I just caught up on this week's Beyhadh episodes. The big fall and the slap and Arjun being left with just Maya. Then Maya turning her back on her God to be Arjun's God and Arjun's her everything. The signaling of doom.
Now comes the leap. 3 years on. Maya is clearly unhinged. Maybe her relationship with Lord Ganesh is what kept her grounded. He was her friend, her confidant. The only person who didn't think she was "Ajeeb" and rejected her. I think his steadying force in her life was underestimated. She achieved a lot at a young age and broke free from Ashwin and his curses thanks to her relationship with her True God. But now that doesn't exist anymore. Now she is totally gone in her love for Arjun.
Just like she separated Arjun from everyone and his only real bond is with her, even Maya separated herself from her True God and confident for Arjun and that is the reason why she is now so insecure and lost. Her Mother can't communicate with her. So the only person she can talk to now is Arjun, and her need to "Possess" him has driven him away. Arjun came from a laid back and relaxed background. In his life, these type of extremes didn't exist. He doesn't know how to deal with being the object of High Maintenance Maya's ultimate desire. He has been elevated to a level he doesn't know how to handle, and he is becoming unhinged himself. He is playing this game ALL wrong. He is "Telling" Maya, "Set me free", "Let me go". etc etc. This is NOT how you deal with Maya duffer. Have you yet to learn that the more you demand this, the less you will receive it? Mind games. Mind games are what you need to play. A game of chess. Only then you will achieve checkmate. But sadly for you, your opponent is way smarter than you and much more experienced.
That move of getting the boxer to beat him up? THAT was a mind game. "I'll give myself pain to make you feel the pain". Isn't that what Kushal's post said with a picture of Arjun? That was an excellent move. Good strategy. Think of a few more like that! Shayad tumai mukhti miley!
Maya is clearly in "denial" that her relationship with Arjun has hit the rocks. But soon she WILL face it, and she will go into revenge mode and go into her "Gone Girl" avatar! THAT is when this story will become Beyhadh interesting. Arjun will also pay for his desire to make it big and being seduced by the "idea" of Maya. He will pay for turning his back on his loved one's, that though sometimes wrong, did always love and support him. Maya will make him pay. That part will be so fun to watch because in Gone Girl, it was chilling as well as thrilling to watch this woman get the better of everyone. Even when the man starts to play the game, she almost falls into his trap but finds a way to trap him instead. When Maya lays her cards down, and acts like "Maya" and not a desperate clingy housewife it will be interesting again. Not that it isn't now, but that will be way more entertaining.
Loving Maya's look. Happy Saanjh has a boyfriend. Like that she left the nest and spread her wings and found her Samaay! For people who are making this Maya Vs Saanjh, it never WAS that. I have always said Beyhadh is not a love story. It's a thriller and a love story is contained within. Actually, several love stories are contained, but the story is about obsession, control, and passion. If people can accept that, then this show will be thrilling to watch. If they just want to "ship" a couple and choose a side, then this is not a show for them. It's time Indian audiences approached show content in a mature way. If they want to see run of the mill daily soaps with a cute couple and then a happy ending, then Beyhadh is not for you!
