I can't understand why Omkara is so hell bent on keeping the TejVi relationship intact. I don't have IB knowledge so I don't really know whether these two had patched up or not. Regardless of them patching up temporarily and again being strangers like this, point is that they didn't really have the healthiest of relationships. As a child Omkara learned the reality that not all was well between his parents (ye alag baat hai ke despite that they ended up having THREE kids but ye also bohat purani baat hai 😆) In fact, Jhanvi had resorted to finding peace in alcohol because being with Tej was this torturous for her (why did they scrap this detail again?) Logically her children who are SO on her side would want her to get out of this toxic relationship for her own self.
Which brings me to Jhanvi. What does she see in this relationship? Divorce is a word strictly frowned upon in the Oberoi Khandaan, I get that. But Tej doesn't even treat her like a basic human being with feelings. What "love" is binding her to this man? Maybe the makers want to show that even educated and rich woman can fall into the trappings of patriarchal society ke Pati Nahin Toh Kuch Nahin.
And that makes me empathize with Tej. Yeah, I was so #TeamTej today because the man has resorted to ACTUALLY sawing his own bed in two to prove a point that this marriage is over. Man, this show takes symbolism to the next level 😆 Khair it was better than my previous assumption that Tej wanted to KILL Jhanvi with a chainsaw cuz that would've been...woah xD Point is that Tej was RIGHT in whatever he said in the scene. That he has done all he can to give Jhanvi an out. He doesn't want to live with her, he doesn't want to make things worse between them if that's possible; if Jhanvi would just understand it then they could've reached an agreeable divorce settlement. Maybe he's not right in simply saying to Jhanvi, "Get out of my house" because that's when her children interfering makes sense. But Tej's actions might be questionable, his intention isn't..he just wants this marriage to be literally over because really, there's nothing left in it.
Now, RiKara.
I know Gauri is the one who'd play a major role in untangling the crazy threads of Tej's family. And it started today. She gives Omkara the perspective which he lacks. He has all this frustration of watching this tamasha going on for YEARS. He's at his breaking point and that's where Gauri came in and she came in just right. By stopping him from breaking the statue, she figuratively stopped him from completely losing his faith. Omkara was throwing a tantrum that God wasn't doing anything and it took Gauri, a girl who breathes on Vishwas, to make him realize that it's not God's job to deal with domestic affairs. That's a human's job...God is just there to guide you and give you strength to deal with the affairs. That is something that really resonated with Omkara because he never looked at things this way.
Naysayers' major complaint with RiKara is that there's no "takkar" between these two. She's already so devoted to him that there's no fiery spark or intensity these two share. But just because they aren't polar opposites doesn't mean there's no takkar between the two. Opposites attract, that's true. But for a long term relationship one side HAS to become the same as the other. Black and White have to merge to be Grey for a sustainable relationship. Omkara's tantrum proved that right now what he needs isn't someone who will force him to change more, but someone who'd bring him back to what he used to be. Because even that was flawed. But this time when he'd go back, he'll fix his thoughts and philosophies which are frankly quite hypocritical in practice.
I loved how Gauri could calm him down. I loved how she said that he has a right to take out his anger at her and in return just LISTEN to what she has to say. And I loved how whatever she said had such an instant effect on him that not only did he see the error in his method but he also smiled. He actually SMILED. He smiled because she called a bad "palang". He smiled because Chulbul's simplicity was endearing to him. Why? Because Omkara lacks this simplicity in his life. He is surrounded by people who are scheming to get something or the other. There's lies and deceits and plans all around him and that has muddled his own perspective. Which is why he had treated Gauri the way he did (in Bareilly) But in comes Chulbul who has his own, untainted view of the world. And more than a cunning lady who would force Omkara to wake up at nights planning the next "chaal", Omkara needs someone who'll allow him to sit back and enjoy the small beauties of life. Of course when Chulbul's secret would be out, chances are that Omkara would turn even angrier at the world. But that's another din ka qissa...
(excuse the word vomit which might not have made any sense 😆)
