Well ishwari wanted a doormat bahu... so even after every member of the house asks the bahu to get out, the bahu should remain on the door step like a doormat waiting to be accepted back by the family... this is the definition of "ghat ki tulsi" in ishu mayya's terms...

Yes ishwari wanted a girl w/o would only sleep with her son when she wanted and also not interfere in household things. She wanted abahu only to give her grand kids but didn't want her son to love his wife. ishwari hated sona because Dev loved her. Dev listened to Sona on things that which he did not listen to ishwari. and so ishwari hated that sona had so much influence on dev. Dev wanted to give importance to both. but ishwari wanted herself to be Dev's only center, his only importance and only influence. ishwari wants DIL who is as good as furniture, who is there but is not seen or heard. one who will only listen and have no demands, opinion or voice. not a DIL who is independentm openiated and has mind of her own like sona .
