JNDSD~ My take~ 12TH February 2017~ discerning eye..
Life is largely based on first hand information we gather through our four senses. The visual eye helps us to make sense of our physical surroundings .The discerning eye helps us to observe and understand issues on a deeper level. Acuity helps us to understand issues , make decisions , draw meaning and conclusions that apply to our life. The observing eye and the eye of discernment have to go hand in hand to make us realize that things are not always as they seem! Their lies a difference between appearance and reality today's episode reminds me of the above mentioned.
The opening scene for me serves as a reminder of Atharv being interviewed by reporters about running his ,upcoming dairy business. He was open and truthful about his aspirations and ideals. Here to we see Ravish a soldier returned home after quite an ordeal , which the whole nation was tuned into. Like his brother Atharv, Ravish too is in the business of telling the truth. Quite firmly he turns down any statements which insinuate about Vividha being his wife.. he does speak the truth as he would like to see it, that Vividha is the Vashist families DIL but not his wife, but that of his older brother's Atharv s wife. Here Ravish not only clarifies Vividha's true status in the family ,but boldly acknowledges and announces to the world of Atharv as being his elder brother. Here thus to me he actually legitimizes his relationship with both Sujata and Atharv..that which his father Ramakant was short off in doing ,but left it up to Ravish to do. Ravish today accomplishes that obedience task, much to the horror of his mother Suman. So far to her, soldier son does all just to shock her.
What interests me , is how easily Ravish speaks to the world about his relationship to Vividha tradition based but not that of the heart. Is he really sounding off to alleviate his brother Atharv s insecurities regards his love for Vividha? In making Atharv and Vividha an examplar of true love before the press , Ravish to me is actually reaching out to Atharv .. for all the wrongs that were perpetrated by the vashisht family towards Atharv Sujata . Simultaneously he raises himself in Vividha's eyes too, when he confirms that he was only taking care of her till he found Atharv , and also appeals to his preoccupied broody brother.. Ravish , words used earlier for Atharv, come to surface, now that he knows him he will not leave him!
Ravish is neither stingy nor sparse in his words to the press, in praise of Atharv and Vividha's exceptional prowess.. that contributed to his freedom.oh yes Ravish blessed them both. To me they are the super trio. However where Ravish is able to talk readily about his assumed or rather existing wedding to the reporters. ..
Atharv is not so forthcoming , his love for Vividha is sacred and personal and so are his internal family matters! The press quizzes him mercilessly, instead they get his cold front and pressed lips .. about those questions that date back to the complications in their lives.. the dark side and then the dark abyss that he went into.. the vortex in his mind. The only query or rather the question when are him and Vividha marrying seems real, but alas! for Atharv the answer is on hold.. so his silence keeps the answer blowing in the wind.. Vividha flies to his defence by two words no comments! Such irony as Vividha knows the answers to the questions he is asked..in fact she narrated all to him those three months of his oblivion. Yet even now Atharv is unclear about the date of his wedding day?
Enraged is Suman by her son's confessionary mindset , then Vividha's bailing out Atharv from the vulture like clutches of the press, and now spotting engagement rings on Atharv s fingers!! No wonder she feels hard done by! suspects she is cheated, by these ingrates! Mother and son who robbed the joys of this mother and her son Ravish . Suman fails to understand that the time was not right to be told of Atharv and Vividha's engagement, as Ravish was dealing with terrorists.She probably sees it as tables being turned ! but I see this as the hand of providence.
Atharv should be pleased Ravish has in no uncertain words clarified to the world , to Vividha and him, that nothing exists between Vividha and Ravish . But Atharv is far from restful..even after Vividha reiterates .His forlorn puzzles her. As for him ,he probably is consumed by the fact that Ravish is clear. But that's not enough for Atharv ,he wants to hear it from Vividha's mouth, that she has made her choice and its him! Ravish's words bear weight but how can Atharv deny what his eyes show him?.. that Vividha heart wants Ravish ..
Sujata is sensible enough to see that their presence causes discomfiture to the family seeing all is well she tells Atharv they should return home. Sujata is conscious that Atharv and Vividha's presence may cause hurt to Suman.
Atharv is never too far from the fact that Vividha was Ravish s wife and the end of their relationship perhaps still exists as a regret in the eyes of the Vashist house hold. Further more seeing Vividha's letter in the drawer forces him to think back over Vividha's words.. why can't he shake off her words from his mind? His heart knows she is the only soul mate he has ! then why do his eyes betray him? They numb his understanding .. why does his love fail to perceive all that she was to him ? is she not the same to him like before? She even wears the ring of his name.. Vividha too is weary and heavy laden by the fact that Atharv refuses to see that she loves him.. what more proof does he need? Can his heart not sense what she feels for him and him alone? how can she put an end to his insecurities forever? Ravish too is pensive yes he loved Vividha but he can see some distrust in his brothers cold avoiding eyes.
Ravish wants to hold the bull of Atharv's doubts .. he has too! to fulfill his promise to Vividha that he will unite them. heart to heart...bromance ,male bonding ,whatever one wants to calls it. In the silvery moonlight Atharv saunters out.. carries Ravish's jacket over his arm.. offers his mantle of concern to a brave wounded soldier,. Atharv wants Ravish warm protected from the cold.Himself, Atharv looks for some warmth too? or is he still looking for clues regards Ravish, Vividha relationship? Ravish teases a somber Atharv .. how come even after getting his love Atharv still seems unhappy ? Ravish is direct does he think Vividha loves him? Atharv too jests he never knew that being an army guy he is trained in reading minds too!
The comfort level between the brother is just right. Atharv may not show it ,but he is at ease to confess to Ravish ,that his thinking is based on what he sees and thus makes sense of. Ravish challenges him that if that were so, that Vividha loves him than he is a bigger fool to let her go.. yet he reversed their marriage willingly. He tries to make Atharv see that had she loved him he wouldn't have broken his bond with Vividha .
How Atharv defends Vividha.. before Ravish who purposely reminds Atharv that in this day and age girls give less value to relationships and are more keyed into which bloke can give them a more comfortable life ! Atharv protests with great conviction Vividha is not one opportunist girl.. she values, honors and understands relationships! It's time for Ravish to say what he felt about Atharv all along.. good!he knew Atharv loves Vividha! love fills the heart completely without gaps.. has no room for doubts to creep in!
Atharv is honest enough to admit.. yes he doubts but they are are not unfounded as they are formed on the basis of what he sees! Clearly Atharv needs to understand that what appears before the naked eye may be an illusion created by some misgivings..
Ravish still wants to help clear his brothers uncertainty ..and he interrogates Atharv wants to know the root cause of this mistrusting Vividha? Hamlet53 13.2.17
An overall sentimental episode ,its cvs veering us back to the track , a love triangle. Hoping to see an intelligent approach. like today for me the highlight was Ravish , Atharv dialogues ..vividha was not party of the trio but she still was the topic of discussion. Tomorrows highlight is timely . whether Vividha signs the divorce papers or not , it will reflect on how her love for Atharv progress.
