The Sheer Brilliance of Karan Chauhan & Naina Solanki today!

OH MY GOD. What a brilliant, charged, stupendous confrontation!!!! When it started, I was thinking how today's post was going to be dedicated to Karan Chauhan . But then Naina Solanki happened. And I was completely blown over. You are so sneaky creatives. You give us random bits in precaps which makes us think this conversation will be predictable and then show us THIS!! It was nothing what we had thought about!!!

Let's start with Karan Chauhan. I don't have words to describe you. (Actually, I do. Considering I'm going to write paragraphs on your brilliance today 🤣). He started by saying that Naina didn't need to apologise. Yes she had made fun of him, but then he had also made fun of her. And he apologized for that!!! Then he explained to her, in full and patient detail, why he asked her to go. Because they were both forced into this. Because they have no relationship, something that is not conducive to having a gathbandhan. That's why he opened it. Because they shouldn't be asked to sustain this relation since it was forced. Because they were both prisoners of circumstances. And then he said that she was free to go whenever she wanted and that nobody would stop her. Can we take a moment to appreciate this!!! Here is a man who has issues with his family, who can't speak up but still gave her the assurance with full confidence that Nobody will stop her!! This shows that he has that confidence in himself, for standing up for her if need be!! What a beautiful, beautiful scene.

He also mentioned how he had told her that people judge him from a distance and she had done the same. But added with a rueful smile that it was okay, he was used to it. Underlying his entire monologue was his disappointment at this, which we discussed at length yesterday. Throughout this conversation, he did not once raise his voice, did not once try to intimidate her, did not once try to blame her. Just gave her cold, hard facts. Without any pretense or window dressing. And this made it all the more impactful! Karan Chauhan you are a gem!

Then comes Naina Solanki. She was listening to all this quietly and then when he was done, she began. And completely owned him!! She asked him direct questions because as she said, he was understanding her politeness to be her weakness, which it wasn't by any stretch of imagination. She gave it back to him fully, in the same manner as him. Cold, hard facts. She told him that she took this decision on her own. For her sister and her mother. But if he had such a problem, why didn't he refuse? He, the ladla beta of the Chauhan khaandaan, why didn't he say no? And Karan was taken aback for a bit. You could see it in his face. She said she will undertake this relationship with honesty and he can do whatever he wants. Naina made it clear today that she has the strength to stand by her decisions. Her mother's swabhimaan, by her mother's admission, was linked to this relationship so she will be damned before she gives up on it. She held her own till Karan left the room. And then, her strength gave away and she broke down. Not because she is in love or anything. Simply because her life has been thrown into an even greater turmoil than before.

Naina also surprised me today. I was thinking that she will take time to find her ground, will indulge Karan etc etc. But he pushed her to her limits and she gave it back to him in kind. It makes her so human. Both Karan and Naina needed to face the questions they asked each other today. Now that they are in the open, they know where they stand.

So here we are, battle lines drawn, to see where this beautiful couple takes us!!

Ah, Karan. Am loving this guy more and more with each passing day, honestly. There's no hate, no resentment for Naina in his heart. Yes, her mocking him left its impressions - but he isn't petty enough to still cling on to those. As he told Naina, she insulted him, he insulted her (and added that she, too, must have felt bad) but these were small things considering the larger issues they were stuck in. And he wasn't above apologizing either, I loved that bit! Without any hesitance, he said sorry.

And then, his monologue 💔 We already deduced that Karan wasn't trying to "set" Naina free just because he, himself, is feeling suffocated by this marriage but because he believes its best. He doesn't want her to be stuck in a forced marriage as much as he doesn't want to be stuck in one, either. I agree, marriage rituals are sacred - but then, it is also my belief that those rituals get their true meaning if both parties really feel it. Want it. Without wanting it you are just clinging in to an empty skeleton. This is where NaiRan have to reach - they have to develope a relationship before thinking about their marriage, imo.

Btw, I really loved the details in that scene! Karan walking up and down. Clinging to the guitar, at one time (like his chaata), then playing with the flame of the candle. He does look at Naina when he talks, but he can't keep up looking for too long, me feels 😆 - Baby steps, lol.

Naina - what to say about her? I really was surprised to see her give it back to him fiercely 😆 Thought he might leave and she'll start crying but no, she gave him a good piece of her own mind! What I find very interesting is that Karan gave Naina the option to leave this forced relationship and be free - and Naina gave him the option to fullfil this relationship as he likes, e.g. with hate. They are not forcing anything on each other.

Chauhan family ke laade chote bete ho na. Shadi ke liye manna kyun nahi kiya? - Oh, Naina, hit a nerve, once again, have you? 😆 I think there are two factors here: one, Naina has seen Karan interact with herself during which he is fairly confident. Two, there's always this notion with us that girls can be forced but boys rarely can. Adding to that, her telling him that she wasn't forced into this, her family was actually against this marriage- keep hitting his nerves 🤣 But love it that these two are so open with each other! Jo mann mei hai, bol diya.

Lastly... he was backing off 🤣 Naina kept coming closer while talking and Karan kept walking back 😆

I agree. I did not think her limit would come in their first conversation. But it was so refreshing. She will give him chances, indulge him a bit but she is no pushover!

Karan surprises us everytime!! Just yesterday we were saying how we don't attach any credit to his words of hate and all and so right we were. This was a completely different tangent!! He was never against her, but against this whole idea of forced relationship. I loved loved loved it when he explained to her what a gatbandhan means!! And yes, the walking around bit, so well done. Aur usne itna hi dekh liya Naina ko, vahi kaafi hai. 😆

I loved it when Naina questioned him!! She doesn't know anything yet, but she was right in her points in as much as she knows. She felt that Karan can't just wash his hands off this relationship if he simply opened that gatbandhan. It doesn't work like that. It happened in front of everybody and her mother's swabhimaan depends on it. So he should have refused outright if he had a problem, not follow this underhand method!

Yes, they both didn't force each other at all! It was beautiful!

Exactly. There's no hatred laced in his words or actions. He is not out to hurt Naina. In fact, I think he believes he might even save her from being hurt because of the way he is. He is already living in some kind of jail, the marriage added to his suffocation and the last thing he wants is to share this with anyone. Husband and wife share their life with each other - but for that, there needs to be a solid relationship between them and NaiRan have to still build-up theirs.

She questioned him on the basis of what she knows 😆 And she was right in her place. From her PoV, he married her in front of everyone - if he had such a huge problem with it all, he should have just refused instead of doing little tricks hidden from others' eyes.

It's actually heart-breakingly funny 🤣 Around Karan, Naina's walking on a mine-field and without knowing it, setting off bombs left, right and center 😆 She wanted to start on a fresh note, and am sure will still try to be at least friends yet, unknowingly, keeps hitting his sensitive spots. We were talking about how we wanted the guilt to pile up before Naina finds out certain truths? CVs humari kuch zyada hi sunn rahe hain - poor Naina, how will she feel once she sees what actually Karan's status is in that family? 😆
