Tia has exited stage right, the chip is buried deep in the bowls of the Earth (I hope), Svet has packed her bags (with the witches brew and potions it seems) and moved to DBO and the phone waving Mrs. K has left with her 'adduri kahani' and 'adhurey aarman'.
All is right with the world in the OM again and peace reigns once more. So where does that leave ShivIka right now?
They are little 'Babes in the Woods' as far as I can see with the (supposedly) 'World Wise' SSO in slumber and the 'Taddibaaz' ASSO completely oblivious to her present situation.
We see a complacent Mr. & Mrs. SSO munching red juicy apples, lounging at the poolside or inside their private abode, playing their 'MFNP' games courtesy the ever omnipresent 'chakku' in their room and living in the secret garden of Eden where the world outside does not exist and hence they do not have to 'bare all'.
And so they will remain in such blissful oblivion to anything outside this 'Garden of Eden' if the snake does not enter and made them eat from the Tree of Knowledge. This Tree of Knowledge will not only force them to open their eyes to the naked truth but will also force them to see the ugliness that they would rather ignore, because it will compel them deal with this truth.
He pop's his head out of the sand (that he normally has it buried in and announces) "Annika Meri Biwi Hai"
That is wonderful news Mr. Oberoi and I congratulate you on this realization. Der Aaye ~Durust Aaye' as in 'Better Late Than Never'.
But just as it had been in the case of Tia's pregnancy, where you preferred to drag your heels, bury your head in the ever present sand dunes in your head and ignore to fight for what you wanted and thought was right, the same applies here in the case of Annika Meri Biwi Hai'.
It is nice to know that you had already accepted Annika as your Biwi a while back, judging from the confidence and the comfort level that you spoke it with. Have you had the time to inform Mrs. Annika Oberoi that she is your Biwi'??? Because from the inaudible gasp and slight dilation of the eyes, in that scene, it seems to be news that is 'hot of the press' for her as well! Or did you just assume she was going to read your mind one of these days during your 'MFPH' chakku games.
It seems that you constantly need a very volatile catalyst to keep moving your very lazy and slow paced relationship to the next level which I hope you are not going to make a habit out off.
Now for 'The Good, The Bad and The Ugly'
The Good:
- I can see Mother and Son in a similar situation right now with Pinky v/s Kamini & Shivvay v/s Daksh, both worthy adversaries for mother and son respectively. This should be a very interesting clash. If they had not shown Kamini sharing a, from what it seems, very colorful history with Shakti I truly would have been worried for Annika. Pinky would just have replaced Mrs. K with Mrs. R and her routine of 'Bahu Ko tadpaoo' would have just taken off from where she had left off.
- Prinku's outburst that proved that the girl may be in a very awkward situation but she does not lack pride and self-respect. I love that outburst even though it lasted only for under a minute. To me it spoke volumes of how much an Oberoi she is beneath that soft spoken exterior. Kudos to her!
- Shakti parting with Kamini on good terms. This should give Mrs. Pinky Oberoi a taste of what it is to deal with a Sauteen who is stuck to your husband like an 'oil stain on a whilte shirt' (in Annika's language). Karma is a b*%# and all the jabs that we had taken at Jhanvi and Annika have been sent back in the form of 'Kamini' dancing to 'Monica ~~ O My Darling' while Pinky chants 'Shaktiji ~O My Mata'.
- Shivvay having to face the prospect of Daksh back in their lives in the form of Prinku's 'sasuraal-waley'. This will be the actual test of his level of trust and commitment to his 'zimmedari' or 'zaroorat' choice where Annika is concerned. He will be shown to stand by his wife as that will be his first and most important' zimmedari' and he will learn to announce before the world that she is the most important person in his life and hence his 'zaroorat'. Please I do not misunderstand, as I do not for one second think that this man will ever give Annika up and that too to while Daksh still looms like a dark shadow in their lives but he will, now, have to do all possible to brand this relationship as Oberoi for the world to see so as to protect her from all harm.
The Bad:
We have many more episodes of heartburn and mood swings ahead of us as I do not expect an easy transition or change of course, but I do expect that it will show the beautiful growth that comes with a relationship tried and tested by such a hard ordeal. The time has come when Shivvay is going to find his inner strength to listen to his heart and heed it's advice even with the hollow lures the world throws at him in the name of NKK but that does not mean that this 'metamorphosis' is going to be an easy one for him.
The Ugly:
We know those already, don't we??
Pinky's taunts, Shivvay's hesitation and demons of the past, the repeated humiliation of the one person who has selflessly given for the good of the Family, Prinku's restraints on being able to stand up for what she really wants, Daksh causing bucket fulls of mich-miches with bucket fulls of water, Kamini throwing jabs and insults that are going to be borne with Shivvay's head bowed low (and us yelling blue murder while shaking our fists at the TV screen), Annika silently bearing all that is in store like a Lamb led to Slaughter and a very devious game being played with the Oberoi's again that is going to have us all hope that ShivIka have a plan for bringing this to a happy ending as well.
I have faith in the ShivIka relationship only because they have already proven to be such a Dynamic Couple to me. I do not doubt for a second that seeing Daksh on the scene and related to ACP Randhawa that the two have not already smelt a rat.
We have already seen the 'Bhaskar Award' performance of this couple where the NB's were concerned. I do not doubt that these two will start hatching an escape plan the hour after Daksh's departure.
Clues:
* Shivvay saying very offhandedly to someone on the phone 'Shaam Ko Aa jana'. Who was he speaking with?? We assume it was ACP but he never mentioned names now did he?? And that is not the way I would assume he would speak to the ACP of Prinku was in a position where they were at a clear disadvantage. And kahan aa jana?? OM or a secret rendezvous?
* Chomu (credit fizy_wizy) looking visibly upset at the treatment of Sahil by Kamini and his very open admiring look to Prinku. I did not see a smirk or look of disgust there?? Unless my eyes were playing tricks on me.
* Telling Annika on the phone that he was sure that 'She would handle everything'. That is a pretty calm attitude from a man who is very eager to marry his sister off to this particular family. Which client was so important that he had to arrive late to this very important meeting of the two Families? He was the one who had set this meeting up in the morning! So why did he not clear his schedule?? Besides good 'ol Khanna was with him and we know where Khanna is concerned both of them trust him with their plans now.
This is just my opinion but I think the stage has already been set and ShivIka have already laid the ground work for this. The only unforeseen unpleasant surprise will have been Daksh.
Very quick and random observation.
Daksh is Kamini's brother. True??
Kamini studied with Shivvay's father and Daksh studied with Shivvay. True??
So now here is the major mich-miche part. How old is Daksh?
