Ten on ten!
By any standards, the Sony 10th year birthday bash on Saturday night at the Grand Hyatt was one of the city's top soirees of the year. Yes, the complaints of all major movie stars not being in town persist, but who needs 'stars' at the party of a TV network that believes in creating its own. So all around, whether on stage (mostly singing off-tune) or at the floor (dancing for the camera), you could see Sony's homespun celebs – basically faces that have entered our living rooms thanks to a myriad talent hunt episodes. Not that the A-listers gave the show a miss either. It's just that a completely packed party venue the size of a shopping mall, with corners you could get instant massages, about a dozen bar counters, a huge open-air area for hookah smokers… you just can't celeb-spot. All we can say is that whoever we did spot seemed in highest of spirits. And we guess that's what matters.
