Disasters also come with lovey dovey moments. I miss the forest and their tent. I've to get used to USA part. In last 2 chapters I had to travel a lot with Swasan!

Sorry this chapter was shorter than previous ones as I have another one that screams for my attention. So here it is!



CHAPTER 20



Edward Fletcher, the GCS of Interpol,Washington DC introduced the new entrants with their colleagues . Swara and Sanskar got a warm welcome from their new colleagues as they learnt about their recent dangerous mission.

Swara had a lot of formalities ahead, as it was her joining day. It was decided she would attend the hospital side only after her wounds getting healed. Before that she would learn her ways around about how a special force like Interpol works.

Christmas was only after two days. So Sanskar was assigned to share the extra workload as the agents were going for vacation in cyclical orders. Swara also offered her help in paper works as her right hand was perfectly fine. Kiara was going to celebrate the Christmas with her family living in Ann Arbor, Michigan; accompanied by Ayaz.

At lunch time all the agents were seated together in the cafeteria . It was their time for socialising and venting out the intense pressure associated with their job. Thea Roberts,a genius hacker working in the IT section drew their attention. Obviously she was a tech junkie but not at all an introvert like most of the hackers out there.
" Hey guys! Today a new recruit is with us and our old friends are back. We can't call our new as SB, we already have Steve Bernard. I don't want to call her as SB2!"

"Give her a nickname guys! " Steve suggested casually.

Swara looked at them quizzically. Sanskar muttered, "It's a normal process! Using initials helps a lot to hide our identity."

Mike Davis, a junior recruit suggested, " How's Rapunzel? She has pretty face,big brown eyes, long hair, was a prisoner! We can call her RB!"

Sanskar glared at Mike, not liking the fact Swara looked flustered hearing his praises. Not done! "Only I've right to give her compliments. My Swara should be blushing cause of me, not that stupid Mike!"

"Good job MD, that's cute! I guess it's okay for ya all?" Thea chirped, and gave Mike a thumbs up.

"No! Not that name!... I mean... It's kind of childish!"Sanskar almost shouted. It wasn't fair at all! Someone else shouldn't get a chance to keep a name for her, which sounded almost like an endearment...

"Nightingale! You can call her NB!" Kiara butted in, smirked looking at Sanskar , lifting a brow, "What? She sings well and it's not a fairy tale name! Kind of reminds me of Florence Nightingale, the lady with the lamp."

"Arrgh!Totally hating this!" Sanskar muttered under his breath. But nodded showing his approval. At least he would prefer Kiara over Mike any days, in the matter of naming Swara !

"Bad news Chief ! Our targets are not in London! Even Bose family moved from there." Nirav declared in front of everyone

"I'm not surprised! If they were smart enough to flee from here,then they're not going to return there anytime soon . What about their working places?Did you get any clue from there ?" Chief Nakshatra said as a matter of fact.Several lines formed above his brows.

" That's the worst part of the news! Our Sanskar Oberoi is an imposter! The real Sanskar Oberoi has been in coma for six months and his wife is dead."

"WHAT? Vikash?! You said you did his background check. Then what's this? How could you make this blunder?" Chief roared in anger

"I DID CHECK EVERYTHING!" Vikash sounded frustrated " What can I do if the medical school and University College Hospital website had fake photos?How am I supposed to know that someone had changed them before we did the background check?"

Agni knew the fault was not entirely of Vikash. He was trumped by his own cards, hacking. That fake Oberoi and Dr Bose had turned the tables on them very cunningly. He said in grave tone,
"Falcon and Kitty met everyone related to Dr Oberoi . Friends, family, colleagues even neighbours! It is now confirmed that our prisoners double crossed us! That imposter entered the camp with a hidden agenda."

Ragini had been silent till now.She spoke out in a robotic voice, " I can tell you one thing, that fake Sanskar was very strong as a fighter and sharpshooter. The moves he used on Laksh were similar to US commando techniques, very precise and brutal. He almost single handedly killed our 10-12 men and rescued Dr Swara."
"Almost? What do you mean by that?" Arjun sounded confused.

"Someone called AK joined that ***** at the last moment!" Laksh gritted his teeth. Except Ragini nobody could guess the actual amplitude of his frustration. He couldn't forget the pain of rejection, the jealousy, the vacuum that had been residing his heart since he crossed his line. Moreover,bitterness and craving for vengeance were slowly filling the void, making it impossible for him to return.He had lost his drug, Swara, who was nowhere to be found! Except one clue- a sleeper cell had spotted her going inside Mumbai airport but he didn't know the destination.

Naina hacked the passenger lists of every flights that day.But none of them had the name of Dr Swara Bose in the passenger list. Then Falcon and Kitty gave Nirav the most shocking piece of information, hence the emergency meeting was called today.

"So now you're getting angry, Laksh? Didn't you bash your mates for trying to finish them?If you still have some shame left then just shut your mouth!",Chief taunted Laksh, cleared pissed off, of his son and of themselves too,"Looks like that imposter was a spy. And Dr Bose hid her boyfriend's identity very well!"

Yudh had a triumphant glint in his eyes. In a gloating voice he spoke out, "I knew they were troubles! I'm 100% sure they had hand behind those attacks too! Don't worry chief,I'll personally handle those traitors!"

"At first we've to shift our camp ASAP! Yudh and Hades, you're needed elsewhere. Something big is coming up very soon! Come with me!"Chief Naksh commanded.

"So Swara,or should I say NB,liked your new alias?"They were going back to home after a long day at HQ. Ayaz and Kiara had left way long before in the afternoon , for their trip to Ann Arbor.

By any other name would smell as sweet!...", Swara replied, " I'm the same old Swara for you!"

"Romeo and Juliet right?"Swara smiled as Sanskar stated," But you know I can't settle for Nightingale or NB!"

"Haan haan, auron se alag jo hona hain tumhe, hai na? Kya Sanskar, naamkaran toh ho gaya na? Tum log aab to mere naam ki piche bekar time waste karna bandh karo! "

"Tumse judi huyi kuch bhi bekar nahi, Samjhi? Aur haan, mujhe special treatment chahiye! Ek special naam dene ka haq chahiye!"

"Ummm... theek hai! Par hisab barabar hona parega! I want the same favour too! I will call you... umm... Sun!"

"Sun! So you find me great,amazing, the best and centre of your attention!" He smirked looking at her.

"In your dreams!"She hit him on his shoulder."You can't ever stop flirting,na?"

"Can't help myself sometimes!Purani aadat jo hai!"He raised his brows and shrugged.

Her face turned pale in an instant. She looked away and taunted, "Oh?Purani aadat? Here I wondered what's wrong with me? Why you've to irritate me so much? Jaise maine tumhare kuch bigada! Par tum to sare ladkiyon ki saath flirt karti ho!Silly me!What else can be expected from you? Boys will be boys, right?"

Sanskar smiled inwardly and gave an innocent look,"Hey,don't blame me! I was not always like this ok?Main toh bilkul sidha sadha shareef banda tha. Fir ek mangetar mila, socha shadi ke pehle thoda sa flirt kar loon... Phir toh bhag ke shaadi bhi kar li! Par woh mujhse chodkar bhag gayi. Woh gayi par woh aadat nahi!India mein kahi reh gayi hogi mere dil todkar!"

"Tsk tsk!Bechara! But you're not any less than her! Being a married man you're hitting on your colleague openly!Biwi ko itni jaldi bhul gaya kya?"

"Yehi toh meri problem, you know? I just can't forget her. You're just like her...That why..." Then he whispered, "Ussi ki jaisi khoobsoorat!...Suna tha tum bhi shaadishuda ho!"

Swara leaned towards him,whispered matching the mischief, "Ha, par meri nalayak pati bhi bhag gaya, woh bhi tumhara patni ki sath!"

They looked at each other's faces for a moment, then burst out in laughter. Sanskar pulled her in a side hug,
"I should thank your idiot hubby then. He eloped with my monster wife, and left a Nymph for me!"

"Kya? Main monster hoon?"she started punching his chest in fake anger. Sanskar caught her fist in a jiffy,and pulled her towards him. He tucked the rebellious tresses of hers behind the ears and purred," Who told you're the monster? The girl in front of me is a Nymph, she came here with me leaving that spring in the forest... Got it Ms. Nymph Bose? Aur ha... Nayi naam yaad rakhna! "

"Hey, buddy!We reached your apartment!" Thea interrupted their moment as she knocked the door of her electric blue RL5 Honda Odyssey,or her hottie' as she called it."Hey SSR, didn't know you two are a thing!"

"Thanks for the lift! And no!We're not... a thing!... not yet" Sanskar uttered the last two words under his breath. It was really awkward. He gave a fake smile, whereas Swara blushed again and almost ran inside the building. Blushing is becoming a routine work for her,isn't it?

"No mention!Tomorrow MD will get your car here." Then Thea laughed, "Good luck with your cherry,SSR! Carry on with whatever you had started" and winked!

Sanskar ran his fingers through his hair, grinning,"This wait is getting harder than I thought . Everytime I lose my control before her! I really need to confess soon! Par kya karoon?Once upon a time my Nymph wished for a magical love story!I'll make the beginning of our never ending journey, our happily ever after so beautiful that she'll never forget it!"

24th December 5.00 a.m.

A sudden ringing noise broke Sanskar's much needed deep slumber. He had to cope up with the hectic day at work the day before and would have to for upcoming days. He picked up the phone call, not wanting to disturb Swara who was sleeping in the room right next to his.

"Hello,who is it?"He asked in a sleepy voice,still not opening his eyes.

"Hey SSR, Shinde speaking! Our star moved finally.The hard work of Dr Bose and you for that mission has started to payoff."

Sanskar jerked up from his bed.He was completely alert now." Hello Sir.Did you get any new lead on them? What's the situation there?"

"Our IT section retrieved some recordings few hours back.Those recordings left us concerned. Listen SSR , you've to be very careful now! They know about real Dr Oberoi and guessed you're somehow associated with law."

"That was pretty obvious,I'm not shocked! We're perhaps on their most wanted list.Do they know about our current location?" Sanskar asked him.

"Not yet. But they have planned something else too! And this is serious matter! Unfortunately DC branch will have to handle it only!"

"What?"Sanskar really wanted a temporary break from the Black Wolves for few days.But fate had other plans, it seems.

"Yes!This time it's worth putting up several red alerts. They planned to attack the capitals of multiple countries this time,thirteen to be precise.Inform your colleagues and seniors immediately. We'll have a video conference on exactly 7.30 a.m, according to US timing. " Shinde informed him .

"Can you tell me ,how much time we'll have in our hands?"Sanskar knotted his brows.

"Not much! As the name they used for their plan was, OPERATION MERRY CHRISTMAS!" Shinde concluded in a grave tone.
