At the outset, I'd like to say that I didn't really want a forced marriage twist. In fact, in the beginning, I'd wished that both couples only fall in love and then marry. But since it's not my story, I'll go with the flow and analyse what is there. However, the forced marriage twist did bring forward something - the immense love that sisters have for each other.
That the sisters loved each other was always known to us. But the depth of that love has come out in this sequence. Both Meghna and Naina took decisions, for each other, for each others happiness. They were both equally selfless. And equally, a tad bit selfish too. But only for each other. The only difference was that one will get to see her decision to the end, the other was stopped by her mother's kasam. Let's look at the decisions in chronological order.
15 minutes. That's all Naina had. Her sister was married, her mother was inconsolable. She knew how far her sister had gone in her relationship. In the face of all this, there was really no other decision she would have taken. Were there better options than what she took? Possibly. But none of them were really feasible at the moment. Court cases can build acrimony further and the society that was standing with them would have not taken a moment to turn against them, its fickle. Also, in this situation, your mind starts playing tricks with you. A voice in your head says that the only reason you are thinking of options is because you don't love your sister enough to take the hard decision. This is horrifying for a sister and leads you to only one decision - the one Naina took. But the one thing she was still holding on to, her one light in this entire darkness was the fact that she was going with her sister. That one thought was enough for her to sustain herself. To go into this calmly. Because that is how much she trusts her sister. How was she selfish? Because she didn't think of Karan at all. She has had enough interactions with him to understand that he wouldn't want this. But she still went ahead. Because her sister is above all.
When Meghna found out, she wasn't simply shocked. She was aghast, distraught and furious. How can her sister, her Cheeku even think of doing this? How can she let go of her dreams, her future? Meghna has never given this right to anyone. Not even Naina herself. And that to only for Meghna's happiness? Never. She can never think of her happiness at the cost of her sister. How can she be happy if it is built on her sister's life? She begged, she pleaded, she cajoled. And then took a decision, That she won't go at all. She won't embrace her new life if her sister has to compromise. Because her sister is more important than any happiness she will ever get. Truly, truly selfless. But again, a bit selfish. She didn't think of Kunal at all. And this is before she found out that he is not supporting her. But then, truly understandable as well. Because, its all for her sister. He mother didn't let her do it. Her last plea to Naina when she was leaving was so heartbreaking! Naina stopped and looked. Sharda had to take her away because no matter how calm Naina is right now, she was incapable of moving then. So much love, so much emotion. All for each other.
They will need each other always. They're entering a new house. Meghna is bitter, Naina is resigned. They'll be each others support. Of course, they are going to clash in future. Its a clash of ideologies, with no one wrong. But no matter how far they drift, they'll always find their way back to each other. Their bond is too strong, their emotions too deep, to break apart.
I'd like to also mention the actors. The scenes are so good because Sangeeta and Ankita share a fabulous chemistry as sisters. They've both mentioned how they connected from the first day and are like soul sisters. How Ankita is a mastikhor and Sangeeta indulges her just like an elder sister. How Ankita got Sangeeta addicted to selfies and instagram. Its all so endearing. The photos and videos they both put up are so adorable!! Nazar na lage!
