Am I missing something?

As far as I know Thapki left Noida on the very day Bani and Tina were born. She was away for 7 years that should make Bani and Tina both 7 years old. Why then are they said to be 8 years old? Did TPK have a leap that I am not aware of? Are we to presume Thahaan and offspring have lost a year in between the time Goberdevi was exposed and the time it took them to get to Rajastan for their pilgrimage? How far is Noida from wherever in Rajastan they went? Does it take a whole year to get there?
