I wanted to give out my opinion somewhere on IF but this is the place where I feel free the most to do this. I guess the mods don't mind me doing this as India is ofc an Asian country.

I can proudly say that India is finally stepping out of its cliche stories and I'm happy that hotstar is supporting it. For me, 'Tanhaiyan' is the best love story of modern age. Trust me, I've watched many Indian series, around 200 K-D's. Finally a show where love and sex are talked in open, a show where its shown to respect the relationship we're in while living in the present. My favourite part in it is the concept of sleeping together by just holding each other. I wonder how two persons suddenly kiss each other and make love without ever sharing the comfort of sleeping together peacefully.

I especially loved Surbhi Jyothi's (FL) character who doesn't judge anyone (my fav K-drama of 2016 is Age of Youth from which I learnt not to judge any girl) and from this show I learnt not to judge any individual even when they have complete opposite views on life from me. I loved her definition of love.

For me, Barun Sobti's (ML) character din't offer anything as its designed as crap who changes his way of living through our FL, cliche right here but still its an amazing watch.

Tanhaiya has good direction, cinematography, background score, title song, famous faces of TV who can act, wonderful costumes and absolutely pretty setting.

Guys, do watch Kritika Kamra's shortfilm - white shirt. Its pretty good.

Hi, its been a long time.🤗

I disliked Tanhaiyan & don't get why everyone is going gaga over it. 😆
I do appreciate Tanhaiyan's attempt at trying to be modern. But personally for me, I found it too pretentious & fake. It tried too hard. I only saw the first few episodes as I couldn't watch beyond that. Barun's acting was bland in comparison to what he showcased as Arnav. I would recommend Bin Kuch Kahe on Zee TV if one really wants to watch a modern love story with an effortlessly charming & flirtatious ML together with a FL who is flawed & ambitious. It' like a sitcom from the writers of Aisha & its finite/pre-shot.😃

Planning to watch Kritika' short film. I'll let you know my opinion once I watch it.

Hey Sammy 🤗

I actually like such shorter versions of stories and I hope we get more of them, my opinion might change easily. If you only watched first few episodes then my opinion is the same as you as I just fast forwarded many scenes but it became better by around 6-7 episodes. It felt it was a pretty good attempt for 3 hours of story and yes, Barun's acting was bland (I din't get the right word but I couldn't connect with him at all).

Are you watching any other Indian show!! suggest me a good one...

I found it boring and such a cliche'..Nothing new..If its not for Barun & Surbhi none would ve watched it..

Kdrama mini series like Page Turner and Splash Splash Love are way more intriguing with unique concept!!!
