Hello, all you beautiful people!Happy Valentine's Day! #GagReflexOn
Let's get started. đ
1. Unflinching trust
The only people who truly ever have your back are the one's who have implicit faith in you. They hang by your every word not because you can never be wrong, but because they know that you will never say something that could cause grief to other's unless you were absolutely sure.
Naira halted the celebrations because she felt an unusual touch on herself. She spoke out loud, not caring about being politically correct. For her, what is wrong is wrong and she stuck be her words until the very end.
Naksh only had to hear the words from his sister's mouth and that was it. He flew into a fit of rage and started pounding the C's face. He didn't need validation from any one - her words were his pathar ki lakeer. He was so enraged that eventually he had to be restrained.
Kartik wasn't there when any of these things went down, but his first instinct was to trust Naira. He advanced towards C and was about to bash his skull in. But as always the Parampara, Prathishta and Anushasan walli family had to friggin' stop him.
Naitik though he said or did nothing in the episode - his emotions were conveyed when his family was holding him back. His princess was hurt and he would go the extra mile to protect her. He was right when he said that no apologies will be made to massage the G's bruised ego.
2. No explanations needed
Naira felt the need to justify her outburst to Kartik. But he promptly shut her up. Kartik did not need any explanation from Naira. If she'd said something, it must have happened. He might not have a way to prove it to his family, but he sure as hell made sure that she doesn't have to prove herself to him. If this would have happened with anyone, Kartik would have reacted the same. But the fact that it was Naira, he didn't even have to second guess his actions.
3. Hear me loud and clear
After all the drama that had happened at the Singhania house, Kartik reached home and made it very clear to everybody that he stands by what he said. If it was his sister's in N's place, he would have done the same. And even if it was a misunderstanding, it doesn't deny the fact that it was WRONG. I liked that he made his point very clear in the rest of that so called family of his.
4. Pride, Lineage and Ego?
Why do the friggin' Goenka's have that extraordinary air about them? Because they're loaded? The only thing those people are loaded with is crap. I hate making rant posts, but bear with me. If Manish Goenka was told by Kirti that she was being molested by her husband, how exactly would he react? No, Kirti it's a misunderstanding - he's Aditya ji - holier than thou, can do no wrong all because he is our damaad. You must be mistaken. And dadi? Is the respect of your damaad so important that you are willing to compromise your future bahu's self-respect, heck, this isn't even about self respect. This is about safety. They've known that C for so long, but just because their association is longer, it can magically override what happened with Naira? Dadi started with her stupid sob drama and the elders of Naira's family tried to salvage the situation. I'm sorry but if I were in Naitik's place I would really reconsider this marriage - Kartik is an amazing person, but if Naira has to live with such an unsupportive, untrusting family, I'd really have second thoughts.
5. Kirti - Naira
Kirti folding her hands and asking Naira to hold herself back really pissed me off. I get where Kirti is coming from. She is in an unhappy, abusive marriage and she knows that she is going to bear the brunt of this. She was trying her best to save that situation in the way she knew best because she knows her family well. They have such a regressive mindset and she has been unable to speak out because she knows that apart from Kartik, she has no support there. She cannot walk out of that marriage because the family she calls her own will not back her up. They will force her to stay in that relationship because their standing in society matters more than her well-being. I'm sure this is not the first time Kirti has been exposed to C's philandering ways. She must have seen this in the past too. And she's let things pass, but now reality is hitting closer to home. She has to speak up. I know that she will, because those folded hands of her's weren't just pleading Naira to hold back, they were a weary acknowledgement that Naira was speaking the truth.
Okay, guys. I really had to rant today. Sorry if this isn't up to the usual standard, but the Goenka's and their backward, patriarchal thinking really made me angry today.
