Raees scores Overseas, WW total 226 crores

Raaes has done very well in the Overseas markets with business of $10.50 million in its extended first week. The film is best in Gulf where it has grossed $4.5 million and will probably be the second highest grossing Shahrukh Khan film after Dilwale and possibly the fifth or sixth highest grossing film ever in Gulf. The apprx Overseas business of Raees from the major markets is as follows.

United Kingdom - 975,000

US / Canada - $2,800,000

Gulf - $4,500,000

Australia - Au$775,000

The film was released in Indonesia on Wednesday while Friday will see it in theatres of Germany, Austria and Switzerland while markets like Egypt, Jordan, Peru and Pakistan are pending. The worldwide GROSS of the film is 226 crore which puts it into 21st place in the all time list. Its a weird scenario that the film has under performed especially in India but it will still be the second highest Worldwide grosser of all time for the first half year (Jan - Jun period). This is a lot to with schedule of releases as the big ones tend to come in the second half and it was the release delay which took Raees to January.

Its a totally different scenario from the past when the first half of the year could also have the huge grossers be it a Kranti, Ram Lakhan, Aankhen, Border and Gadar and these are the real huge ones while there were many others. Even Krrish (2006) was a first half release. Now with only one film in top twenty (Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Raees will eventually make top twenty) pretty much shows the difference between the Jan - Jun period and Jul - Dec period.

Kaabil has grossed $3.5 million apprx Overseas and its Worldwide total in nine days is 115 crore.
