You know the drill. Here's the thread for today. If you refresh occasionally like you do for written update, you might be able to read as I update. I will start updating as the episode gets uploaded. You guys can continue your discussion. I will update as I go and change the title with EDITED when completed!!!
Before the episode begins, here's my thoughts. I have said it before many times and repeating again since yesterday Saheli mentioned the same thing in her Fuzion productions article, Dev is the younger version of Bijoy. I have absolutely no doubt that if a grown up Soha falls in love with someone who hurts her, Dev will do much worse to that person than Bijoy did to him. He already showed an example with Ranveer and Ayan. What do you think he would do to the man who caused hurt to his darling daughter? May be that's why Dev can't get angry with Bijoy because he gets him better than Asha or Sonakshi get him.
However, Sonakshi is a mixture of Asha and Bijoy. She doesn't need a lot in her life to be happy like Asha. As long as she gets some support, minimum respect and little consideration, she is happy to take last place in her husband's priority list.
But she wants husband and wife to share everything and behave like an unit like Bijoy. That she is not willing to compromise on. And just like Bijoy, once she gets on her high horse, only straight, cut throat logic can cool her down and make her see reason. That's the process Jatin uses for both father and daughter. He calms them down by being calm, cool and collected himself and present his argument with straightforward logic.
This is something Dev needs to learn from Jatin. He can continue taunts and rile them up. But he won't achieve his long term goal that way.
EPISODE:
The episode starts with Suhaana's demand for her parents to sleep with her.
Okay, I have a question. I never slept in the same room as my parents (at least not after I could sleep in a bed) and none of my cousins slept in the same room as their parents either. I am not talking about when we went travelling and stayed in hotel. I mean at home. Do people sleep with their children? And if they do, how do parents have their privacy and how do people have more than one child with their child sleeping in their bed?
Bijoy hears Suhana and says, Sarvanash. He tried to go in. But Asha stops him.
Inside the room, both Dev and Sona says No together.
Soha looks down with a sad face and instantly Bhaiya says yes. Sona gets shocked.
Bhaiya says that he is ready if Sonakshi doesn't have any problem.
Soha looks at Sonakshi hopefully.
Me: Neat, huh Bhaiya? Kitni smoothly aapne Sonakshi ke sar pe discipline daal diya aur khud hero ban gaye? Maine kahan tha naa, Bhaiya Soha ko bahut spoil karnewale hain.
Sona sends Soha out to brush her teeth. When Soha goes, they argue about parenting.
Sona says what did he mean that if she is fine he can sleep in her room?
Dev says that before telling him anything, she should have seen Soha's face. She got so sad when she heard no.
Sona says that he has to practice saying no if there's something they can't do for Soha.
Dev says that why would he say no if yes makes her happy?
Me: Holy mother of Jesus Christ!!! Bhaiya seriously needs crash course in parenting. Mummy squad in forum, please do Bhaiya a favour and teach him how to be a parent as opposed to the favourite uncle who spoils the kid and hands them over to their parents to discipline. That worked with Golu, but Soha is your daughter, Bhaiya.
Sona says that this is how he will be a parent? By saying yes to everything?
Dev says then what should he do? Be a parent like her who kept a daughter away from her father?
Me: I swear, if Bhaiya repeats that excuse one more time, I will slap his mother. Someone needs to punish the actual responsible person for his whining.
Sonakshi says that it's not fair.
Bhaiya says that he doesn't care what is fair or not. He just wants his daughter to be happy.
Me: Now please scroll up and read my thoughts pre-episode and tell me what is the difference between Dev and Bijoy? Both want their daughter's happiness and none of them are willing to fight fair to achieve it. I have been saying this over and over but Dev is younger version of Bijoy.
Anyways, Sona tries to make Dev understand that none of them got anything handed to them in golden platter. Kids have to learn to listen and accept no.
Dev says that what he didn't get, his daughter will get. He says that he is not willing to argue with Sonakshi the first day.
Soha calls Sonakshi from the washroom. She goes inside.
Me: Sonakshi, the points you made we had already discussed in my previous threads. However, you don't have the gumption to stand your ground. So arguing with Dev who is willing to do and give anything to be the favourite dad, is not going to solve your problem unless you are willing to play the strict but fair parent. If you really don't want to spoil Suhana then stop the race to look good as a parent and BE a good parent and say NO.
Anyways, Bijoy complaint about Dev. Asha drags her down. She tries to make him understand but he refuses to listen (she kept refering Dev and Sona as husband and wife, not sure why. Inko bhi partial amnesia hain kya?).
Bijoy calls Ishwari. But before he could speak, Asha takes the phone and tries her best to calm Ishwari down.
But Ishwari is not the sort to calm down. So she calls Dev. She asks how her 8 year old is staying there. If they fed him with their own hand, changed his clothes, tucked him in with his favourite toy... Well, not exactly to that line, but you get the point.
Dev assures her that everything is fine and he is happy. That doesn't make Maataji happy though.
Me: Me thinks that she was not very happy to hear the chirpy tone in Dev's voice.
And Bijoy also thinks Dev is a 8 years old these days. Woh bhi Dev ki har complaint uski mummy se karta hain. 😆
Anyways, Dev hangs up the phone to see Sonakshi waiting for him.
Dev asks Sonakshi so what's her decision.
Sona tells Dev that as he knows that Soha is stubborn like him. So she didn't want to change her mind. So they have to adjust tonight.
Dev says with a smirk that he knows what she means.
Me: Bhaiya ki shakal dekh ke aisa to nehin lag raha ki unko kisine zabardasti Sona ke saath ek kamre mein rehne ke liye bola hain. Shakal dekhke to lag raha hain akal mein koi aur hi laddoo phoot rahee hain.
At night, Saurabh and Ronita talk on phone. Saurabh asks Ronita how is her home situation after seeing Dev. Ronita assures him that everything is fine.
Then Saurabh asks about Ronita and her feelings. She very sweetly takes away his worry. They have a sweet moment together.
Me: You know, Saurabh. I have no doubt in my mind that you will be a great husband. After all you grew up with an excellent example. Bijoy might be a cranky old man for the world but for your mother, he is an excellent life partner. Not even his biggest hater can deny that.
You have learned from him how to be a good husband. Ronita is a lucky woman.
At Sona's room, Dev and Sona lie down either side of Soha. Soha is super excited.
Soha asks for stories. Dev agrees but he says that he is not. So he looks for remote. Sona refuses to reduce below 26. They bicker.
Soha takes remote and asks Dev what is his favourite temperature? He says 24. She asks Sona the same. Sona says 26. So Soha sets the temperature at 25. They both agree.
Soha says, where would they be if she wasn't there to solve their problems?
Dev and Sona look at each other.
Me: Oh sweety, they would have been divorced. Because none of them were willing to do anything for each other what they both are willing to do for you.
Anyways, Dev starts his story. Both Soha and Sona listen with identical expression. Eventually both fall asleep. Dev looks at sleeping Suhana and then looks at her mother. He slowly takes the remote and increases the temperature back to 26 and fall asleep.
Me: Awww... That was a sweet gesture, Bhaiya. Lekin mujhe aisa kyun lag raha hain ki aap jaan bujhke bina koi reasons ke Sonakshi didi ko taang dete rehte ho? Kahin aap ko unka attention to nehin chahiye? Bachpan mein school ke boys unhi girls ko pareshaan karte hain jinko woh pasand karte hain. Aapka bhi wohi chakkar lag raha hain.
Next morning Sona wakes up to see Dev lying on the couch and about to fall. She tries to call his name without waking up Soha. But then thinks that if he falls, he will blame her for that too. She tries to stop him from falling. But Dev rolls over and falls on her. That wakes him up and eyelock, romantic scene happen.
Soha wakes up and sees her parents on the floor demonstrating biology lessons.
She smiles and says Mamma, Papa... Perfect, just perfect.
Me: Ookay, baby's biology lessons not required. She already knows more than most kids should know.
Anyways, Dev and Sona hurriedly get up.
Sona says what perfect? This can't be perfect.
Dev says that he is better off away from this perfect.
Me: Itna lame explanation dete ho tabhi kisiko aap logon pe yakeen nehin hota. Bhaiya aur Behena, ya to dono ek room le lo aur jo bhi physical issues hain usse sort out kar lo, aur nehin to khul ke bako ki dimaag mein kya khichdi paka rahe ho. Audiences ko bhi jeene do aur apne family ko bhi confuse karna bandh karo. Paka diya dono ne iss haan naa ki chakkar mein.
Anyways, Dev asks Sonakshi what she was doing. She said that she was trying to save him.
Soha asks why Dev went to the couch to sleep. He blames it on Sonakshi snoring. She says that she does not snore. So Dev makes up story about her stress and tiredness.
Soha asks Dev to leave because she wants to talk to Sonakshi. Dev is about to leave when he hears that Soha tells Sonakshi that she is getting stressed so she should take time off work. Sonakshi agrees, Dev smiles.
Me: Ek aur chakka. Bhaiya humme to laga tha ki aapko Soha se matlab hain to aap sirf uske saath time spend karna chahte hain. To phir aapne trick karke Sona ko kaam pe jaane se kyun roka? Aap ka dimaag ka fitoor naa samajh mein nehin aa raha hain. Kyunki jo conclusion main nikal rahee hoon, woh aapki kahi hui statement se bilkul match nehin karta.
Ronita sends cake to Saurabh with her message in puzzles inside. She asks him to eat the cake and solve the puzzle to get her message. He gets worried.
Me: Bechare ko saare intellectual types ladkiyan hi milti hain.
Anyways, next morning Dev is reading newspaper when he gets a call. The newspaper falls down.
Bijoy and Asha come down. Bijoy saw newspaper lying on the floor and starts cribbing to Asha. Then Dev goes to the dining table and drinks water from Bijoy's lota.
Then Dida comes and stands by Asha.
That makes Bijoy mad. He strides to Dev and says that he is not a kid. This is his house and he will have to follow Bijoy's rules. Dev wishes him good morning and greets Asha and Dida as favourite Bose girls. Asha smiles and Dida gets happy. She says that even Saurabh does not greet them like that.
Me: No, Saurabh does something else Dida. He respects and loves your family.
Anyways, Bijoy is still cribbing. Dev asks what is his rules? Bijoy says that the newspaper has to be respected. Dev says okay and he picks up the paper to put it on the table. Then he asks Bijoy if he is happy now.
Bijoy gives a big fake smile and says yes.
Me: I swear this scene reminded me of Missouri ki Kasam scene. Ek se badkar ek hain yeh sasur aur damad. But both are same. Again see my commentary above.
Anyways Saurabh arrives with cake. Dev tells him to go jogging with him. Bijoy tells him not to tell Saurabh what to do. Daadi points out that he is the one who calls him football. Dev makes surprised face, Abhi tak?
Bijoy asks him to go to work. Dev says that he has no work. He only has one aim to spend time with Suhana and her family.
Me: Achcha. Tabhi Sona ki office ki chutti karvayee. Lekin Soha to school jaa rahee hain naa Bhaiya. To aap ko uski mummy ki chutti se kya matlab hain?
Bijoy is not happy to hear that.
Guni asks what she can make. Dev says whatever everyone is having, he can have the same. Bijoy makes his plan for Dev's dinner/lunch.
On the other hand at Ishwari mansion, Radha is tightening her screws on Ishwari and Mamaji is indirectly trying to make them loose.
Ishwari wants to call Dev. Mamaji realises that indirect approach won't work. So he takes direct route. He tells her not to call Dev. Ishwari says that she just wanted to know how he is doing. Mamaji tells her that for 7 years she did not call Dev. Now he wants to spend time with Soha. Why is she bothering him?
He manages to stop Ishwari, for now.
Me: I swear I can tolerate Bijoy even in his worst tantrum. But Maataji immediately makes me want to strangle her in her sleep. Lekin yeh soti bhi to nehin hain. Kal se mera husband Detroit gaya hua hain. Maine ek baar bhi call nehin kiya. Kal raat mere husband ne khud call kiya to baat ki. Aur yahan yeh budiya apne bete ko subah, shaam, dopahar, raat itni baar call kar rahee hain jaise beta border pe gaya hain. Honestly, this woman!!!! 😡
Anyways, Dev sees Suhana ready for school. He asks for a hug. Suhana says that he looks dirty. He has to shower and then come for a hug. Dev goes to have a shower.
He closes the door and about to undress when Sona walks out with towel in her hair from the bathroom. Dev gets flustered and makes a noise. Sona still her eyes closed asks for a massage (Me: Hain? Itni der aankhen kaun bandh rakhta hain?)
First Dev thinks that Sona is asking him (Me: *SNORT* You wish, Bhaiya) then he realized that she is asking for Gunni.
But he thinks that if he says that it's him, then she will wonder why he didn't say anything and if he says nothing then she will continue to call for Gunni.
Me: Kitna lame explanation. Pehle wale se bhi yeh jyada lame tha.
So Bhaiya decides to massage Sona's head. She enjoys massage and says that Soha gave a good suggestion. From now on Gunni can massage her every day. She also asks for shoulder massage.
So Dev makes face and starts to massage her shoulder.
Sonakshi feels strange and opens her eyes and screams seeing Dev.
Me: Man ki aankhen khol, Amma... Man ki aankhen khol. Explanation mein kitne jhol baba, excuses mein kitne jhol.
Anyways, they look at each other and episode end.
Me: Aur mera bs hazam karne ka quota bhi. Aaj ke liye bas itna hi.
PRECAP: Dev opens bowls at dining table and everything is non-veg. Just then Golu calls out BigCha. Dev gets surprised and asks who brought him.
Ishwari says, Me.
Me: Bijoy, now is time for your favourite word. Sarvanash...
Waise koi chudail bhaganewali dawa hain kya? Darwaze pe latkane ke liye? Jaise vampire ke liye garlic hota hain?
