Jhoome jiya is the story of dabu or jiya who cant do anything right. She tries and fails everytime.
Jiya is so innocent that everyone make fun of her and tease her.
She has a friend called himani.
We see that jiya who is very reluctant to see her exam result thinking she has to pass this time but is very sad on finding her name not in the list. She calls her father and informs her who is furious and asks her to go home. Jiya is very upset and feels that she cannot do anything perfectly right that to from her childhood days. Her friend himani has passed and is trying to get admission for RAD the dance institute any dancer would love to have admission in.
Himani tricks dabu one night and takes her to the disco where dabu finds a dashing young man with whom she dances. but the guilt of going to the disco is not barable for jiya and she tells her father the truth. His father decides to get jiya married.
Jiya's dadi is very upset with the fact that jiya is getting married and she will remain so dabu all her life.
Jiya's dadi is training himani's group for a function where they will perform and even saloni from zee tv will be there.
Dadi finds out while training that jiya understands dancing steps very easily. Seeing the natural talent she wishes to develop it further. She gets the oppurtunity when himani gets injured and they decide to make jiya Dance in the Program.
jiya dosent want to take part but is forced to do so by her dadi and friends.
The big problem arrives when people are coming to see jiya on the same day for marriage. Jiya's dadi tricks jiya's father and takes permission to go out for parlour but instead takes her to the party where she will perform.
There she gets ready and comes to stage but dosent perform and goes backstage because her father had also come in the party.
Jiya is disapointed as she wanted to dance. She goes back home where people come to see her.
Naresh who has come to see jiya for marriage is like jiya's father strict, disciplined and most importantly boring. He hates dancing. At the same time we see saloni who is in the party see's a video shown to her by a small boy of jiya dancing and preparing for her performance. Saloni finds natural talent in jiya and wishes to meet her.
The boy takes her to jiya's house where they are having dinner with the guests.The boy manages to bring jiya outside and saloni tells jiya that she is very talented and she should respect her parents but also fight for her identity.
Jiya goes back inside to find that her marriage is fixed with Naresh . Jiya's dadi is upset and dosent like naresh.Her dadi asks jiya to give audition for RAD. jiya is afraid of her father so She dosent want to go to RAD.But in the end accepts Dadi's request to audition. Dadi goes to rad and brings a form for jiya where she had many troubles in getting the form. She tells her that she can do it. Jiya is not allowed to go out of the house because she is getting married.To take jiya out dadi arranges a date with Naresh and instead takes jiya to RAD where the auditions are going on.there jiya is very nervous.Even the guy who had danced with jiya in the disco is there he is with another girl. Himani has also come but dosent see jiya. Jiya's father comes to know that naresh is waiting for jiya for a long time and jiya has not turned up. Upset he goes in searh of jiya. His scooter gets damaged outside RAD and jiya saw this from inside. Dadi tells jiya to forget about his dad he is not a kid. Jiya's dad meets naresh who is very upset and goes back not listening to the escuse given by jiyas dad.
Jiya enters the audition hall and fails to perform infact she dosent even move as she is taken by stage fear. The judges reject her. They both come back home to see jiya's father tense and they also find out that naresh has also come to see jiya. Naresh and jiya go to the terris and jiya in fear tells the whole truth that she had gone to rad. Naresh impressed with her honesty tells that he will only marry jiya.
Jiya's dadi is upset and is tering an old newspaper photo and jiya enters she sees that there are gungroo and other prizes of dadi lying on the bed. Jiya asks dadi did you dance? and dadi replies, yes but now its all finished all dreams shattered. Jiya picks up the torn newspaper photo and sees her dadi dancing in it she realises how big a dancer her dadi was. Then she goes out with the gungroo ties them in her legs and starts dancing in the backyard and it starts raining and then dadi comes out and is thrilled to see her jiya dance so good.
Jiya goes a gives a hug to dadi and both get emotional. Then dadi tells her how one decision changed her life and she(dadi) couldnt become a famous dancer.She tells a story about how she used to get praised by everyone for her dancing.
Jiya's dadi is know filled with confidence that jiya can become a good dancer if given chance.The same old boywho had bought saloni comes to dadi when she was trying to convince jiya to perform again in front of rad faculties. He shows a video recording of jiya dancing the other night in the backyard. He tells he had took it from the terris.Dadi goes to RAD and after facing difficulties manages to show judges the video who are very impressed. But one judge (who is the principle of rad)denies admission saying a second chance given will be unfair to other participants.Dadi says she dosent want admission but only one chance to perform so that jiya gets the confidence that she can dance.They grant the chance to dadi.Dadi goes back home but trouble arrives there. Jiya's father has been suspended and income tax officers have come to search the house. jiya's mother gets very worried and so does rest of the family.Now dadi is unable to take Jiya to RAD as such a crysis has occurred.
