Its a premature question.

I would wait for Judwa promo , no matter how it is, it may be VD's biggest opening.

Paddu has to be made, clear censor and if controversy is good enough, it may suffer due to protests and threats.

Release date: 29th September (Friday) is Dussera

Great weekend: Monday 2nd October is one of the biggest holidays of the year.

NGE - Promotes their commercial flicks like anything. And they excel in that zone

Hit songs guaranteed - Tan Tana Tan & Oonchi Hai Building are being remade.

Salman - Karishma cameo though it won't be part of trailers for sure

David Dhawan's last 2 were a success and him Sajid N always tend to deliver as team

Fox Stars just announced as distributors so it will get a grand release & their on success streak

Varun's star power is ahead all of his generation at the moment

Jacqueline & Taapsee's contribution may add lil but still better than flop heroines

Cons

Commercial films finds it harder to work on Box Office

Too much expectations being a sequel of Salman Khan's smash hit of 90's

Reviews won't be in favour as critics aren't fan DD films

Padmavati

Pro's

SLB coming after Bajirao & RamLeela

DP - Singh reuniting again as they are known as hit jodi

Solid cast of Shahid, Deepika, Ranveer

Controversies may attract many to go to cinemas

Music, setting & story may attract many

Critics might throw favourable rating for this

Period films have it's own set of audiences and attract overseas fans

Con's

Ranveer & Shahid's previous ventures didn't strike right chord with audiences

Negativity around the story

Deepika's long gap from Indian cinema

Not so great release date

Huge budget

Viacom not so healthy with their recent flops & disasters

Shiddat - All these things are words on paper.

Both movies have potential of getting big opening, but real picture emerges after promo and songs.

Judwa will open very good, coz Salman fans are slowly migrating towards VD ( as per my journalist friend's analysis). They want to see how VD fills Salman's shoes in the movie.

Songs will be superhit. They will have that 9 se 12 song, it will be Tamma Tamma of Judwa.

Padmavati will have everything "grand and spectacular" , I am sure it will also attract lot of interest.

Numbers may boil down to the release date equations.
