Saajid Khan and Cyrus Broacha promise to bring the house down with their wacky humour on their new show. The talented twosome compliment each other perfectly and are in tune with the current trends.

A VJ, stand-up comedian and a cool dude who is sporting enough to poke fun at himself, Cyrus Broacha is known for his wacky streak that makes him a different brand amongst the comedians on television. If there is someone who is insanely crazy and mischievous, it is undoubtedly Cyrus. Taking his naughty streak to another level, Cyrus wears the judging cap to find the Champion Chaalbaaz No 1.

On the other hand, Saajid Khan has been television's alternative entertainer. Armed with an abrasive sense of humour, he can destroy reputations with a wry smile and a tongue firmly in cheek. He doesn't need an introduction though he feels everyone in Bollywood does. And he has been introducing most of the top stars the way he sees them ever since his 1999 hit TV show Kehne Mein Kya Harz Hai. Viewers have seen him at his craziest best in the Best of Best and Ikke Pe Ikka which he has been hosting for the last 13 years. However, for a change, this versatile actor-cum-director is doing a serious role of a judge by joining funny man Cyrus on Champion Chaalbaaz.

Together they are a laugh-riot. While Saajid restrains himself a bit, Cyrus is a non-stop chatter box who comes up with the most whacky comments. Recently on Jhalak Dikhla Jaa Cyrus didn't perform well but danced his way to everyone's heart with his humour, wit and draped innocence. In fact, he left no stone unturned to ensure that the dance reality show looked like a comic show. "Comedy is in my genes," he says.

"And I do it all the time, not just on television screen." Ask him what made him sit on the jury's chair and he says he was offered decent money. "Generally, I don't get paid well. But when Sony promised to give good money I said yes. Besides, Saajid is a very good friend but I don't get to meet him very often. With this show I will at least get to meet him for three to four days in a month," he says.

Talking about the parameters for judging the contestants on Chaalbaaz Champion, Cyrus says he is not good at judging at all. "I am just going to sit there and Saajid will judge the participants. I will only repeat whatever Saajid says," he laughs, adding, "Since it's a fun show I will try to add more fun and make things entertaining." Adds Saajid on a serious note, "We will see how pranks are constructed and how they work. It's a laughter show and the contestants who entertain the most will get good marks."

In Saajid's opinion humour is difficult to explore. "Tragedy, emotions, action and horror work easily with mass audience and don't require language either. But comedy not only requires good language but is also the most divided genre. What makes the masses laugh will not make the elite do so. Humour works differently with different people," he says. Though as an anchor Saajid has made people laugh with his funny takes on Bollywood films and actors, he says he is a bad actor. "I am not talented but I am extremely intelligent. I am not funny at all, others are funny. It is why I make fun of others," he adds.

But he admits he is an extremely good observer. "Most of my humour comes from observing people. And I am a good observer because I don't drink. I also don't work with the script," he goes on. He would not like to act on TV unless it is sitcom.

"I acted only once in a film and I was absolutely terrible. But I did the film because of (late) Hrishikesh Mukherjee. On the contrary, I act better in real life. I am a performer but I don't have a face for screen," he feels.

His maiden directorial venture Hey Babby was a huge box-office success and Saajid is getting set to direct his next film.

On the other hand, Cyrus will continue with his anchoring and the funny man is currently acting in his close buddy Kunal Vijaykar film Fruit and Nuts. But television acting is a strict no for him. "I can't travel to suburbs every day. Four to five days in a month for my MTV shows are more than enough," he ends.

Whatever their future plans may be, right now the two friends are really kicked about their show.
