JNDSD~ My take~ Saturday 18.3.17 ~ that little voice..
Within each one of us resides a faculty of the mind which compels us to distinguish right from wrong within our actions. It is our conscience that acts as a moral guide for us. That which often affords us opportunities for self correction. It's an intuition, that gnaws at our being till our transgressions become delusions before our very eyes if we don't mend our ways. Our conscience often points us towards doing the right thing. The episode has some examples when a little voice badgers characters and depending on the scenarios, specific outcomes transpire.
Vividha gets carried away easily, and is one not to mince her words. This time certain allowances can be made for her. Here she stands with Ravish, totally as a mother with only one thing on her mind to get her ailing child well again. One slip of her tongue makes her point for Ravish to back off! It's the strength of her character , that heeds to the little voice and Vividha makes haste to correct the damage of her unbridled tongue. Ravish appears in a vulnerable position, one who is in the role of foster father. It is only natural for him to feel disempowered, his spontaneous and sincere love for Madhav is dismissed rather abruptly by Vividha words, that she makes the decisions when it comes to her boy. Is Ravish too deeply involved? maybe he needed to be shown his place! He wonders?.. he was never one to sound his own trumpets. But yes.. he hurts by her words.. If there is anyone who can exemplify Ravish's value in Madhav and her life it has to be Vividha herself. Her heart and mind made many mistakes, still do. Yet she is not one to allow grievances beyond her power to fester, but rather she is one who makes haste in making amends by being fair and reasonable.Vividha is god fearing.. a young woman whose life experiences have shown her much suffering. Which in turn has given her the qualities mercy and compassion.. and that is a product of her functioning conscience.
When a woman abandoned by the groom whom she loved more than life itself ,sets forth to obey the little voice inside her. It becomes a moving scene between Vividha and friend cum Madhav's foster father. Since it's a child who remains at the epicenter of their bond. The prop Vividha uses is Madhav's school satchel, to reinstate Ravish to his rightful place in Madhav's life. Mathematically she speaks of the use of application of Ravish in Madhav's life. She compares Ravish to the properties of learning aids which right from the moment Madhav was born, the boy has been using and applying to life, with the help of Ravish as his teacher. Vividha gives Ravish his true place in Madhav's life as she and the rest of their families see him.. Madhav's teacher, advisor, support , friend and dad.. it's like Vividha gives him the credit he is due, plus a hear felt apology! Now can we deduce, that between friends no sorry ,no thank is needed. But then again, if Madhav's parents have to teach him the sense of right and wrong ,then both parents have to lead by example! Besides apologies ,forgiveness, adaptations are all for one little blessing Madhav .. whose son is he?
The name of his biological father ,Atharv will unceasingly churn up a four letter word in Vividha's heart.. how close this four letter word hate is to the other four letter term love.. both strong words, conveying a strong sentiment . One negatively restricted , the other positively broadening. If only the balance of these two words tip and spin!.. come Ravish and Madhav! Tip and spin!! for the sake of Vividha, the light of love of three blokes, Madhav! Atharv ! Ravish! But before she leaves for Delhi Vividha assures Ravish it's a business trip and there is no way on earth she will come face to face with Atharv!!
The wicked have no peace! Suman's catalogue of sins makes her little voice, yell the life out of her as she has a visitation from the anklet being. She calls for Raghav! For whom daily she digs a pit. Atharv comes and give her the same caring protection that this wicked mother's son Ravish gives to Atharv's son Madhav! Strange but Suman's wickedness is somehow brushed aside by the good deeds of her unconditionally virtuous son Ravish. As for Suman it seems the dubious woman seems to be hallucinating, as Atharv checks there is none about! Is her conscience slowly stifling her? or is she beyond any moral view points?? so sinned beyond sin is she??
Raghav /Atharv is a man with a conscience. As a committed husband of a wife soon to give birth to his fruit. He is all in all behind her in giving assistance in her yoga breathing exercises in preparation for her confinement.
Unknown to him outside his house.. a mother is spotted at the boundary wall of Vashist house.. picking fruit spilling outside the house, but that stems from Atharv's house ! this mother.. is on a mission to save hers and Atharv's fruit ! But then, picking fruit is always a hard chore ,when the pick is from another's garden! One gets caught! and so did this mother! By the servant and then the master himself!! The life source of her fruit...
She had said her and Atharv would not come face to face. True to her word, a woman with a conscience, Vividha comes disguised. Veiled as a traveler! Even if her veil was not between them, would they still have much to talk about? The veil is a sad reality. A wall of oblivion that stands between Vividha and Atharv .. her side of the wall is bitterness at being stood up by the man who vowed to protect and standby her for the rest of her life. On the other side of the veil there stands Atharv with a hazy memory of a song.. depart not from my heart.. a face with a name, Vividha! This nomadic woman gives Atharv a strange sense of vague familiarity .. her manner ,her voice the way she fights off accusations that she is not a petty thief! She jostles Atharv's memory .. spontaneously he goes for her arm.. he felt he knew its smooth warm texture! All the more his conscience is stirred when he meets her daughter madhavi for whom the veiled woman picked fruits!
For some reason unknown, or was it a sense of something being wrong? the little voice within his heart makes Atharv hire the veiled woman as house help specifically for his pregnant wife Guddi. Both mother and daughter now have the right earmarked roof over their heads.. however one evil soul in the house senses the entry of two virtuous .. out to topple over her plans and blow out her dreams in a puff of smoke! The veiled woman has to do a great deal of talking and tell many a tall tales to keep the veil over her face!... Vividha at her best! The lengths a mother goes through for the life of her son... The little voice within her tells her to do her duty as a mother..
The episode pans out to be lighthearted in the end as Vividha literally goes undercover and so to speak, enters the enemies fortress. Will this poor nomadic girl find the fruit she is looking for. Will the lord of the manor get to see her face?? But one thing is on the cards that the old witch in the house will look through the pig tails of Madhvi and discover the big bold hypnotically accusing eyes of Madhav!!! Shivani , Kabeer... just were great! couldn't keep a straight face seeing them disguised ! hamlet53 19.3.17
