JNDSD~ 29th January, 2017 ~ The signs of time
Evidence can be tangible or a trail of events that very often help in reaching a summative conclusion. If only all is life was simple.. is assuring enough that we are immortal and live forever that , in time no harm will come our way. But time teaches us that we are mere mortals.
If yesterday's episode was evident about birth and life . Then today's episode is a chilling reminder that once life is proclaimed ,death too is inevitable. To everything that is born comes a state of disintegration . As such us humans strive to ensure the safety of our lives, for it can be exposed to losing it anytime ,anywhere. Life is a one precious gift granted to us from the heavens and as such, it's much guarded either by ourselves or protected by others such as our loved ones like Vividha acts the shield for her Atharva .Then there is the soldier Ravish who offers protection to the lives and property to his nation. But to every beginning comes an end. What a marvel that we never know how, but somehow we manage to dodge death and live another day...
It is hard and fast rule that both man and beast both are territorial beings and mark areas as belonging to them. To me the stage is set in the tabela.. it is Atharva s territory which he now lays open for Vividha to share formally when the time is right . But It's also a know old move that territories can be infiltrated by outsiders who are then deemed as predators for a variety of reasons. The predator may well want to overthrow the existing rule and maintain supremacy over a territory. He played psychological mind games with the families by disturbing and disrupting their way of life in the kingdom. He may attack to retrieve his own belonging unlawfully kept in the infiltrated kingdom. The predator uses war stratagems' well before attacking the foe.. he kept the targeted area, his possession and his foes under tight surveillances before the final attack. Crucial information is gathered to access the affairs of the other side. He had the weapon figured out ,even the vantage point from where in the attack would take place! All was meticulously planned when Atharva would be in a sitting duck position, off guard , digressed , with his darling daughter Vividha as a decoy! That would be the moment of attack! In hindsight Atharva sleeps outside and stands vigil to ensure safety of his cows .. by whose grace he makes an honest living. Only yesterday he assured the ladies to relax as he's about to keep an eye on things.. Yet it is in broad daily he is attacked! and that too in the rear where the attacker , manages to assault him with a sharp object , in the hope of killing him all together. This brings forth the message ,that one can never predict an attack especially when attacked from behind.
But both man and beast have the drive and guts to protect their marked territory ..and hence a defensive is put in place to ward off the offender! For me the scene is very powerful.. where Atharva lies axed in the back in hospital unable to defend himself due to not being able to see his attacker... Vividha filled with his valor instead turns up at their home territory and turns it into a battle field !by taking on the avatar of a goddess ready to confront the wrongdoer with her bosom protected with the shield of his love and the strong commands and words pour out of her mouth with great prowess! She has the blessings of the gods . Her voice crackles with rage. With piercing eyes she glares into the eyes of an aging tiger! A sluggish cowardly man! who fears the rumbling accusations of this chit of girl who has the authority of Durga goddess herself in her manner.. the offender becomes the defender ... he pulls his knife to threat her. But then no blade frightens her! in fact the dagger is stubbed by her fiery rage he has dared to harm her Atharva!! the expanded wide eyes attempt to fright off this chit of a girl but his bold stare is stared down by the blinding glare of a goddess ready to smite the evil one. The dramatic irony of the poignant scene left questions in my mind. Could Vividha not recognize the meant to stun glare of her father? The cruel steely grip of his palm on her wrist? The venom in his spurning her aside to escape? Sure he was surreptiously bandaged and well concealed.. did she seeing his blood unhinge her a bit? But he sure did make good use of her shock! By pushing her aside. Would he really have stabbed her too? I reckon he would! to sever Atharva & Vividha's union! For if by chance Atharva survives the hacking of his axe ! he would be a living dead, knowing Vividha is dead too!
The episode also hones into the domain of homicidal criminology and criminal behavior which Vividha in her scene with the suspect reveals .That the killer always returns to the scene of the crime to wipe out traces of evidence. Rather boldly she reveals what he looks for in her possession , and he best give himself up and reveal his identity before she hands over the evidence of his crime over to the police. That the chances for him walking away free are nil. She already spells out his doom by referring to him being carted off to the gallows! Her dead sure , conviction and belief that justice will be meted out! we see later on as being dashed! as the axe was not where she hid it.. she will learn through her life experience, that where virtue exists in our lives.. the presence of evil too is very strong in us. As in the virtuous Vividha pitted against her evil personified father KK. Do morally virtuous off springs thus carry the burdens of their immoral parents? Ravish and ramakant? However as humans there may be no doubt ,that , we carry both the good and bad within ours selves. That our personal beliefs, moral senses and philosophies guide ,instruct and strengthen the goodness in us. On the other hand , they also equip us with armor of fortitude, courage and perseverance especially, in times of losing a battle.. that we must never to lose hope.
Recent emotional crisis brings out the best in Vividha and she empowers Sujata that naught will happen to Atharva , as he is the chip of the old block! He is made of the same mettle as she is .. he will break through every blow, cut and hack through perseverance!
Well Sujata and Vividha's, Atharva is tough and stubborn as an ox! His life style has made him develop thick skin! The loving feel of his hand on hers reminds her of an earlier grip of hate. Thus with the united effort and prayers of the people he loves, Atharva is pulled back to life! he heals and is well enough to go back to the place where he belongs ,his home territory!
Traditional rituals to ward of the evil eye ,are performed in the Aarti for Atharva .. within her heart Vividha can sense the lethal ,life threatening evil eye..those big old weary yet menacingly gawking eyes!
This trauma meant to divide, them actually reinforces their bond... the waiting is over .. time cannot be lost.. hence this time she proposes as she did like before. This time Vividha has evidence of what can happen if they are not formally united.. she has evidence of why they must marry..
The episode refers to metal .. a class of elementary substance which are good conductors of heat. Solid and tough in nature yet malleable when exposed to fire! The fire of rage makes and sharpens the axe for KK to finish of Atharva.. yet the same metal symbolizes the ring Vividha proposes to Atharva with! The ring is shaped as in a full circle ,never ending love. The axe is sharpened metal used to chop through hard wood! KK uses the axe with intent to half the circle! Interfere with the continuity of their love!
The strong long arm of law and order reaches to investigate the crime incident and scene. Warnings are issued to keep security high and keep eyes and eyes open. Seems work of some organized gang!! Vividha is made to feel she made a much ado about nothing! But its Atharva who comes out with the solution! She proposed ... all terror is pushed back and engagement to be solemnized the following day is announced! So in the battle between which metal is stronger and lasting... its the ring that win's yet again! .. and for the moment the axe disappears... but does it still hangs over her beloved's head... the ring is the green signal from her.. their silent smiles are sufficient evidence of how they feel..Hamlet53 30.1.17
Interesting episode. In my mind the episode belonged to Vividha .She has had practice of going after odd characters, fact finding, gathering evidence, in the vasisht household. She is a keen learner, and picks up things fast , and is not afraid of taking risks! I suspect Vividha's father and brother were involved in this episode.. may be rhe brother picked up the axe?
