. He tells her to be practical. He thinks what would he do if she starts talking about their friendship pheras and the promises they gave to each other so before she could think of it, he tells her not to live on those memories. Words spill out of his mouth so quickly and loudly that he feels the need to take a second to breath. He then apologizes to her by saying he doesn't mean to hurt her but just wants her to understand the situation. He assures her that they will be friends anyway even after his marriage but just won't see each other or spend time everyday like they do now.
He wanted her to be silent till he finished his talk. He wasn't sure that he wouldn't take back his decision if she says something to him or if he sees her cry. But now, her silence is becoming unbearable to him. He turns her to face him. She hugs him tightly and silently sobs into his chest. His eyes close involuntarily. He could feel her breath being irregular and also hear her low sobs.
She wants to tell him a thousand things but all that escapes her mouth is "We're just friends? There's nothing more". He heard what he was dreading as well as longing to hear. It's not the words but the way she said it. He would be a naive guy if he didn't understand what she meant.
When she keeps repeating them in a low painful whisper, he makes her face him and for a long moment, their tear filled eyes locked with each other. He knew he didn't need to second guess what to do. Suddenly he felt so sure of his life. He didn't have to hear her say it because he knew what's in her heart and he is no longer confused about what's in his heart.
"I love you", he tells her with indestructible smile on his face.
"What?", she asks him though she very well knows what he said because it was overwhelming.
"I am an idiot. Forget whatever I said before. Just remember this. I love you", he said pulling her for a hug.
"I love you too", she said making him twirl her swiftly.
