Varun Dhawan On Nepotism In Bollywood

Varun & Alia have finally so graciously ended this whole brouhaha. Varun very astutely points out "Why wouldn't a father help out his son? They're acting like their fathers never bought them one pencil box. ... It just becomes an excuse"

Alia, meanwhile, valiantly asserts: "[People who say there is too much nepotism] should be quiet."

Buying them pencil box is one thing, but helping them cheat in the exam is another.

But then I never associated Varun with any intellect so whatever.

What he is saying is not totally wrong. Star kids will get a chance anyway because they belong to a star family. Its easier for them to get movies even if they deliver countless of flops.

Instead, the problem is that outsiders don't get chance or they have to make compromises to get a chance which sucks.

So his father bought his way into Student of the Year ?

I get that they can't help that they were "lucky" enough to be born into Bwood families, but it might have been better if Varun worded it in a different way.

I understand how annoying it is for starkid but at the same time I can understand outsiders bitterness.

😲 Did she really say that? I don't want to watch the video b/c it will kill my brain cells, but seriously now? Why should people who have suffered because of nepotism or are still suffering be quiet?
