JNDSD~ My take~Tuesday14.3.17 ~ The pale palette
Holi is a festival of colours ! that dresses the earth once again after the hoary breath of the winter of discontent comes to an end. It is celebrated with much gusto and new zest for starting life again after a bleak period. Faith wise it commemorates the triumph of virtue over evil and sacrilege. Bonfires are lit in which past years impurities and ailments are turned into ashes. Devotes, honour debts, reconcile quarrels ,and aim to rid themselves of impurities of the heart ,mind and soul, that they accumulate over the past year. They embrace the incoming year with a new mindset of following the paths of righteousness. Looking at the episode, what strands of this happy colourful festival that heralds in hope and rejuvenation can we see in it? Do Atharv , Vividha, and Ravish find the palette of their life, set in the colours of the rainbow or, do they find their palettes lacks distinctive colour and appears pallid? due to battles they wage on their individual fronts..
Vividha has a militancy about her. Her child has been wronged, as a mother her gut instinct is her prompt to go to Delhi! seek out what evil tampers with her son. Ravish's battle is to question the basis of her instincts. But a mother when it comes to the safety of her child's life.. needn't give any rationale. Fighting spirit to tackle evil is enough justification. None of Ravish's pleas work and her protector has no choice but to let her follow her hunch. Is Ravish, yet again being the support in Vividha's life?
Vividha is charged up by the festive spirit. She is a devout follower of the message of Holi and is hopeful she will find virtue victorious, when she cracks the evil that ails her Madhav..is this destiny's method, that strangely enough Vividha is taken away from her family in Ajmer to celebrate the festival of colour in Delhi instead ? It appears this mother makes her choice to do so..and find the true message of Holi, seeking the truth! But the truth is, Vividha goes to seek a specific truth but ends up facing a truth she was in the dark about..
Atharv's battle front is being the poster loving husband to Guddi . Although Guddi is in a blindfold, its Atharv who has blinkers on! unaware since years of the fraud and guile around him. Guddi loves the surpise Holi garden party.. Guddi smiles, have under currents of fear.. what if Vividha turns up here, sees Atharv ? Suman will have her guts for garters! Atharv funnily acts as the one, who upsets the phone line messaging happening between the witch and her minion. For nothing can stop Vividha from coming to see Raghav, not heaven, hell or purgatory!
Looks like Vividha's, purgatory of love is in motion. Totally gobsmacked, she finds herself outside the house where floods of memories wash down her spirit. Two men Ravish and Atharv who loved her..one still does and by her side. The other, that she loved, but he deserted her. Yet oddly enough whilst speaking to Raghav for some unknown reason, the voice of whom she loved gripped her senses.. and she has the same feeling around her again. Setting foot on this territory after four years is no easy task. Bad memories stab her heart, for it was here that Atharv took her hand ,give her away like some ragdoll to Ravish and left her high and dry ..and alone! But Vividha reminds herself she is here for a goodwill gesture to meet Raghav , she has to proceed..
Holi celebrations are in full swing ! Atharv plays the good husband throws colours at Guddi... crowds of people mill around. Then the cadence of the drum beat! a man in white. The way the back of his body moves as he beats the drum, seems familiar . Vividha is keen to see him. He senses a lost love.. a vague presence, a continuation from the past. boom! Boom! go the drumsticks at his finger tips.. as his heart bounces against his rib cage.. he senses her she wants to see the drummer's face.. he turns, revellers block her view.. when he revolves around.. she moves away. What silly game of hide and seek comes about? Life for Atharv continues, he too is swept away in the merry making moods of the festivities. But some agitation resides within him and once more he turns but dancers block Vividha's view.
Ray of hope Gargi! Vividha reckons she'll leave Raghav's gift with his wife. But then the bitter truth!the stark revelation! the man Vividha's sought for some reason, turns out to be Atharv! Before she knows it, the gift of gratitude for Raghav falls to the ground! for the two timer she once loved.. her heart is pierced with the realization that Atharv aka Raghav is Gargi's husband! He has to be the way he shows her affection openly.. Well now she knows , thinks Guddi.. Vividha's reaction is justified.. she came looking for what disturbed her child.. and here she gets the biggest shock herself. Memories of holi fun with Atharv smarts within Vividha as she watches Atharv in utter disgust! There is nothing left to know and she runs out.. out .. out of this house! that always inflicted wounds on her one way or another..Out of his reach, his sight ,his house..
Vividha crumbles down in body and in spirit .. the cruel man literally brought her down on her knees..ahh tears !nature's ways of giving vent to heart break. She recalls ,some strange sensation came over her. whenever she spoke to Raghav, perhaps providence geared her up for this truth! she was utterly blind too.. this then, she bitterly concludes is the ugly truth of Atharv. He never intended to return to her, he was involved with Gargi clearly.. the truth has now set her free! Free of loving Atharv??
On her knees a multitude of emotions hit Vividha.. most of which I feel are justified . Shocked jealousy in seeing him after four years and that too with another woman, with whom he is married. Vividha's only fault here may be she is being judgmental and is unaware of the real truth. But going by first hand information there is nothing to talk about. For her, his absence ,no word from him in the past four years, seeing him with another woman seems now a foregone conclusion..Yes she always loved Atharv ..seeing him in this role is like losing someone who was a major attachment figure for her. He was to her a confidant who provided Vividha warmth and support. It's a loss! will she need time to get over this? She probably feels it's pointless even considering talking things over with him, it'll only end up hurting both of them.. it's best for her to face the situation, she did so, four years ago..now all is crystal clear. Vividha has done it before, re-establish herself as Ravish wife, Madhav's mother.. yes she found her identity again. Found a positive reason to live for..Madhav aand her business that she runs to establish her independence. She will get over the loss too.. she learnt four years ago, to negotiate her life on her terms and put to practice compromise where needed.. married Ravish. Tears escape from her eyes, she needs to stop blaming herself.. accept it. It is meant to be this way. Vividha tries to silence her heart, but what of love? the love she shared with Atharv? Love.. has been set free due to the truth..
Back to Ravish, and she opens her heart to him in a secure environment she confesses and to me continues to give natural reactions, feeling of being cheated by Atharv ,despite the fact she did a lot for him, suffered on his account. Now she has feelings of worthlessness.. but her friend Ravish gathers her broken spirit and gives her a good tip, Live and let live... moving on means letting go of anger.. Ravish in a way plays the devil's advocate let Atharv live happily with his choice while we live happily with the choice we have made in our life .. Ravish proves to be a calming influence for Vividha. He applies colour on her cheek and she on his .. overcome and emotionally burdened Vividha gives Ravish a hug. To me it means, thank you for being around my friend. Ravish closes his arms around Vividha with an expression that offers thanks for small mercies.. Suman watches from the sides and wears a smug expression on her face.. bull's-eye! just what she wants, Atharv out of Vividha's life for good! Hamlet53 15.3.17
Hello friends sorry for such a long take.. and late post I guess got carried away.. by Vividha.. I believe she still loves Atharv.. the shock is too much for her.. he needs to meet her ..to revive the old magic in their bond. For the truth is Atharv needs her more than she needs him..
