I will try to give a very very brief summary.
This is the story of a little girl Devanshi and Kusum Sundari. Both of them are considered by people to be saints with the power of making miracles. While Devanshi, who is known as Choti Mata, has indeed performed miracles, Kusum Sundari is a fake Mata who has turned the people's blind faith in her into a big business. She lives a double life. In front of the people she acts like a saint and behind closed doors she commits crimes to cover up her truth. She paralyzed her own husband, she is neglecting her son, Vardaan, and she is having an affair with a man named Mohan with whom she is also pregnant right now. Mohan and Kusum Sundari are partners in crimes and they are capable to do anything it takes to hide Kusum Sundari's true reality.
Certain circumstances have led to Kusum Sundari killing Devanshi's parents when she was just a baby girl. She was then adopted by Sarla who was Kusum Sundari's servant. Sarla adopted Devanshi not to do good deeds but for her own selfish reasons. She hates Kusum Sundari because for just one mistake Kusum Sundari punished Sarla and her husband to be away from the village for seven years. Sarla wants to put an end to Kusum Sundari's dominance by proving her fake and replacing her with Devanshi.
The story pre-leap has focused on how Devanshi along with Kusum Sundari's son, Vardaan, have tried to find out who is the culprit behind the murder of Devanshi's parents and the paralysis of Vardaan's father. And now they are very close to the truth.
