The movie was a washout and Madhuri was trashed for choosing something like this. But I really liked the movie. The story was simple , engaging and quite a heart-warming one.
The music is amazing! I still listen to Ore Piya and Ishq Hua. They don't make such movies anymore.
And I really liked Konkona , Akshay Khanna and Kunal Kapoor in the movie! Madz and Akshay should have got together in the end. I liked their spicy conversations! 😆

I love this movie! It was a sweet and touching tale of the magic of art and how it can bring happiness to life. The play in the end is the best adaptation of Romeo and Juliet that BW has made, with no competition. Lovely songs too. Koko and Kunal had such good chemistry. Haha, isn't it hinted at the end that something would eventually happen between Madhuri and Akshaye. With its background, Madhuri was perfect for the role.

I don't know why it didn't work...maybe it came too early, at a time when audience wasn't as receptive to female led movies. Maybe 5 years after it released, it would have done better. I remember people also ended up comparing it to CDI that released a little bit earlier and had a very similar arc, but focused on sports instead.

Loved the songs and Konkona-Kunal jodi and also Madz-Akshay Khanna scenes.

The dance drama part was good too, and the message how dance changed the lives of the villagers.

This movie would do better if released now

Akshay Khanna is such an under-utlilized actor, wish he would do more movies.

It's not a bad film at all.
Madhuri looked amazing and acted so well. I just wish the character and role had more to do to showcase her talent.
The soundtrack was amazing.
I feel like the last part of the film (the play) went on for too long and made it boring.
The film had some GREAT comedy scenes and Konkona's performance is really underrated.
The rest of the supporting cast were hilarious.

I just don't understand why the film did not work. It was a great film with good message. I loved the songs too and Madhuri looked so beautiful in the film. I am sure if the movie would had release now it would had worked.
It has repeat value too. I can watch it anytime and still enjoy it.
