Maya is a mastermind. She has always found a way to get what she wants, right or wrong, and the Mayajaal Arjun is entangled in is no less. Her Mayajaal is a well-plotted plan, something that took time but has instant results, doing things slowly but with sudden outcomes.
Maya has her aim - Wanting Arjun all to herself.
This would require her to get rid off all the other people Arjun interacts with, or rather, loves.
The targets - Vandana, Ayaan and Saanjh.
1. The hardest thing to take away from a person, is what you gave them yourself. It's almost like taking a gift back - unacceptable. Maya being Maya obviously started with the hardest, deciding that Vandana must be the first one to be distanced from Arjun.
The week-full of episodes we (mainly speaking for myself here) hated were the ones in which Maya was the ideal daughter in-law. She was the perfect wife who begged her mother-in-law to accept her, but in vain. Maya knew, she knew all along that Vandana would, at some point or the other attempt to humiliate her and she also knew that Arjun would speak up against it, the one week of perfection was just a show, a facade, an illusion.
2. Ayaan was simply a bonus point for Maya, he came along with Vandana. It was predictable that Ayaan stood up for his mother when Arjun confronted Vandana, and predictable to us, is obvious to Maya. She knew the second Arjun would cross the line, Ayaan would interrupt like a firewall in between, a firewall that would be tumbled down.
3. The final target is Saanjh. Just like Vandana warned Saanjh, it is now her turn. Thanks to spoilers we know that Maya will have a miscarriage for which she will blame Saanjh and Arjun's close relation that would have apparently caused her a lot of stress. It is rumoured that Duffer and Dusky will have a huge fight, and Arjun will cut off all ties with Saanjh.
And there it is, Maya's plan - her Mayajaal. It took her a month into marriage to accomplish all she wanted but my question is, what now?
