JNDSD~ My take~ Sunday~ 12.3.17 ~ A picture is worth a thousand words

It's a popular saying that a picture can convey a usually complex idea, just in a single still image more effectively than a description can. As a visual representation , in one instance can relay information, sentiments , matters of significance to the heart ,mind and soul in the blink of an eye. Today's episode touches upon Madhav's pictorial representations , which goes without saying is a inherent skill that the boy inherits from his father. This talent they both possess celebrates their blood that seems to connect them rather beautifully even though both Madhav and Atharv are unaware of who and what exactly they are to each other. But their ability to depict facets of their imagination in drawings strikes a chord of harmony betwixt them. Apart from this, auditory image, the sound of the anklet too portrays a significant role in the episode.

The sound of the anklets bode ill , for Suman! Atharv is not meant to hear them, plus his flippant remark about Guddi and Suman act as if they have seen a ghost! creates a chill in the air. Suman acts fast ,it's a good thing she has her charity work to fall back on, feigns.. she is called away for an emergency meeting. Suman is proactive in dealing with any shortfalls she faces. In my mind she conjures up the image of witch who hops on her broom and flies off to tie loose ends elsewhere! Guddi is only given information, on needs to know basis, nothing beyond that. It's evident that Guddi is nothing more than a glorified childminder for Atharv ,with the specific task ,now of keeping Atharv off those pictorial representations of Vividha.

Withdrawal symptoms, but giving off messages through pictorial representations .Infants , spontaneously express their sentiments of fear ,joy sorrow or matters of significance to them in the form of drawings. A popular image that young children sketch is that of their loved ones, their family, their pet or their house. It's a language acquisition exercise too , as they are able to verbalize about the images they have sketched. A child's state of mind can be ascertained by the kind of images produced. Teachers or guardians can pick out if there is something that is troubling the child, especially when a child appears withdrawn and unwilling to share verbally with a loved one. Taking note of its form of play and other activities, can also serve as eye-openers. Vividha as his mother is aware her son Madhav is not himself, all his ways show it. He is unusually, quiet and without his animated buzz. The boy says naught, but the images he portrays on paper are indicative that, a woman in dark room, the image of a spider, a symbol of fear.. are pointers that some fear resides in her son. Interesting sketch, as Madhav also draws the girl with anklets too.. it implies he has seen the image, who is posted behind the woman ,watching her? Madhav's memory serves him right and he captures what he saw.. like Atharv he draws many sketches, tries to purge his fear. When it comes to talking about the images, he stuffs his face with food to avoid his mothers question. It's like he blanking her out too.. but the images are there telling a tale!

Ravish, considers Madhav's subdued condition , his strange pictorial representations as a delayed reaction, to the complete kidnapping incident. He has probably just realized what befell him, as before he couldn't make sense of what happened. Ravish seems to suggest it was all rapid and rushed.Ravish is more concerned about Madhav's physical infirmity of fever, rather then the silent trauma that Madhav suffers .. Ravish advices doctor be called. As for Vividha, he suggests she calms down, as Madhav needs victim support . Ravish fails to grasp that children do understand how they feel? and very often use drawings as a medium to give notice of what they are going through.

Madhav's good receptive memory skills are on a roll, as his sharp mind and little hands reproduce more incriminating evidence against Suman, although not enough to convict her fully as yet, but enough to confirm one more time that this woman he has depicted in his pictures may be Suman. Already his mother is putting up his case that Madhav did see something in Raghav's house that is disturbing her son!

Suman rules, by keeping people on their toes ,keeps them guessing, waiting upon her responses.. she takes pleasure in people's vulnerability, keeping much about herself, to herself .Guddi potters about in Suman's room, is she prowling ,seeking some sufff on Suman? The woman's elusiveness and mystery baffles her. She remembers her duty! hides Vividha's sketches from Atharv. Here too, pictorial images ,sketches of Vividha haunt Guddi! It's like Vividha sketched eye follows Guddi's low level act of stealing a sisters husband! Atharv suddenly turns up and Even he is surprised his mother has taken off without telling him!

Both looking after each other. Atharv see's to Guddi's needs and Guddi keeps an eye on his memories, how far back he goes in time and returns with Vividha .He is the loving caring husband who wants his wife to rest! Makes it special.. he'll cook!wants her to eat healthy home cooked food instead of some unhealthy takeaway. Guddi rather occupy him in the kitchen putting his cooking creative outcomes , then go looking for Vividha's sketches!

The sound of the anklet plays up the pulse of an expectant mother. Guddi cannot work out where Suman is? Why she left in a hurry? More riddles for the dippy handmaiden ..

Suman takes control of an angels dreams , by lacing Madhav's drinking water. Madhav sees Suman and yells for his mother ,but it is seen as a nightmare by Vividha, who gives him his medication with the water and bids him to sleep. What irony, Madhav gets medication for healing from his mother and downs it with deadly water! But Madhav once again speaks the truth. He saw Suman in the room! Vividha checks, behind the curtains, but Suman is mistress of keeping herself undercover.. but not long before both father and son with their pictorial representations will make curtains for the seemingly never in one place Suman! But the she devil has scales like a reptile! She now waits for Madhav to be the way she wants him to be ,in her control!

The benign being is gradually taking up the wife duties around Atharv in place of Guddi .. lays the table for him.. he calls out to the presence to chop the tomatoes, tells it where they are.. hears a fridge opening and closing.. receives two bowls one of chopped coriander, the other of chopped tomatoes ..guddi too hears him talking to someone.. she offers to help!and he chuckles, is she out of her mind? She has already done the chore.. he saw her doing the task! Atharv thinks not much of it. But Guddi is worried sick! This being the one with anklest is putting her out of a job! Hamlet53 13.3.17

For me the thriller element of the story continues. The benign being with tinkling toes creates much mystery ..who is she?the real Guddi?the way she is shown in Madhav's sketch as a woman who wears her hair to the side of her neck is a clue..highlight for me were the scenes of the phased out Madhav and the keen master chef in the kitchen. Tomorrow episode sounds ominous I wonder what Suman expects Madhav to deliver .?

Hey Hammie,

I couldn't bring myself to finish the episode yesterday and I was specially waiting for your take as I didn't think there were much in the episode to discuss. But how wrong was I? You have beautifully reviewed an episode I deemed useless. 😆

I love your take on the sketches of both Atharv and Madhav. I also loved this line of yours "Ravish fails to grasp that children do understand how they feel? and very often use drawings as a medium to give notice of what they are going through". This is so true and people often in professions of children are told to place extra significance to their pictures as its a mean of expressing themselves. The makers have been smart in using pictures to enable the audiences to understand what is going on in Madhav's mind.

Anyways...once again, a beautiful take in what I deemed to be a useless episode. I can watch the episode again remembering this take of yours and it would make it perfectly aright to bear.😆

a picture is worth thousand words, a take is worth hundred episodes.Cz it teaches us more than the episode teaches us, it talks about the parallel presence of virtue n vice.

It is interesting how the bap beta both r drawing sketches of the mystery women of their lives.hehehe. both drugged by suman, is it the after effect of the drug that person becomes creative?

Ravish is not acting like an army man, he is supposed to b alert all the time.instead he is acting reluctant to think there may b something wrong with the boy who used to b chirpy n naughty all the time.even if it is post traumatic stress, he needs to support him as son.be he chose to sleep. But a mother can not sleep in peace.

I like the way the story unfolding in the form of sketches.with the background of sound of anklet, the fog around us, yet to b cleared is drugging me like madhav, eager to see today's episode.

keep writing.u r fantastic.

Hey hammie Rockstar. . U nailed it there... ur frst para is jst Gold abt drawings being children's medium to communicate to outside world.. n u wer absolutely amazing wen u described father son inherited traits of drawing. .I had a big grin when I saw Madhav drawing his fears on paper jst like his father... take a bow dear fr yet another master piece..
Episode with payal wali was thrilling bt that shadow actually exist man.. how can they show something so superstitious in dailies...bt I kno wen they reveal the truth u'll come up with some masterstroke then n I jst can't wait fr that epi n ur take on that day.. 😆

seriously more than epi I'm excited fr ur take on that day... she's freaking physically present there ham...who can she make tea n cut tomatoes n dhanya..how can she be Guddi..caz guddi was taking nap in another room with different face naah..!!😕 khair ur right the suspense is going to be there fr 2 3 weeks more I guess. ..

Ohhh yesss Madhav has seen payal wali that day... n now he remembers that godown scene with minute detailing... bt yaar Ravish was not totally wrong wen he said Madhav was more than normal n chirpy wen he met his parents in delhi... there wer no sign of trauma then on his face.. khair I agree still Ravish needs to think a bit more laterally in ths regards as Madhav's condition is seriously bad right now...
Last bt not the least Madhav the chhotu bomb was Simply incredible as traumatic child Ham... the kid is blessed actor no doubt. .

Of course ur hardwrk can be felt in ur takes n ur immense writing talents gve a whole new perspective to even clich tracks Ham.. love u fr writing daily fr us sweets..😳

Hammie , with your awesome ability to write such fantastic reviews of this show ,
thousand words of praise for it is just not enough... 👏

Madhav just like his father uses drawing in showing what is going on in their hearts and mind that is troubling them...

I am wondering why this "Anklet" person has waited four long years to help Atharva now, where was she before and why not just change the drug that S-Suman uses for something innocuous to replace it with ,then Atharva would have been better by now...and why the cloak and dagger approach by hiding in S-Suman's house and trying to help Atharva and fooling an otherwise astute and cunning S-S after such a long wait ...😕

S-Suman has reached a colossal low even for her when she goes and drugs little Madhav just to keep control of her dumb plan...😡

Vividha will I am sure see to it as to why her son that was a normal little four year old has suddenly gone quiet and seems worried...Ravish is still not convinced that anything out of the ordinary has taken place... hope he wakes up soon before his loving mother that he adores rips his world right from under him...

Hammie , there is no mystery that you have a talent in you of writing that moves me and many others also...

Take care, star writer... keep your Lappie warm for the next episode...
