After watching today's episode and studying all the analysis of fellow members, I compiled analysis of why chatacter Mahek need not further persue the goal of changing and be with charcater Shourya Khanna.
Lot of insight came from various articles of forum members. It is only a compilation to bring various views under one heading..
1. As per story character shourya Khanna had 50 girlfriends+affairs, so fifty first will be no different for him.
2. He doesn't beleive in wives worshipping their better halves. To that extent his thinking is modern that there is no need for such blind belief. This is due to his childhood. Offcourse this doesn't justify his actions. Morever Mahek is only his adho adhuri biwi.
3. People don't appreciate what comes easy. Same with shourya Khanna. Mahek is throwing herself in front of him, justifying her actions that in his subconscious mind there is true love for her. It is so much deep down in his mind that it may take ages to bring it to his conscious mind. It may take her whole life, is it worth it?
4. Even if it achieves it, doesn't it look forced? Anything forced upon looks fake. Won't it be at the cost of lot of sacrifice which will be Burden they carry to their life together. wont it show up its ugly faces in their life together. Belief and trust which are very essential for life aren't getting slowly but steadily eroded from this relationship.
5. He is true to himself, by saying he is extremely selfish, loves himself and his ambition more than anything...
Somewhere is she also convinced about his success and unconsciously liking what he represents like status, wealth. Even after knowing that he used unthical means to acquire more wealth, more success and she is still supporting him indirectly though her outward superficial commitment is to get justice for the injustice mated to her.
6. There is a saying, "strength respects strength". By demonstrating spineless attitude, she is becoming victim of his devious actions. He knows each time he attacks, she and her family are becoming more and more vulnerable. His action becoming more damaging each time. Their life has hit the stroms without their knowledge.
7. Does this mean that is it bad to aspire for good things in life for e.g Mahek's entry to super cook competition which takes this middle class family to higher strata of the society.
No...
It only proves that competition is too much in this reality shows and one should be highly thick skinned to survive in TRP driven market linked entertainment world. You hv to hv very strong mind to withstand harsh realities of this show world.
In physics of atomic theory electrons continue to move in the orbits assigned to them attracted to the Protons. It takes lot of energy to bombard this electron to separate them their orbit. I see this analogy in soceity which is made up of classes and it rakes extreme hardship to break the class. It comes with its own price emotional or otherwise.
8. In fact, by seeing character Mahek, I started beleiveing more in the education of girl child and to teach to stand up on their own feet. Confidence, courage and conviction comes with what one achieves.
Mahek echos every aspect of middle class society. This no longer can be classified as love. This kind of submissive attitude looks more like weakness of all kind. She is attracted to this person and doesn't value herself. Unless she values herself she will not be respected. To gain respect she has not been equipped in her life, though she is supposed to be an extraordinary passionate chef. Along with this inherited skill she needs lot more skills to develop herself to fight shourya Khanna. Without equipping herself she is fighting battle.
9, Entrepreneurship needs lot more skills though core being passionate about what you are doing? Mahek's being passionate about cooking only limited or resticted is what shourya Khanna is taking advantage of. In fact, if we notice carefully shourya though sounds harsh he is telling hard truth to us.
10. Character shourya Khanna recognises her inherent talent and trying to nip in the bud any kind of competition and in turn threat to his acquired established status of successful businessman. Though she is posing no real threat. This also teaches us a lesson though u don't take urself very serious about the talent u hv in you world is not going to let u live in peace. By hook or crook they take away what is truly yours.
11. If anyone of you have watched movie "life of pi", in that hero/ protagonist Irfan khan as a child develops affection towards lion in the zoo of his father and tries to feed lion with affection. He sees kindness in lions eyes. His father says that you see the reflection of what feeling u think of in the animal's eye though it is not true. Mahek saw feeling of love, affection in shourya as she wished to see it but there was very little of it..
12. So it is very important one to be emotionally intelligent what is measured as emotional quotient EQ similar to IQ to lead a balanced life.
13. By saying one to be independent, i am in no way reducing the value of relationships in life. Relationships are life lines of life at the same time there's is no point in hanging on to a one way relationship.
"Letting go doesn't mean that you don't care about someone anymore.
It's just realizing that the only person you really have control over is yourself."
14. It is her adamant nature not to believe that her judgement about shourya Khanna was wrong is making her to continue her mission. Self righteous to the core.
Perseverance as a character is virtue when used to achieve a goal of ur life but not to a goal of changing another person while his only goal is not to change. Being independent thinking mind he has right to be himself however bad it is in the eyes of Mahek.
15. If u seriously think, there is nothing like right/wrong, it is ones actions which yeilds res**ts. One is going to receive results of actions whatever they may be. Shourya Khanna will get res**ts of his actions. Karma (Action) of his deeds going to be no different for him like any other human being. Mahek need not take that task in her hand, Yes, it might be possible if she stands for something and displays strength for all injustice done to her. It can only be in the stage which he believes in I.e business.
16. Having said that by virtue of his power, wealth and status he is going to make collateral damage to lives of Sharmas as he has been doing right from the beginning. It would be wise to attack such charcters with well calculated intelligent strategy or leave his world. An half hearted effort of mahek and wavered approach will leave her and family with enormous hurt and pain as we see now..
17. Is it wrong to fall in love? Is there is anything like that et.al. To give oneself completely without expecting anything and waiting infinitely for situation to change or person to change when he/she is equally convinced not to change. Then that kind of love will be completely unilateral and can be termed as own fantasy.
At the most she can admire his qualities and emulate some ( for e.g his character stands for raising above like phoenix from ashes after hitting rock bottom in life).
18. However modernistic may be our views yet all of us proving to be emotional fools while following episode after episode hoping that the abuses shourya Khanna hurls on her ends. This also shows how as a gender we are wired differently. Again it may not be bad that's how mother nature has built us but it is very essential for us not to fall in the trap.
In the wake of forthcoming international women day, I felt the need to put down my thoughts..
As a panel speaker on that day I was thinking of speaking how successful women made it to top and broke the glass ceiling, be it sports, science or any other field. But Mahek's story puzzled me at the same time perplexed and pained me.
People I am speaking of may be a very miniscule percentage of societywhile large percentage of them are Maheks, weak, deprived of their rights and tied to the age old societal norms.
Are we progressing or digressing??
This question haunts me always..
P.S: These are my personal opinions and in no way to hurt the opinions or views of fellow forum members. This is my POV and criticism, comments are most welcome as society is built by debate, discussion not by destruction of any possible threat..
