Sorry, but the comparison is very biased. Wom and reviews come into effect from the second day of release.
DDD was a multiplex movie only for urban niche audience. Also it didn't got the advantage of Post-IPL, which was took by TWMR.
On the other hand, BKD had mass appeal and sequel factor with a hit pair and chartbuster music.
Befikre and Dishoom, both had pathetic WOM, but Befikre was rejected right away from it's trailer. Dishoom's trailer got an average response. Again, Dishoom had much more mass appeal than Befikre. John is not a solo bankable star, but his presence added value to the film
BM was a period drama, not a popular genre, released on a non holiday. Clashed with a bigger film like Dilwale. SLB is a big director but he's not very consistent at box office.
On the other hand, ABCD 2 was a sequel of a hit movie , had more mass appeal than BM, solo release Shraddha is not as popular as Deepika or Priyanka, but she does has her own fanbase.
I only agree with Badlapur vs Kill Dil comparison. But it doesn't denies the fact that Varun is a bigger star than Ranveer.
