You have great points and brilliant write up and I agree to the most part but wasn't he the same person who took up drugs because of his parents infidelity now the same guy is turning aggressive when he knew the fact that his parents were going to split.Now yes I agree with he being the darkest character with strong personalities but he was the righteous person fighting for truth and real things where as shivay was fighting for his beliefs,now see with this current trend he is threatening people to leave their bread and butter mistreating women is what hurts most of us.If he was really strong he should have asked his mom to leave that doofus and not keep blaming every other women who have different situations in life.

Another point I think none of us would want either of the characters to accept this marriage perhaps gauri should stop forcing him which I think will not happen coz one has to fight for the story to move.

Thanks! Yes the changes in Om or at least the outward "effects" are a bit in your face sometimes! But when someone is determined to appear not what they used to be, they sometimes go a bit further than they normally would. But that lecturing almost school master type voice he speaks to Gauri in? He has used that voice even on Shivaay sometimes! Rudra, Ishana etc. So that is nothing new! Lol

As for his drug past? That was not about his parents marriage. We found out later that he took drugs because he covered up the fact that Priyanka ran over someone in his car. On her 18th birthday they were going for a drive and she asked to drive his car. He let her and she ended up hitting someone. They looked for the person but didn't find her. Both Priyanka and Omkara lived in massive guilt and finally it came out that the girl is alive but in a coma. She was the sister of an ACP. He was chasing after Priyanka for sometime to get revenge. (Once she confessed it was her that ran over the girl not Om) before the ACP was trying to get Priyanka to confess it was Om. (There was a smiliar track in Desperate housewives years ago, where Susan ran over someone and Mike her husband took the blame) the woman who died had a husband and he came after them. But he actually came after Mike, not knowing Susan was the real culprit!

Anyways, long story short, he started taking drugs out of guilt for hiding the truth. As for why Om doesn't tell Jhanvi to just "leave" Tej? I am sure they would ALL like that, accept Dadi! However, that would make life TOO easy for a creep like Tej. He will then marry Svetalana and force her on the family! I guess Om doesn't want that. Even if he married her, I don't think he plans to live in OM! It's all very messed up. But the truth is, coming from a dysfunctional family like this, it's not a surprise if he even became a basket case! The fact that he has turned more ruthless, inflexible and unforgiving seems like their way of portraying the changes he has chosen to make in his life. All this time Omkara was angry with his Father. He rebelled and didn't want to do business. He did his own thing and made money his own way. But now? Now he has decided to "take charge". Instead of being reactive he is now being proactive. First he took Svetalana away from Tej. Now I guess he is trying to plan some exit strategy for her! He wants to make sure that Tej does not control his Mother's life anymore nor be given a chance to victimise her.

The "escapism" that was Omkara's chosen path away from his family's dysfunction didn't work in getting the result he wanted. Now he is trying something else! Simple as that! Om is very flawed. He is in no way just a hot shayar! Lol There was always a lot more to him! Hence my fascination with him and even with Rudra, who is superbly nauanced but they never showed enough of his layers. But when they do, you can see what he is truly like! He has a "role" in the brothers equation and the family. He always does that Role! Same as what Om was doing. What Shivaay was doing. But now Om and even Rudra will change and take charge. I think THAT is the story of DBO!
